Last night was a frustrating 1-2 night due to the Kings/Rangers game.
A large basis for the Rangers betting tip as mentioned yesterday was Lundqvist and his form which I mentioned. I had been checking and Lundqvist was “all but confirmed” to be in net.
Unfortunately at the time I put the tips out he wasn’t confirmed – but in 99% of these cases Lundqvist would be in net. Then an hour later it was announced that Raanta would be starting instead.
We’re never going to retract the bets we make here – as I mean by the time I knew about Rannta, over 5,000 people had read the Rangers betting tip. I’ve written about this before, but we release the tips early due to a large European following that we have and we hope to accomodate them.
It’s my own mistake for not writing that Lundqvist wasn’t confirmed and to wait until he IS confirmed first.
But whatever – it happens and I went into that game not really expecting much. Sure enough – the Kings go up 2-0 and I’m just nodding my head going “Yup”.
But then the Rangers score. Once. Twice. Three times. And they suddenly have the lead! Although it was for only 5 minutes before the Kings tied it up.
Then with less than 5 minutes on the clock, the Rangers get another goal. And it’s 4-3 and suddenly I’m thinking holy crap I’m actually going to luck out here.
And then with 30 seconds left – the Kings tie it up sigh.
But hey that’s why I love hockey, and why I love betting hockey. To go from a glum acceptance 10 minutes in at 2-0, to being on the edge of my seat anxiously yelling at every player with 5 minutes left. At least I got my entertainment value out of it.
It’s Saturday, February 13th and NHL kicks off at 1pm EST with the Devils vs the Flyers. Bruins vs Wild is at 2pm and then the games start off at their regular evening time of 7pm EST.
Let’s get to the betting tips:
Oilers vs Jets Betting Tips:
This is such a tricky one – as above all else I am betting based on expected confidence and self-belief.
The Oilers beat the Leafs a couple of nights ago. I wanted to tip the Oilers in that game but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Then a few hours later I saw the Leafs line-up and was absolutely kicking myself. Even the Edmonton Oilers could beat that team.
And they did. But it wasn’t a complete walkover. And while all the media are busy dutch ruddering Connor McDavid and his 5 point game – I was too busy looking at the mistakes. The Oilers did not look good. They looked absolutely mediocre at times.
I’m not convinced by their performances – but with McDavid out there they have that belief. That belief that you have a magician who can perform tricks whenever necessary. That belief that when you go 2 goals down it doesn’t matter – because McDavid is there.
The Jets can’t be underrestimated. They’ve been pretty solid on the road lately. But confidence is a big factor and I’m going to back the Oilers based on that.
Oilers to win.

Stars vs Capitals Betting Tips:
It’s been a long time since the Washington Capitals last beat the Dallas Stars. The Stars never seem to have an issue with Ovechkin – you have to go back to 2008 when the Capitals last beat the Stars I believe. That was a 6-5 thriller win.
They’ve played once this season already with the Stars winning in Washington 3-2.
These teams are the top two goalscoring teams per game in the NHL and the Stars have scored 3 more goals with 2 more games played. Stars average 3.23 at home although they can be a bit stingy at giving up goals. Capitals are just incredible at scoring on the road though.
A game like this reminds me of a lot of Barclays Premier League games. You get all excited and pumped for an Arsenal vs Chelsea game then it ends up being 0-0 or 1-0 in a completely boring, tame affair. But I’m hoping that’s not the case. This one has everything to suggest a goal fest.

Canucks vs Leafs Betting Tips:
The Canucks are a tough team to bet. They’re one that when you bet and they lost you’re just pissed at yourself for thinking they’d actually win a game. They can be so disappointing as they really should be much better.
Their home form is also piss poor. Despite that they’re going against the Leafs,a team who in Vancouver they have an excellent record against.
The form the Canucks have showed these last couple of games is EXCELLENT though. I’ve really been impressed with their play against the Coyotes and Avs and wonder if they’re going to go on a push for the post-season.
I feel confident enough based on those performances to bet Canucks to win in regulation.

