We went a perfect 3-0 last night.

We had the Penguins to beat the Blue Jackets which they did winning 5-2.  The Pens didn’t have Crosby, Letang or Fleury but Malkin and Kessel stepped up, both scoring twice.

The Stars entered the 2nd period down 2-0 but stormed back scoring 4 straight goals to take the lead and win 6-3. Lehtonen was pulled after allowing 2 goals on 4 shots but Niemi was solid the rest of the way.

We had over 5 in the Canadiens vs Predators game and this came through for us when the Preds won 5-1.

Well it’s the last day of hockey before the NHL takes a 3 day Christmas break but it’s a busy night with 10 games.  After todays tips we will be back once hockey resumes on Saturday, December 26th.

Graeme had mentioned a week or so ago he has been working on a 1st period betting system. While he’s not ready to start posting it in the regular tips yet as it’s still in its infancy, he’s been posting tips in the comments the last two days. On Sunday he posted a “very confident” tip which won, and yesterday he posted 3 “slightly confident” tips which won. The current record of it is 4-0, +6.5 units. He’ll continue posting tips in the comments for the next couple of weeks but wants to remind everyone the system is in it’s infancy.

Betting on the 1st periods is recommended at the following books:

Americans: Bovada.
Canadians: Sports Interaction
Outside North America: Bet365 (Americans: We recommend http://www.bovada.lv.

We wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays or whatever it is that you celebrate.

Blues vs Bruins Betting Tips:

The Bruins have a strange record.  They play far better on the road then they do at home.  At home they are 8-7-2 but on the road they’re 11-2-2.  But it seems to be working for them as they’re in 2nd place in the Atlantic Division.

The Blues are currently 3rd in the Central and are 12-4 against Boston over the last 15 years.  So maybe this could be the game that ends their current slump.

With a win the Bruins could move into 1st in the Atlantic so they’ll be swinging for the fences in this one as will St Louis who wants to head into the break on a positive note.

Jets vs Flames Betting Tips:

The Jets are 5-5 over their last 10 games and have a lousy road record of 6-11-1.

The Flames are 7-3 after their last 10 and have won their last 9 home games.

With the Flames success at home and the Jets likely going with Hutchinson, who is 0-6-1 over his last 7 road games, you have to like Calgary’s chances in this one.

Canadiens vs Wild Betting Tips:

The Habs are looking to avoid their first 5 game losing streak in 4 years.  They need to find a way to win and they would love nothing more then to pick up a win before heading to break.

The Wilds last 4 games have had high goal totals; 9, 5, 7 & 8.  They’re 6-2-2 over their last 10 but are riding a 2 game losing skid.

I like this game to have goals. The last 10 games between these 2 have had an average of 6 goals. Surely the Habs can find a way to score and gain something before the break and the Wild want to snap this streak.

Good tips 😉

Graeme

1st Period Betting System has 2 “very confident” tips today.

Stars: 2.70
Lightning: 2.45

And 2 borderline tips:

Panthers: 2.65
Wild: 2.60

As mentioned previously this is a high variance system – even though it’s currently 4-0 the winrate will be less than 50% longterm. Bear that in mind.

Its interesting that you can’t take the visiting team at -0.5 only to cover the spread. Your forced to take the home team to win the 1st period, unless Im not seeing i?

Graeme

At Bet365 yep. There are other books that allow more open betting for the 1st period. 888 for example: https://www.888sport.com/icehockey.htm?sr=1037266

They offer a ton of betting for the 1st period like who will win, if it’s a draw, total goals over/under, total goals per team etc.

Marc Lachance

Where do you see 2.7 for Stars first period? I see 1.87 on sport interaction. Can’t be that big a difference in between two betting site can it?

Marc Lachance

Nm I found it!

Claus Pedersen

Im feeling chicago win tonight, but i just can’t justify it. It kinda annoys me, and can’t really get a feel about the goal amount. They are both doing good, Stars in particular, but i still see chicago as the better team.

