Hi guys,
Sorry about the delay in tips today. Looking forward to the whole Christmas holidays to be over and the kids being back at school – throws my day right off!
We ended December on a high note, going 2-1.
We had the Leafs vs Bruins going over 5.5 which it did when the Leafs beat the Bruins 4-3 in a shootout. We had the Grand Salami over 60.5 and this was a super close one but we still won when the night ended at 61.
Our loss came when we had the Flames in regulation over the Oilers but they needed OT to win 4-3.
We skipped yesterday. Winter Classic is always a tricky one and we didn’t feel the other game.
December Dynasty contest results will be posted tomorrow, and everyone contacted about the tiebreakers. Like I said – slow start today.
BetNHL.ca Daily Trivia:
Answers from yesterday:
It was in the 50s that coaches would sit on the bench with the players. The last to do it was Chicago coach Ebbie Goodfellow, and it was 10-15 years for the 2nd black player to surface in the NHL. That would be Mike Marson, picked 19th overall in the 1974 entry draft. There was a ton of racial abuse during that time – really what P.K. Subban suffered after the Bruins-Habs series was nothing compared to that.
Todays Questions:
In 2011 when the Thrashers moved to Winnipeg to become the Jets, Winnipeg started the “Drive to 13,000” season ticket campaign. How long did it take to sell those season tickets? 17 minutes, hours, days or weeks?
Who was the last pick in the 2011 NHL All-Star game draft, where 36 players were selected one by one under the new format? Paul Stastny(Avs), Phil Kessel(Leafs), Loui Eriksson(Stars) or Corey Perry(Ducks).
Let’s get on with the tips:
Flyers vs Hurricanes Betting Tips:
Hurricanes are missing Jeff Skinner tonight. Jordan Staal is going to be playing – but I don’t think we’ll see his best for awhile. It was nice to see him get that assist against the Habs last week – but I think he’s still nervous on the ice and it’s going to take a little bit for him.
We think Flyers have what it takes to get the W tonight. Take the Flyers to win at 1.90 odds.
Leafs vs Wild Betting Tips:
We like the Leafs to put December behind them, get a win here and build up the false hope of Toronto fans again for another good few days.
Actually really looking forward to this game. With the injuries, Leafs have some players who should hopefully step up to the plate. Leafs obviously play a much more open game than the Wild – who really play a more tight, structured defensive matchup. Could be really interesting.
Go with the Leafs here 2.25 odds.
Oilers vs Avalanche Betting Tips:
I hold a soft spot for both these teams – but I like what I’m seeing with the Avs tonight. Roy is mixing it up with the line changes – and it’s something they badly need. Duchene will skate on the top line with Landeskog and Briere. MacKinnon now paired with Talbot and Mitchell.
Perfect time to do it in what is essentially a practise game.
I like rolling the dice on betting this move will work out – so betting Avs -1.5 at 2.45 odds.
Flames vs Islanders Betting Tips:
A few wins under their belt, the Flames will be coming into this one confident. Going up against the free flowing Islanders. We think this one has a lot of goals in it, and will be taking Over 5.5 goals at 2.00 odds.
