A big win for the New York Rangers last night. They managed to shut out Crosby and are getting a winning run going at a very key time in the NHL season – leading up to the playoffs.
The Senators unfortunately could not get off to a winning start with Phaneuf in the team. The Senators PP was particularly frustrating to watch as it was a game they could have taken if they had managed to convert on more of those.
I’d like to thank Scott for handling the tips alone over the last few days. I was down in Vegas to watch the Super Bowl and when I’m there I pretty much tune any work out.
Speaking of – if there is one show I would recommend in Vegas it is David Copperfield. I’ve seen a lot of shows there and this one just blew me away. I really didn’t think I’d even like it either. I just wanted to see Copperfield so I could say that I’d seen him as the man is an icon – but holy moley was this show just unreal.
I didn’t think I could ever really enjoy a magic/illusion show other than Penn & Teller – but I take that back after seeing Copperfield. Highest recommendation.
Alright it’s February 11th and the NHL has welcomed me back with a lot of games for tonight. Let’s get to the betting tips:
Ducks vs Blue Jackets Betting Tips:
Post all star break, the Ducks have played some solid hockey with two great wins on the road against the Flyers and Kings. They’re now visiting Columbus tonight to take on the Blue Jackets.
Perry is on fire at the moment and it’s going to beb hard for the Jackets to contain him. With the Jackets goalie injury situation – it doesn’t look like a good night for the Jackets. You’ve also got the Ducks with the best PK in the league going against the Jackets and the 3rd worst PP%. So Ducks won’t mind playing physical.
The Ducks do however REALLY struggle to score on the road. I’m hoping with Korpisalo in net tonight that won’t be as much of an issue – but I’m going to trade carefully on this one and just take the Ducks to win.

Islanders vs Kings Betting Tips:
This is one where I’m going to do something rare and leave it in the hands of my betting system. Usually I use my main system generally as a baseline – it leans towards something and I go from there. Then we work both sides of it.
Tonight it feels incredibly strong about the Islanders vs Kings Over 5 – to a point that I rarely see. To see the last time these two went to Over 5 you have to go back to November 2010 when the Kings won 5-1. Obviously part of this opinion is based on the Kings recent form and their offense, and the Islanders big 8 goal demolition of the Oilers.
I could go either way with it but yeah based on both teams last few games – Over 5 Goals.

Wild vs Capitals Betting Tips:
My only concern with this game is that the Wild treat it like a Stanley Cup final. We’ve seen it before. The Wild have the longest losing streak at home in their history, and they’re going up against without a doubt the best team of the season. It’s so easy to see them getting super hyped up and so on for this one.
And then if they do win you sit back and ask where the hell was that passion these last few games?
If it happens – so be it. But it’s very, very hard to tip against the Capitals at the moment and the only reasoning I can really see is the above. Everyone is performing for the Capitals and they’re a beast be it at home, on the road or on the moon. With such a great price against a team struggling like the Wild? Have to take them.
Capitals to Win.

Welcome back !
Agree with tonights tips.
It feels the type of night that i might get my mojo back.
Without any further explanations, here’s my picks:
Kings ML (high chance for OT)
Ducks in regulation
Avs in regulation
Caps-Wild OT
Bruins ML
Blackhawks in regulation
Oilers in regulation
Sharks in regulation
Flyers Sabres game is a big nono for me, too many variables.
GL !
Legendary lineup for the Leafs tonight:
Grabner-Holland-Komarov
Greening-Arcobello-Parenteau
Winnik-Spaling-Boyes
Leivo-Froese-Clune
Hunwick – Rielly
Gardiner – Polak
Cowen – Corrado
Wash ML — excellent value as Graeme states. Wild stink. Fans/former players calling for Yeo’s dismissal.
Ducks ML — playing at higher level than BJs right now. Perry on fire and not afraid to mix it up. That fight the other day at Philly may also ignite even more fire in the Fighting Fowl.
LAK ML — although I think it may be lower-scoring event. I don’t know, but I think Kings can’t expect to score in bunches like it did the other night. Greiss in net for Isles and I think he’ll put up a decent battle. If Halak were starting, then I would lean on the Over here. One trend to note: Last few games between clubs 1-8-1 UNDER has cashed.
Chi/Dal Over — As a home favorite, the Chi?Dal games have seen the OVER come in 9 out of 10 times. NIemi isn’t steady in net for Dallas and I have read that he’s not very good against his former team (sorry can’t remember stats). Hawks will be without Panarin and that’ll be a blow for the home team. Hard to imagine Blackhawks won’t come out firing and, at the same time, Stars should be able to sneak a few past Crawford.
My picks for tonight:
Ducks, Flyers, Avalanche and Leafs.
Tonight Picks,
Blue Jackets win
Islanders win
Flyers win
Senators win
Jets win
Hawks win
Leafs win
Flames win (risky)
Good luck!
I have to completely agree about Copperfield. I saw him when he came to Vancouver, but we ended up missing half the show because there was both a Canucks & Lions game at the same time and we got held up in traffic. We had amazing seats four rows back and it was so embarassing getting ushered right to the front in the middle of his show. But it was still fantastic as he did a close up burning flower illusion in the aisle right beside us and then ended the night by making half the audience disappear … The man is a legend!
Ok hockey!
Korpisalo scares me. He has been playing lights out and coupled with Torts’ defense first style I can see this being a very tight game possibly going either way. I am going with the UNDER.
I think LA’s outburst against Boston was half Lucic inspired and half abnormal. They matched up well that game and I see them having used a lot of energy making it tough to bring it against New York. Both show good values and its almost a pick’em but I would lean to the ISLANDERS
I don’t see much value in the Sabres/Flyers game, but I would take the FLYERS. Bonus non-tip would be the over.
The Sens get to show off their new guy at home and are actually showing very good value against a mis-firing Avs team. Go with the SENATORS.
Bruins/Jets are both showing very good value, but this one is too tough to call (in my opinion). I do like the +120 being offered on the UNDER though! I would expect a Boston grind win 3-1.
As Graeme said, hard to bet against the CAPITALS right now. They are showing decent value against a very hard done by Wild team right now. I am also intrigued by the over in this game.
Good game between the Stars and Hawks who have split their season series so far. I feel like the HAWKS are going to show Dallas that the second half of the season gets a lot more serious then first half runs.
Edmonton is showing absolutely no value against a struggling Leafs team but that +105 on the OVER sure looks good! McDavid is going to put on another show for the home faithful!
Sharks/Flames is a tough one to call. The Flames have a couple young guys back in the lineup after some discipline, have the Dads on the road with them and should be up to take the first in their 2 game road trip. Its a stretch but I would take the FLAMES.
Good luck tonight everyone!
5-4 … Ugh
Wild win.
Good luck!
Nice call on tonight’s Isles/Kings system bet Graeme. Cha-ching!
