It was quite the night of intense NHL action last night. Two games went to overtime and the Leafs/Wild game was a tight one with the Leafs just pounding the net but not being able to get by Dubs.

Unfortunately it didn’t go as well for the tips. We had the Sharks to win in regulation and they came out of the 3rd period HOT. They hammered the Sens net but just couldn’t get by them and with a minute left the Senators sneaked one home and then got the empty netter to wrap it up.

We weren’t too concerned with Cam Ward yesterday and we were right there with the Ducks putting 5 past him. Unfortunately Gibson let us down as the Carolina Hurricanes offense came to life in a crazy fashion. That was a hell of a game and we saw the fight in the Ducks that we expected after that Flames game. Unfortunately we had them in regulation.

Onto tonight and a big plate of games and hopefully some better luck for us.

Oilers vs Flyers Betting Tips:

I’m hoping this one will go off and will take Over 5.5 Goals 2.00 at Pinny. The Oilers offense on the road is tremendous and although they’re going against Mason and the Flyers at home, the Flyers have been conceding a bit lately. Mason has had some excellent performances but it’s one of those things where his great performances are partially due to the amount of shots he takes on net due to some poor defending.

I can’t see the Oilers having issues getting past him. And at the moment we can really count on the Flyers offense – you have to go back to November 19th for the last time they scored 1 or less goals in a game. Hell they’ve scored 1 or less goals only twice this season and one of those games was against Carey Price.

Over 5.5 Goals incl OT/SO

Lightning vs Canucks Betting Tips:

Have to go with Tampa here. They realized their issue was conceding goals and they’ve tightened up on that part plus they’re getting Callahan and Garrison back and Drouin possibly as well. They’ve figured out their issue now they’ll expand on that and get the offense clicking knowing they have a solid rearguard they can count on.

Lightning to win in Regulation 1.84 at BetOnline..

Islanders vs Blues Betting Tips:

I’m going to warn you I’ve went over this one about 50 bloody times today. I’ve been debating an Islanders win vs Over 5 all morning. One of the big issues is whether the Blues have the energy tonight after some tough games and on the road here.

Probably after all that Blues will win 2-1 to make me look like an idiot. Anyway I’m taking Over 5 incl OT/Shootout at 1.78 at Pinny in this one. Two above average goalscoring teams who also can’t seem to stop the goals going on.

I know the Devils haven’t been great on the road this season, but with the Habs defense being so leaky and the major injuries they have now up front, the Devils seem like a nice road dog tonight.

dusan

Devils to win?

BlueLineBets

I think there is value on the ML at 2.45.

Mirko Presen

My thoughts excatly ๐Ÿ™‚

dusan

Offline: Beaulieu, Galchenyuk * * Desharnais, Redmond * (MTL); Zajac ?, Zach? (NJD).

andu305

I am new to betting in hockey. What does ML mean?

BlueLineBets

“money line” it means the team can win in regulation, overtime, or in a shoot out and you still win the bet.

andu305

I have been looking at your past predictions and you are simply amazing. I used to bet on soccer, but it is imprevizible, so I am willing to start learning a few things about NHL, since I like this sport.

BlueLineBets

Thank you very much! I appreciate the compliment, ha. For tonight I am leaning towards the over in the Oilers/Flyers game. Both offenses are really clicking right now and both teams have solid power plays. I see a shoot out brewing. I also like the Devils. This is a bit of a value play, but their last 7 games have all been decided by 1 goal and I think they can take one here from a Habs team that has struggled to score recently AND has a few key injuries. Florida is going to come out of this slump eventually, but I lean towards the Penguins tonight who have really found their offense who have scored 3,5,6,5,and 8 goals their last 5 games. As always, there are no guarantees, but these are the picks I feel most confident about tonight.

andu305

Amazing, I hope that we will do a lot of money from now on! I am so happy that I found you!

BlueLineBets

Well everyone has their slumps, I’m not perfect. And as a newcomer to hockey you should always do you own research too, it will help you learn the wonderful game of hockey (and only wager what you can comfortably afford). But I’m happy to provide my opinion. Good Luck!

andu305

Can you also explain me some other betting options that you suggested?

Mirko Presen

What are your thoughts on dallas tonight?

BlueLineBets

Nash is not great on the road and has been really inconsistent over the past week or so, so at home I think Dallas has a chance to win, but the risk is not worth the reward in my opinion. I don’t trust either of these teams right now, seems like a coin flip to me so I would stay away.

Orhan Cypriot Ugurcag

I never feel comfortable betting against the Habs at home and Price is confirmed although he’s not been spectacular in goal lately, what are you thoughts on the Rangers game?

