Only 5 games yesterday.
The Lightning beat the Rangers 5-1 with Kucherov picking up an assist in the 1st becoming only the fourth player in NHL history to register 3 consecutive 80 assist seasons. The Jets beat the Blues 3-1 snapping the Blues win streak at 12 games and now have a 3 point lead over the Caps for top spot in the league.
The Kraken beat the Kings 2-1 and this was only the 5 regulation loss at home for the Kings this season. The Flames rallied in the 3rd to beat the Sharks 3-2 and kept their playoff hopes alive. And the Ducks beat the Oilers 3-2.
For tonight we have 10.
Blackhawks vs Penguins
Both eliminated so nothing for me .
Hurricanes vs Sabres
The Canes are in 2nd in the Metro and on a 2 game skid. They are 11 points back of the Capitals and 7 ahead of the Devils.
The Sabres are right on the edge and will need to win out at this point. They have won their last 4 games. The 3 teams they are ahead of in the East have all been eliminated.
Hard to tell how a team will perform when their backs are against the wall. Maybe the Sabres can push their win streak to 5 games or the Canes can snap their losing skid. I have no idea.
Wings vs Canadiens
Big game here.
The Wings are in 10th in the East and 6 points back of the 8th place Canadiens. They are 5-4-1 in last 10 and on a 2 game win streak.
The Canadiens are in the 8th and final wild card spot with 85 points. They have a 6 point lead over both the Wings and the Rangers.
Should be a good game with 2 crucial points on the line.
Senators vs Jackets
Another big game in the standings.
The Sens are in 7th in the East with 90 points. They are close to clinching a spot as they have an 11 point lead of the 9th and 10th place teams and are are only 2 back of the Atlantics 3rd place team the Panthers. They are 6-3-1 in last 10 and on a 3 game win streak. They have gone 18-18-4 on the road.
The Jackets are in 12th in the East and are 8 points back of the Habs and 13 behind these Senators. They are 3-6-1 in last 10 and on 3 game losing skid. At home they’ve gone 22-10-5.
Could go either way.
Leafs vs Panthers
These teams just played last Wednesday.
The Leafs are in 1st place in the Atlantic. They have a 2 point lead over the 2nd place Lightning. They are 8-1-1 in last 10 and on a 4 game win streak.
The Panthers are in 3rd in the Pacific but are struggling. They are 3-6-1 in last 10 and on a 5 game losing skid. They are in 3rd in the Atlantic and 4 points behind the Lightning and 6 back of the Leafs.
I wanted to pick a team here to have at least one tip today but it’s really tough. Leafs looking to extend their win streak and lead in the division and the Panthers want to snap their losing skid so they need to have a good effort here at home.
Bruins vs Devils
The Bruins have been eliminated. They are 1-8-1 in last 10.
The Devils are in 3rd in the Metro, 5-4-1 in last 10 and on a 3 game win streak. The are 7 points behind the 2nd place Hurricanes.
I would lean towards the Devils to win here but it would have to be -1.5 and with the players they have out I’m a little nervous to do that.
Canucks vs Stars
The Canucks are in 10th in the East and are 8 points back of the 8th place Wild. They are 4-4-2 in last 10. They are going to have to turn things around and gain as many of the possible 10 points that they can.
The Stars are in 2nd in the Central and only 5 points back of the NHL leading Jets and 7 ahead of the Avalanche. They are 7-1-2 in last 10 and have lost the last 2 games.
I would lean towards the Stars but the Canucks know that their season is getting close to over with each loss they take.
Islanders vs Predators
The Isles are in 11th in the East and 7 points back of the 8th place Canadiens. They are 4-4-2 in last 10 and on a 2 game win streak.
The Predators have been eliminated and are 2-8-0 in last 10 and on a 6 game losing skid.
I’m fine passing on this game.
Kraken vs Utah
The Kraken have been eliminated from the playoffs. They are 4-4-2 in last 10 and have won their last 2 games.
Utah are in 11th place and are 9 points back of the final wild card spot. They are 5-4-1 in last 10.
Nothing here I like.
Knights vs Avalanche
This should be a good game between two of the better teams in the league.
The Knights are in 1st in the Pacific with a 5 point lead over the Kings. They are 8-2 in last 10 and have won their last 2 games. They are 20-13-5 on the road.
The Avalanche are in 3rd in the Central and are 7 back of the Stars and 5 ahead of the Blues. They are 6-3-1 in last 10 and at home they have gone 25-11-3.
This could go either way and instead of stressing about it I’ll just watch and enjoy what’s sure to be a good game.

Despite so many games it’s hard to prefict for sure. Hmmmmmm.
tis time of year is sooooo hard…. Only thing I am seeing as a MAYBE is Buffalo team total over 2.5 IF Kochetkov is in net on the other side… MAYBE, LOL… not very confident at all
under 6.5 totals have been hitting pretty good for me BUT I have been betting end of 2nd when the books have yet to update down to a 5.5 or 4.5