How do you guys feel about the game?

Graeme

Blackhawks have a solid record against the Stars recently. Stars just played last night and have struggled lately on the 2nd leg of a B2B. The only real iffy part is how poor the Blackhawks have been on the road – but it’s probably a coinflip which likely goes to OT. So as Hawks are 2.05 and better they’re probably a marginally good bet.

magus1349

One unit on Red Wings @ 2, one unit on Senators @2.8 and one unit on Habs @3.

lion

Is it optibet odds?

magus1349

Sory, what mean optinet?
The odds are for regulation.

lion

sorry my mistake. I just wanted to write optibet. anyway, I would like to say smt about your picks that I agree with you for Senators and habs wins but I think devils wont lose today 😉 it is one of my favourite team today!

Habs/Wild: When you consider the Habs goalies gave up an avrg 3.60 goals in their last 5gms & Petry(+4) solid dman is on IR, those factors alone can help the Wild win the over by themselves; They’ve given up an avrg. 2.60 goals in their last 5gms so that and possible fatigue on a btob might loosen their defense too. Good pick.
Win/Cal
The Jets won 1 btob way back in Oct; Since then they’ve won one & lost one in 2btob in Nov & Dec. They’ve had an avrg 40 SOG in their last 3gms but like you said, goal tending could affect their outcome; Flames do give up the most SOG and their GA is 3.00 but their GF is 3.36; Their looking to add 10wins to their home record but we all know records are meant to be broken so this could be a close one. Still, the Flames have the edge.
To/Ari
I like the over in this one. Leafs have an avrg 4.60GF in their last 5 gms & Arizona has an avrg 3.20GF; Again fatigue could factor in the Leafs defense on a btob & help the Yotes score;
Good luck!

I’m going with a blues, leafs, Panthers and kings 4 fold tonight got to go with my gut instincts, blues will want to bounce back from a defeat against the Flyers, leafs are in good form at the moment, panthers won’t want to lose to the senators again and with home ice advantage and being statistically better too, Kings seem to be hit and miss for me recently but this is where my gut says that quick will not be so leaky this game!!

SanDiegoBruinsD

Habs/Wild over – leaky goalies & teams
Leafs/Yotes over – two leaky teams
Stars ML – scoring lots of goals and winners of last 3 of 4
Flames ML – Jets spiraling down, played last night and leaky goalie.

Lukas McDowall

You really like the word “leaky” eh.

SanDiegoBruinsD

I’ll get out the thesaurus next time Lukas

Dave B

Top work yesterday guys. Turned £14 into £100. All the best!

Tony

Been feeling pretty sick lately and have been taking it easy in general and on the betting front, so haven’t commented on here for awhile. But I’m back for a 2penith worth tonight haha

As I’ve not had a lot of time or effort, I’ve not looked at anything tonight other than the game I’m most interested in- Leafs – Coyotes (as a bit of a Yotes fan)

Tony

Arizona Coyotes vs Toronto Maple Leafs

Coyotes to win.
(I also think the under 5.5 has some good value to it here for a few reasons, but I’m not as confident. Only having half a unit on that).

Computer calculated win % for Arizona is 56%. At current price this has a +EV of 4.16%.

Arizona rank 5 places above Toronto in my team rating system.

Domingue starting again after shutout last game against Islanders. He’ll really want to make his mark and try and show what he’s made of.

Toronto on a back to back having beat the Avs last night 7-4 and so tiredness could be a factor.

Coyotes have awesome record against Toronto, going 9-1-1 against the Leafs in last 11 games.

Bernier in net having won 2 in a row, with a previous record of 0-8-3. The run will end eventually. Why not tonight?…

Tony

Think it will be a really close game that just tips in Arizonas favour. Could end in a nightmare and the Leafs blow them out the water though if they continue the form that saw them destroy the Kings. All good things have to end sooner or later though lol