BlueLineBets

Definitely agree! Habs 12-1-1 at home this season, but they can’t win all their home games right? I’ll probably be nervous the whole time watching that game, ha. As far as the Rangers go, statistically speaking, they should win tonight. Yes, the Jets are much better at home, BUT Hutchinson 1-1 with a 3.9 GAA in his home games this season, and a 3.1 GAA overall this season. Rangers have been slow to start games recently, but they still have the #1 road offense with 3.5 G/game. I’d go with the Rangers, but probably the ML because the Jets are a team that doesn’t give up (averaging 1.1 3rd period goals per game), so I could see it being a battle until the end. That having been said, I think the Rangers win.

Mirko Presen

Something for tonight will be addin stuff.

Pit over 2.5g
Dallas over 2.5g
Kings in reg maybe
Calgary

Pucking Hockey

Rangers in Winnipeg off a 4-2 loss to the Islanders, with Raanta in net at +110 American odds, appears enticing.

BlueLineBets

Good value on a lot of dogs tonight. Makes me nervous, ha.

Pucking Hockey

this may help, Rangers are 8-1 in their last 9 games versus Western Conference opponents.

SanDiegoBruinsD

I like the Rangers tonight, both ML and reg. good odds for a team that has a solid tender, very high GF and will be motivated to get the road trip off to a good start.

Pucking Hockey

ah I decided to lay off of the Rangers. Jets are playing good hockey and at home in a rather small, loud rink. Crowd will be pumped against the Rags.

However, Oilers defense is severely banged up. With the Flyers offense so lethal, they should be able to run house on them, chasing Gustavsson. Gudas is replacing Del Zotto as well, need a big/defensive body on the Oilers for this game.

SanDiegoBruinsD

Jets are 8-6 home and NYR are 7-5 on road. Jets are 3-9 after a conference game, 4-9 in non-conference game, and 5-5 against a team with a winning record. For them, they get Scheifele back and Nash is out for NYR. Raanta is a better goalie than Hutchinson. In 7 of 10 games this year, Hutchinson has given up 3+ goals. Raanta has given up 2+ once in 8 games. I don’t know if NYR win, but they are getting very good odds tonight.

Stats Guru

Don’t understand your ML and REG time calls on the same game. You need NYR in REG to win – any other result you lose. Last night for example – your bets on the Caps cost you money. Is it a trying to win more money thing?

SanDiegoBruinsD

My thought is this: I feel really good about NYR winning. I think they are a much better team on both sides of the ice and in net. I think they win in reg, but the ML is a hedge if it goes to OT and then win there. Yes, it lowers my overall odds, but I’m OK with that.

Bjรธrn Kjeldsen

Also Hutchinson is confirmed.. Rangers is the best bet tonight imo

Wings_Nation88

2/2 for me last night taking Wild in regulation and Sens in ML!! For tonight, my picks tend on long shot calls but logical, I may say. My first pick would be Oilers in ML and Devils in ML also. Both teams have success against the respective opponent. Devils have what it takes to suprise Montreal. They just love playing against them and its been so since years now

Stats Guru

What’s to love? comment image

Wings_Nation88

Very good point, but all tight games. 5/12 after regulation. On their 8 losses, only two are by over 1 goal. All tight games. The only worry for Devils is Price tonight. Again, that’s my point of view.

Stats Guru

Devils are finally healthy and playing well with a 7-4-3 recent run but most of that winning was on home ice. NJD are 4-7-4 overall and 2-4-2 last eight games on the road. Canadians are running out of center-ice men but they are 12-1-1 at home. Price is always a factor. Tough game to call.

chris osborn

Sounds like under 5 goalso then

Johnny Hockey

One more time big value on the canes – But yeah, they had a OT-game last night and the Kings should be rested and ready. Like some guys here I also like these odds for the Devils! I will definitely go with the 3 picks (Tampa & and the 2 OVERS). I thought about the Bruins!? Avs with Pickard in net…

Norbert Buzรกsi

The Canes haven’t been so successfull in b2b games after an OT/SO this season so far, and are 2-7 as underdogs in LA so I would not even consider them against the Kings tonight. I am not sure about the Kings in regulation though, so I am probably avoiding it alltogether.

What about the Pens?

Johnny Hockey

Pens hmm. I don’t feel confident. For me the cats should get something out of this game!

Norbert Buzรกsi

Luongo always gets me. He is the only man on the Panthers roster that I am afraid of tonight.

Johnny Hockey

I hate to bet on panthers games ^^

BlueLineBets

I’m more confident about the Pens with Murray in net. 4-2 at home, 8-2 on the season. 2.0 GAA. Pretty solid.

