Well an unfortunate night last night. Scott was predicting a lot of goals and he got that part right – unfortunately it was in the wrong games. Some real high scoring games yesterday. Rangers vs Islanders was a really interesting one to watch – Rangers seemed a lot more conservative in their approach, but came away with the win.
Today is Wednesday, March 11th and there are just three games tonight. Best bloody time for our Canada and America readers to check out daily fantasy hockey at FanDuel. You don’t even have to pay – they have freerolls you can participate in to get your feet wet.
Note for Canadians – Free Bet Extended. We managed to get the $20 free bet at Sports Interaction extended. If you haven’t signed up there yet – do that now, to get the $20 free bet. For all the details see this page.
And now with three games let’s see what we got tonight – may as well analyze all three:
Leafs vs Sabres:
THE BIG GAME – the battle between the crap and the….also crap.
Leafs go into this as massive favourites They are 1.43 to win including overtime and shootout. Buffalo haven’t played since Saturday, when they got crushed by the Capitals 6-1. Leafs last played Monday, when they lost 4-3 to the Islanders in a tight one.
Buffalo have a few key injuries in the D. Honestly I feel bad tipping the Leafs. Sabres at 2.90 probably has some value. But it’s one of those games where I think you just have to go with the Leafs here. If they can’t win here? I just……I just don’t know what to say. Leafs in regulation – 1.74 odds at Bovada for Americans and http://www.Bet365.com for everyone else..
Rangers vs Capitals:
A tricky game. Rangers come into this without a night off, while the Capitals have had a few days to rest and relax. Rangers however have a good record against the Capitals.
I’m not fully convinced on the Capitals, but we’re getting 1.71 odds including OT/Shootout at Bovada for Americans and http://www.Bet365.com for everyone else. which is enough for me to take that bet.
Flames vs Ducks:
4 of these 5 games have went Over the 5.5 goal mark. They’ve all been thrillers too and even the one that went under was a tight 3-2 win by the Ducks.
It’s a good matchup for the over, as the Ducks generally are better than the Flames – but the Flames keep pushing and always find ways to score.
Flames going into this after a lot of high scoring games. Ducks have faltered the last two games and this will be a big one for them. We like this to be a big battle – and for it to go Over 5.5. 2.00 odds at Bovada for Americans and http://www.Bet365.com for everyone else..
I favour the Leafs too but barely. You never know which team will show up. If the Leafs can put all other distractions aside i.e. Kadri & the media they have a good chance but the Sabres, injuries aside have stolen wins with stronger teams already. Good luck tonight!
love the odds with the Sabres who are more than capable of an upset. They may suck, but they come to play every night with a lot of heart. Great odds on a parlay with: sabres +1 1/2 – rangers ml – flames ml. paying 7:1
I dunno not a fan of that parlay honestly. I do agree that the Sabres are a solid value bet. The Leafs I feel with OT/shootout the odds are brutal, but add in regulation and it’s just a play. I think based on the odds I’d be betting the Sabres straight up rather than the parlay.
The parlay I recommended above came in. Along with that I took rangers ml and flames ml. Rangers are on a tear and playing like a contender with outstanding netminding. Flames had a lot more to play for last night than the Ducks.
Nice one – I actually read it wrong. I thought you were parlaying the Sabres ml – I didn’t notice the 1.5. I was thinking that throwing that in there the 7:1 wasn’t that great a price haha.
thanks! I didn’t have enough confidence in the Sabres to beat TML but I did think they’d make it a close game. The parlays don’t often come in, but it’s nice when they do.