I feel you guys with the goalie thing, it’s pretty tough to put these tips up so early to be honest. I think it’s up to your audience to keep track on which goalie ends up playing and then back down from it.
Anyway, It’s funny how you can completely lose your betting touch after a huge night, like i did after the first round of post all-star break. Lesson learned never lose your focus even though you’re winning as it can start a snowball effect and you’ll get frustrated, sometimes i feel like betting is kind of like sports.
It’s been a tough week, but luckily im starting to feel comfortable again. Really killed it with live-bets last night, as the games went on i looked at every single game how they were going and compared it to my point-rating system and gut feeling, and ended up going with a bold 4-game OT parlay midway through the games, and what you know Canes tied it up, Kings tied it up, Wings didn’t have enough killer instinct to win it in regulation even though they dominated and Stammer with his vintage slap shot sealed the deal. What a night.
Also the Blues won which i felt really strongly about, i took a big risk on that one betting a lot and it ended up paying off.
Perhaps this means i’ll get it going with pre-game bets again, let’s get to it !
Bruins-Wild: I feel pretty good about Minnesota finally snapping out of it. Bruins shouldn’t be too lethal tonight, they’re coming off of a “we have to prove ourselves” night after getting hammered by the Kings and ended up with the big W. The Wild have been playing a lot better lately but it’s never easy to win when every single bounce keeps going against you. But at least they’ve showed the effort and have had some elements in their game that make the Wild a good team. All in all i like the Wild’s underdog position here. Bruins take them a bit lightly but they really can’t afford to, they aren’t _that_ much better than the Wild. And once Minnesota gets the lead they’ll claw and bite their way into victory.
Maple Leafs-Canucks: Man, it would be so easy to go with the Canucks tonight. But i think there’s a very strong possibility the Nucks fans will go “are you kidding me” multiple times tonight. Leafs have nothing to lose, they’ve got nothing going for them in this matchup and weird enough usually in the NHL that means you’re going to have really good game results-wise at least. Vancouver is struggling at home. If they get it done in regulation then so be it, but my system shows strong possibility for OT combined with a gut feeling i have – i can’t pass up on this. Im going with OT.
Islanders-Hurricanes: Canes will try their hardest that’s for sure, but i think the Isles are just too good for them right now. Without Faulk, in a divisional game that matters in the standings, the Isles should never lose this game. They’re scoring a lot of goals right now. Perhaps the Canes end up outplaying them but on the scoresheet i like the Isles chances.
I also like the Caps, Jets, Preds and Sharks to win tonight. Probably going with ML’s with these games to avoid let down OT’s.
Ducks-Hawks and Sens-Jackets i have completely no clue on. As far as im concerned they could go either way.
Flyers-Devils im going back and forth, which makes me want to avoid it, but im leaning towards the Flyers. Their odds are very low though, so im passing on it.
Good luck guys !
Are you sure that people from Canada can bet on GT Bets?
I’m late to the party but I will throw in my 2 cents. Pardon the out-of-orderness, but the first couple are the more intriguing to me.
Washington/Dallas I am going to go with the OVER as well. I like Graeme’s reasoning and despite them having a record of 6-4 on the O/U head-to head. I don’t know how much you can look to previous seasons. This year both teams are offensive juggernauts.
Winnipeg/Edmonton I am going with the OVER. Both teams have gone over 5 times in their last 6 each, and coupled with the fact that the Oilers are playing Brossoit and Jets are turning to Pavelec (who was injured for 3 months!) and I see goalies having a tough time getting into a rhythm.
I like the UNDER in the Sens/Blue Jackets game. I always tend to see CBJ playing tight defense and the Sens are going through a weird phase. As long as this isn’t the game where Dion meshes, it should be a low scoring affair.
I like the ISLANDERS over the Hurricanes on the road, but the value just isn’t there for me to place on. I would probably lean more to the under if I were going that route as this is showing decent odds. Enough to consider…
Ducks/Hawks is a tough game. The Hawks have actually been struggling lately, but you would think at home and on primetime against a worthy opponent, they should show up. Not much value on the ML, but I think they would win big or at least with an empty netter if its close. HAWKS -1.5
SHARKS are the heavy favourites against Arizona as they should be. Not worth playing this game in my opinion. I do like the over though.
The Panthers should beat the Preds at home, but what has me very interested is the UNDER. It is showing very good value and despite both teams going over respectively in their last 4 of 5, I have a feeling this game will be a back to basics, defense first style of game. Luongo always shows up after being blown out/pulled and with Nashville having played last night, they will grind it.
Man am I ever looking forward to the Leafs/Canucks game. The Nucks are wearing their 90’s era jerseys which have a lot of sentimental value to me and from the pictures I’ve seen they look SHARP! Toronto in town is always a fun night too!
Good luck everyone!!
3-4 … Goalies played great in the Oilers/Jets games which hurt me. Got lucky in the Panthers/Preds game!
Only one Pick for tonight!
Jets win! 2.55 odd is peacefull!
Good luck!
Uhhh crazy night with the lots of weird results. Sometimes i do think if the some games are fixed.
