3 games yesterday and had one tip which came through for us.
Had the Flames to beat the Hawks which they did 5-2. The win moved the Flames into the playoff picture with Vancouver having the night off.
The Flyers were down 2-0 after the 1st but managed to comeback to beat the Panthers 4-3. The Oilers beat the Kings 1-0 in a close one.
13 games today.
Ducks vs Capitals
Ducks are a hard team to back. They won their last game which snapped their losing skid at 3 games.
The Caps have been up and down of late. 4 of their last 6 games have needed extra time to be completed which makes them hard to predict.
Would need to take the Caps -1.5 to get any value and I just don’t like that.
Lightning vs Bruins
These teams just played on Thursday and the Lightning won that one 4-1.
The Lightning are near the top of the league in GPG. They are 3rd in the Atlantic with 49 points in 41 games.
The Bruins won their last game and that snapped their losing skid at 6 games. They are in 4th in the Atlantic with 47 points in 45 games.
So as we can see this is a crucial game for both teams in the standings. Corsi numbers are close and so are the shots numbers. GA/60 is one the Lightning have the advantage but their XGA shows it’s also close so I’m passing.
Flyers vs Jackets
Flyers played yesterday so I’m not touching them.
The Jackets are on a 4 game win streak and find themselves in 4th in the Metro. They are ranked 5th in GPG but 31st in GAPG. So they can score but just can’t stop the opposition from scoring.
Despite their 4 game win streak I still don’t have enough faith in the Jackets to tip them.
Stars vs Leafs
Stars lost their last game but are 8-1-1 in last 10. On the road they’re 11-9-0.
The Leafs are 6-4 in last 10 and at home where they have gone 17-8. They are on a 2 game losing skid.
This should be a great game between two of the top 10 teams in the league. The odds are close with the Stars the slight favorites.
The Leafs have lost their last 2 and the Stars have been great in last 10 but the Leafs home record is keeping me away from taking Dallas here.
Sharks vs Wings
Sharks aren’t a team I’m backing. They are 2-7-1 last 10 and on a 3 game skid.
The Wings are playing great now. They have won 7 in a row and are at home where they have gone 12-10-2.
I do like the Wings chances but the CF and FF numbers for the Sharks are better so I’m skipping this.
Kraken vs Penguins
Both teams are playing bad right now.
The Kraken are 3-6-1 in last 10 and are 9-13 on the road.
The Pens are 3-4-3 in last 10 and have lost their last 2 games straight.
With both teams play, it’s an easy skip for me.
Panthers vs Devils
Both teams are 5-4-1 in last 10 and both are in 2nd in their respective divisions.
Panthers road record of 13-7-1 is very similar to the Devils home record of 13-6-3.
The Devils have 56 points in 45 games and the Panthers have 53 points in 43 games.
These teams are close and it’s making it tough for me to try and predict a winner.
The Panthers played yesterday so that kind of impacts my opinion of this game. They blew the lead yesterday so I’m sure they’re anxious to get back out there and pick up a win.
The data supports a Panthers win but they did just play so I’m skipping.
Senators vs Islanders
Sens are in 5th in the Atlantic but the Canadiens and Wings are only 1 point behind them. They haven’t been that good on the road this season going 10-11-2.
The Isles are a team that I generally never bet on. I just find them to hit or miss and their record shows that. They are 17-18-7 and their home record is 7-9-2.
Both are on win streaks, the Sens 2 and the Isles 3, but I don’t know who’s winning this game.
Flames vs Blues
Flames played yesterday and I’m not a fan of the Blues so I’ll be passing on this game.
Knights vs Predators
I know Graeme isn’t a fan of the Knights at the moment. They are tied for 1st overall in the league and 7-3 in last 10.
The Preds are on a 2 game skid and are 4-5-1 in last 10. They are in 7th place in the Central and 10 points behind Utah in 6th place.
The Knights haven’t yet burnt me they way they have for Graeme so I’m going to take them here. The Knights are better in CF, Shots for and against and goals for and against.
Knights win incl OT/SO

Canucks vs Jets
Canucks are hard to trust right now. Over last 10 they have gone 3-3-4 which isn’t encouraging. They’ve played decent on the road going 12-5-4.
The Jets have played decent going 6-2-2 in last 10. They are at home and they have played well there this season going 16-4-3
The data isn’t helping as it goes back and forth.
Canadiens vs Utah
Nothing here I like.
Rangers vs Avalanche
Rangers have won 2 in a row but have had 2 of their last 3 go to overtime. They have had a rough year going 20-20-2 and are 9-9-2 at home and 11-11-0 on the road.
The Avalanche are 7-2-1 in last 10. They are in 4th in the Central but have a nice cushion over the Blues who are in 5th
Would need to take the Avs in regulation but as mentioned the Rangers have had 2 of last 3 go to extra time.
To WIN moneyline: Jets, Flames, Habs
Props:
Habs Caufield OVER 0.5 points, OVER 2.5 shots
Habs Suzuki OVER 0.5 points
Lean: Columbus to win
Today’s schedule is loaded with teams playing their third game in four days, back-to-backs and matchups that present too many problems, when looking at their recent play. Some teams are playing GREAT hockey and the schedule and matchup are more clearly favoring one team. Habs are on a serious point splurge these days. Calgary just called up the AHL’s top goal scorer, Rory Kerins (his first game in the NHL), who skates, passes and sees the play like a league leader. With his old AHL teammate Pelletier, they had scored two goals by half way through the 1st Period, making Chicago defense look like traffic pylons.
