Happy Halloween everyone. I’m looking forward to taking the kids out trick and treating tonight. I’ve got this horrible, ugly, scary, monster costume to wear for tonight. That’s right – I’m going out dressed as Zdeno Chara.
We went 1-1 with the tips last night, and lost the value bet. We had Sabres 3.00 on that one, and they did a tremendous job in taking the lead twice against the Bruins. Unfortunately Boston tied it up late in the 3rd period, then won in overtime.
Before we get to the tips, we’ve got two pieces of good news today:
#1: For Canadians Only – the $20 free bet at Sports Interaction has been extended. If you haven’t taken advantage of it for whatever reason then we’ve got it extended until the end of November. This is your last chance to get it though as it will be taken off the table after then – so stop betting at Pro Line or Sport Select like a sucker, and head on over to Sports Interaction (Exclusive: $20 Free Bet for Canadians) or for Americans try out Bovada and everyone else Bet365.com..
We’ll be looking at hooking up another free bet offer open to everyone in the next couple of weeks.
The other good news – we recieved a TON of great feedback after we posted our interview with Sports Interaction. You guys loved the insight the bookies gave us, and so we’ve managed to convince Sports Interaction to make this a semi-regular feature!
In the meantime we asked Sports Interaction our own questions – and here they are below with the answers. If you’re looking for the tips just scroll down but if you want to hear the bookies side of things keep reading and I recommend you do:
BetNHL.ca: Other than a few blips like last night, the Habs are just killing it right now. Are you seeing a lot of action on them? And how does this sort of form affect the betting lines?
Sports Interaction: They’ve started this season like they ended last season – by killing us! We’re Canadian and cater to a mass Canadian audience, so all the Canadian teams get a lot of action and they’re just devastating us!
We’ve had to inflate the lines on them – which actually works out great for the bettors, as night in, night out we now have the best odds on the Canadiens opponents! So if you’re looking to bet against the Habs – we’re the best place for that right now. They’re very impressive at the moment and if they don’t get struck down with injuries, you have to consider them as potential East winners.
BetNHL.ca: Speaking of injuries – how much does an injury crisis affect a team when it comes to betting action? The Blue Jackets for example – just a major injury crisis there. How’s the actio on them?
Sports Interaction: The Blue Jackets do appear cursed at the moment – but despite that, they’re very close to .500 even with the injuries. We do take more action against them but not as much as you’d expect. When it comes to playoff contenders it should all be about depth.
We’re seeing players step up for the Blue Jackets and being in the east, it gives them the opportunity to excel. No-one can write off the Blue Jackets yet.
BetNHL.ca: Who’s the worst – Hurricanes or Sabres? We had a value bet on the Sabres just last night against the Bruins. It didn’t pan out – but thoughts on puckline value for these teams?
Sports Interaction: It’s a toss-up who is worse, as they’re both 29th and 30th when it comes to the puckline money standings. You get a lot of fans who bet their teams night in, night out regardless of form – so they’re losing a ton of cash for their fans – if they even have any left!
We’d rank the Hurricanes higher when they are healthy although only barely, although we do see Eric Staal moving at some point during the season. We think a value bet like the Sabres over the Bruins is a good one – you just have to pick the opportunities, and that was a good choice. Although Buffalo is less skilled, Ted Nolan is strong when it comes to demanding a lot from his players, and we feel out of the two, the Sabres are the team that are less likely to just roll over. They almost beat the Bruins last night.
BetNHL.ca: Any teams you recommend we and our followers should look out for at the moment in terms of value?
Sports Interaction: The Boston Bruins. There’s a fair amount of injuries there at the moment and they’re on a rocky run of form. Because of that you won’t see them getting the odds they usually get. However it shouldn’t take long for this lineup to settle in, and they have that special goalie factor – Tuuka Rask will win a few games on his own no doubt.
BetNHL.ca: Sports Interaction has a ton of great nightly player props. Anyone you would recommend keeping an eye on at the moment for value?
Sports Interaction: That 70’s Line over in La – Pearson, Carter and Toffoli. Those guys are just unbelievable at the moment, and we expet them to get better. We get a lot of action on these big, fast guys and we cringe at that.
We’re also seeing a lot of action on the Dallas duo – Seguin and Benn. When it comes to Anytime Goalscorer props, we’re expecting to see action on those two for the entire season.
BetNHL.ca: Thank you so very much for talking to us. If any of our readers want to try out some of the awesome player prop bets, grab your $20 free bet via this link Sports Interaction (Exclusive: $20 Free Bet for Canadians) or for Americans try out Bovada and everyone else Bet365.com. and go bet hockey at Sports Interaction.
Alright – let’s get to the NHL Betting Tips for October 31, 2014:
Leafs vs Blue Jackets Betting Tips:
We are going to go with the Toronto Maple Leafs here.
We’ll stick with them to win including overtime and shootout. 1.95 odds on that and that’s good enough for us.
Leafs have had some big away wins this season already – including thrashing the Islanders and the Rangers. They’re looking better on the road than at home. Blue Jackets are without Bobrovsky.
Bet the Leafs at 1.95 odds at Sports Interaction (Exclusive: $20 Free Bet for Canadians) or for Americans try out Bovada and everyone else Bet365.com..
Predators vs Flames Betting Tips:
Neither of these teams are scoring goals at the moment – but they’re not really conceding much either. What’s notable about the Flames is Hiller gets his second game in a row. That’s notable because that’s the first time this season in Calgary that a goaltender is playing two in a row. That’s got to be a big confidence boost for him.
The line on this one is at 5, but we’re getting 2.00 on that which is decent. Go with Under 5 goals in Predators vs Flames at Sports Interaction (Exclusive: $20 Free Bet for Canadians) or for Americans try out Bovada and everyone else Bet365.com..
Ducks vs Stars Betting Tips:
The Stars are all about goals at the moment. Scoring them, and conceding them.
The Ducks USED to be all about goals. They’re struggling at the moment – but you know that’s just a blip, and their offense is just ready to explode.
This is the perfect game for that to happen.
Go with Over 5.5 goals at 1.83 odds at Sports Interaction (Exclusive: $20 Free Bet for Canadians) or for Americans try out Bovada and everyone else Bet365.com..
Just a suggestion, the next time you guys do an interview with the sports interaction guys you should get some insight into how they set lines on a nightly basis. Very curious about how they view recent form, injuries (especially a star player), days rest, travel sched, ect. when setting the days lines.
I never see a disastre tipsters like both of you.
