We had two nice wins tonight with the game tips, and one losing one.
We went with the Stars to win at 1.86 odds, and in a tremendously fun game they did just that. They were 2-0 down in the 1st period, but these playoffs are obviously crazy and Dalls proved that, as they came back from 2-0 down to win 4-2 and tie up the series.
We also had Penguins vs Blue Jackets at 2.00 odds for Over 5 goals. The Penguins went 3-0 up in the first period, and then the Blue Jackets hit 4 unanswered goals to make it 2-2, 4 games with a 4-3 result, and yeah…..wow.
Our loss was with the Blackhawks who proved inconsistent, losing a 2 goal lead and then having to tie it up. We bet them to win in regulation and unfortunately it took until overtime for the Blackhawks to make it 2-1.
If you didn’t see the great Fleury in action last night, here is a gif of the game tieing goal:
And I do believe this meme is appropriate today:
So before I get into the NHL tips, I wanted to quickly mention ANOTHER Daily Fantasy Sports site. We’ve already covered FanDuel and they are AWESOME, but there’s another great daily NHL website I wanted to quickly mention.
That site is DraftKings.
They offer free entry to a fantasy contest for all new signups, have the $4,000 Free Friday Contest, and have a ton of NHL. I’ve started playing there and one thing I like is that they have smaller guaranteed tournaments and also offer some daily freerolls. I prefer to deposit and play with money – but if you’re new, you might want to try out the freerolls.
So head on over to DraftKings and check them out for Daily Fantasy. Be sure to check out the NHL $1 50/50 – a nice smaller way to build your bankroll at those sites as there’s a ton of horrible players there.
Okay, NHL Betting Tips for April 24th, 2014 – let’s get on that:
Sharks vs Kings: Over 5 Goals
3 crazy games between these teams, and all over 5 goals. 9 goals, 9 goals, and 7 goals – with the latter being in OT.
Kings have their backs against the wall in this bizarre playoff series – and honestly, both teams really do look like they can score at will.
I’m going with the Over 5 goals on this one. Just like with the Penguins vs Avs – it’s already went that way 3 times, why not a 4th?
Back that at Bovada for Americans and http://www.Bet365.com for everyone else..
Avs vs Wild: Avs to Win
Disclaimer: I love the Avs.
This season, I really do. I have big bets on them to win the cup as well as the conference. I’m in over 10 playoff pools, and every single one of them relies on the Colorado Avalanche.
I’m telling you all this because I am probably blinded. 2.15 odds are not that great considering Game 3 – yeah, the Avs shut them out in regulation but their own offense couldn’t get anything, AND the Wild had I think 853 shots on goal. It felt like that anyway. PLUS the crowd is absolutely mental in Minnesota and that’s spurring the players on.
Honestly, 1.74 for the Wild is probably a decent price. But I’m going with the Avs. I could try and justify it by telling you that they trust their goalie, that they have a top line with some on fire players, and that I believe Roy is a great strategist who will learn from Game 3 and capitalize here. But in all honesty – I’m blind with this bet.
Bruins vs Red Wings: Bruins to Win
1.74 odds for this. After a poor Game 1, Bruins have hit their stride with 4-1 and 3-0 wins. The under is probably appealing here too but 1.76 odds for Under 5 I’ll skip.
I like Bruins to take this series 4-1 now, with a win here and another win where they can go on to face the Habs.
What game can win?
Sorry for English. Meant to say kricky ricky sharks?