Johnny Hockey

Yeah, “at home”

BlueLineBets

Zatkoff is in net for the Kings tonight. Did not play well in his only other home game so far this season (4 GA).

Stats Guru

Zatkoff was first off the ice this morning – not confirmed to start. They may have wanted to give Budaj a little extra warmup after three days off.

Bjรธrn Kjeldsen

he is confirmed

Stats Guru

Where do you have a record that he is confirmed?

AlansonD

He is @ app OwnersBox

Stats Guru

Not a very reliable source.

AlansonD

Are you sure? I’m using it not for a long time, but goalie confirmations were always right. As I saw it they pick up news, compress them and use it as their information for lineups. Cannot say more about other stats.

Stats Guru

Everyone has their own sources. I prefer waiting on LeftWingLocks and/or DailyFaceOff

Stats Guru

I can’t find him confirmed

Mirko Presen

Cause he is not.

Orhan Cypriot Ugurcag

Jeff Zatkoff

Likely

Either way, if it’s Ward vs Zatkoff, I’d take Ward all day long

Stats Guru

Need goalie updates before you can bet on the CAR vs LAK match. Thought it would be Leighton vs Budaj but looks like it may be Jeff Zatkoff for the Kings. Carolina was out-hit 27-14 last night and they play and even more bruising team tonight – that will be a factor. ‘Canes had three two-goal leads last night – do they go into a defensive shell? Liked the Kings with Budaj but waiting until goalies are confirmed now.

chris osborn

I like oilers to win ML, and Dallas Stars game to go under 5.5 , two strong goalies and 17 out of their last 29 meetings have gone under with 4 of them being pushes. Hope that trends keeps true tonight.

Henry Del Valle Sr.

I loved Oilers until I saw Gustavsson is in net.

chris osborn

Doesn’t seem to bad. Has a very nice GAA

AlansonD

Don’t think he will stay in such a form.

Henry Del Valle Sr.

Ok numbers…as a rule I do not bet with a team when they’re playing the back up goalie.

Orhan Cypriot Ugurcag

Steve Mason isn’t confirmed, so once we see Flyers confirmed goalie will be an easier decision to make

Mirko Presen

Mason is confirmed now.

Orhan Cypriot Ugurcag

I still feel Oilers have had a decent record vs the Flyers, going to be a close game.

BlueLineBets

Depending on how the 1st period goes, look to live bet on the Rangers to win the 2nd period tonight. 2nd period goal differential: Ranger +20 Jets -20

magus1349

Avalanche, Panthers, Jets and Coyotes.

All dogs huh?

Oilers last 3 games have been wins against the flyers, Steven Mason is not confirmed yet, but even with him in Net, I see the Flyers streak ending here, (ML)

Why Flyers?

SanDiegoBruinsD

when comparing offensive metrics Flyers are a better team than the Oilers. Oilers are a better defensive team but their goalie tonight is Gustavsson and he’s not great. Oilers defense is really banged up too.

Flyers are better in:

My Dad would have said you are “All talk and no action” or a “fancy” talker. I think about that kid from yesterday who said he was down his last chance, was using his credit card to bet and was a broke student. I wonder how many times your “fancy” talk convinced him to back your bets that VERY RARELY win. You are a very aggressive person with a lot of opinions that rarely produce anything. The other night you posted some “BONUS” bets from a “subscription” – they both lost miserably and you deleted the post. Please put the disclaimer back on your picks. Please put it at the top and then list your picks.

BlueLineBets

For the record, the problem with that kid was he kept putting all his money on 3-4 team parlays every night, which is a losing strategy.

Stats Guru

Doesn’t matter what he is betting if he is listening to this Bruins dude. The guy is never right but he keeps throwing up nine pick posts. It takes me several hours just to research one game. The BigBadBruin has picks on six games – how many of them did he research? I would say he skims at best and that is why he gives VERY BAD advice.

Stats Guru

Not trying to be mean or start a fight but guys like Bruin who are tossing a bunch of stuff at the wall and hoping something sticks should specify that is what they are doing and spend less time on the “fancy” talk.

SanDiegoBruinsD

You’re a fucking troll dude. If you don’t like my analysis ignore it, but keep your fucking opinions to yourself. When I post here I am respectful of others and try to make constructive comments based on facts. I have no control over what anyone does with my analysis. As I have said before, and this applies to everyone’s posts, these are opinions and you need to do your own research. As for my non-nhl tips, they came from professional handicappers, who like you and I can be wrong. There are no guarantees in sports betting. By the way, the post was not deleted. You’re not only a troll but a liar. Now go crawl back under whatever rock you came from and do not ever comment on a post of mine again.

Stats Guru

Deal in facts over here BigBadBruin and you are very rarely right about anything. Just warning the public about how horrible at making picks – a public service if you will. Please just put your disclaimer back on your horrible advice – then I won’t comment on your posts. Until you do I will keep warning people about you.

Apologize – my computer wasn’t loading the full thread – I see your “service provided” “BONUS” bet is still there.

I will throw one more question in: Nobody will go with the Bruins? Against struggling Avs withe Pickard in net.

Orhan Cypriot Ugurcag

Bruins should win that game with ease, but I hate betting against teams with such high losing streaks, I was almost correct against the preds when Avs almost surprised, statistically they should lose, but they need a win so I’m not sure.

Mirko Presen

I was thinking about them ,but have not decided yet maybe on a combo.

BlueLineBets

Second of a back to back after an OT game where they had to fight back from 0-3 down and most likely Rask not in net? Avs actually better on the road. I’ll stay away.

Orhan Cypriot Ugurcag

Another note, Calvin Pickard is in net for the avs tonight, so far has gone 3-0-0 with a 2.10 GAA and .932 SV% on the road.

Henry Del Valle Sr.

I do not like the Bruins in this spot. Although I cannot stomach putting any money on the Avs right now.

Orhan Cypriot Ugurcag

Bruins have never really been great at home either.

Arto Reinikainen

Last time the Bruins beat the Avs at home was in… 1998.

Normally i don’t think these type of stats matter that much, but that’s crazy. 8 underdog wins in a row by the Avs.

AlansonD

Underdog project:
Colorado ML ODD 2.6 with 2 units
OT project:

Dallas – Nashville ODD 3.85 with 0.5 units

My model agrees with the Dal/Nash OT pick. I think that is going to be a fun game to watch (but not bet, ha).

You had nice OT picks last night, but you threw them in a combo! If you have also a nice OT hitrate, maybe you should give it a try. I also don’t like it, but there could be nice money if things keep coming. :))

BlueLineBets

Thanks! I actually didn’t do that combo last night, it wasn’t an official play for me because I try not to do combos unless it is a very small amount just for fun. But I did put 1/2 unit on the Ducks/Canes OT so it’s all good!

BlueLineBets

Woo. Good night for me tonight. 3-1-1 with my NHL picks and so far so good stretching my Thursday Night Football streak to 4-0. Go Chiefs! Hope everyone else if having a profitable evening!

Orhan Cypriot Ugurcag

I end up losing a lot of bets due to putting too many in an accumulator and losing one example tonight was the late Oilers upset, any advice? I usually hate doing singles because lack of value from odds. I usually get a lot of predictions correct, I tend to lose because of the accumulator bets

BlueLineBets

I know the odds on single bets aren’t great compared to parlaying bets, but in the long run they are way more profitable. The odds on parlays are much better, but the value (estimated return on investment) goes waaaaaaaay down because every leg you add drastically increased the chances you walk away with nothing. It’s not going to get you rich quick, but playing single bets is a much more reliable way to increase your bankroll over time.

If you absolutely want to play a parlay, you could play 1 unit on 3 individual bets, and then maybe a 1/4 or 1/2 unit on a parlay. That way you don’t lose everything when you miss one bet. For example: tonight I played my 5 individual bets and I went 3-1-1, but I also put a very small wager down on a 3 leg parlay. That way you can get a little boost if you hit your parlay, but you won’t lose everything if you miss one. It’s really hard to make money consistently gambling on sports, that’s why the bookies make so much money. The best betters in the world hit like 60% of their wagers, so hitting 100% on a 3 or 4 leg parlay is hard.

If you are going to do parlays, I would recommend sticking to 2 leg parlays. Odds go from like 13/5 to 6/1 when you go from 2 to 3 legs (assuming -110 odds on each bet). But honestly your best bet is to build your bankroll slowly over time with single bets. If you are going to put a bunch of legs in there, don’t bet a lot. Sometimes I’ll do a 4-5 leg parlay but only bet like $5, just for fun because the odds of winning are so low.

In my experience, you can’t view gambling on sports as a get rich quick thing. Patients is key!

Orhan Cypriot Ugurcag

Okay thank you for the advice man, I mean what you said makes sense, because if tonight I did what you did, I would have won a lot more than I did, I guess I just need to learn that over-time the bankroll will build up as you win your single bets.

BlueLineBets

Exactly! Any time man. If you have other questions you can reach me @BlueLineBets on twitter. Good luck!
