The Flyers amazingly extended their winning streak to 10 last night. The Avalanche gave them a tough game but they kept strong. I think that’s what is most impressive about this run – they have had some TOUGH games but hang on there and have a crazy confidence.
We won with the Over 5 goals in the Tampa Bay Lightning vs Calgary Flames game. Tampa came out strong and looking to put their poor performances behind them. They looked a bit slack in the 3rd period but their offense delivered.
We lost with the Bruins vs the Penguins. We expected the Bruins to battle hard with the Pens and they did, but Pittsburgh took it in OT. The usually solid Bruins penalty kill was disappointing last night as they allowed the Pens to score twice on power plays.
We don’t have any tips today. We went over everything this morning and there was a few possibilities but we wanted to wait to sit on them and wait till later. There are a lot of strong possibilities but we couldn’t whittle it down and have decided to have no tips today, rather than take some we aren’t comfortable with.
Here’s what we were looking at:
– Blackhawks to beat the Islanders. Islanders are a mess again and Darling is hot and the Hawks look like they’re getting going on a winning run.
– Ducks/Bruins Over 5 or Ducks to win. The latter assuming Rask isn’t in net although even if he is, he’s performing average this last little while.
– Coyotes to beat the Leafs. Really though the only factor that had us considering this was Mike Smith and his overall performances against Toronto, plus the Leafs run so hot and cold that the price made the Coyotes appealing.
– Jets to beat Panthers. In the key stats the Panthers are slightly better but we do like the Jets at home and after Laines mistake on Sunday we’d like to see the whole team bonding over that and helping him get through it. On the flip side it could be eating away at him and after a 4 day break decided to skip.

Zatkoff in Net most likely
1-1 last night for less than a unit loss, first down night in a week. I like the under in the Coyotes/Leafs game. Andersen has been really good his last five games, and Smith isn’t bad either. Both teams averaging less than two goals a game the last two weeks. With the line at 5.5 I think it’s worth a shot.

Dude. You don’t know what you are talking about. I clearly take responsibility for my losses, as evidenced by the losses listed on my page over the past week. If you receive the email I sent my subscribers, with each pick and explanation, then you would know what is and is not an official pick. It’s just like how above Graeme and Scott say “this is what we’re thinking about” but not an official tip. I’d rather not argue on the community board here about this. If you want to have a civil conversation about the why it makes sense then DM me on twitter.

They gave us some tips that they want to come back and be part of the playoffs. They lost last 3 games against hawks so the game is in new york and hawks are not well fit atm and its good time to beat them ? I trust to that game more than others.
Not sure I agree about this being a good time to beat the Hawks. They are 3-0-1 their last 4 and are finally getting healthy with Toews and Seabrook back. And they have done most of their recent winning without Kane scoring (0 goals in the last 8 games). Maybe I’m a little biased as a native Chicagoan, but this seems to me more like they are about to go on a run, not slump. Not to mention Darling has been awesome in net.

I have Detroit ML for today. I don’t think they would let 4 losses in a row but it’s the NHL where anybody could beat anybody 🙂
Picks
Detroit (ML) – I feel Detroit will bounce back today against an opponent they have managed to play well against throughout the years, Zatkoff is also likely to be in net which against a detrot team desparate for a win, looks like a gift from Odin.
Coyotes (ML) – Insane odds on the money line considering coyotes have started to play better as of late, Smith is also capable of stopping anything the Leafs throw at him so I’ll say why not and go for it, considering Coyotes have had a good record against the leafs too.
Wild (ML) – Preds are good at home, but that hasn’t really been displayed on many occasions this season, so I’ll start using the term, above average at home, Wild are hot right now, Dubnyk is playing extremely well and it’s almost impossible to score on him at the moment, coupled with an extremely potent Wild defence, I feel the hot hand will continue to stay hot against an average Preds team at the moment.

Yeah, I agree, too much to lay, but they did get beat by 28 last week against Atlanta. I’m on a 4-0 streak on Thursday night ATS but I think I’m sitting this one out.

Honestly I see more value teasing Seattle down than LA up. There is sooooo much turmoil with the Rams this week. They didn’t even have a head coach until like a day ago! And now they have to play on short rest against a Seattle team that is finding its form and always plays tough? I think they get crushed tonight, but I still think 16 is too much to lay. Bring it down to 10, maybe 9.5. I bet Seattle wins by 2 touchdowns or more. Not confident enough to pull the trigger though.
I can see that side of things for sure. But Fisher is a moron and getting a new face in there might motivate them to play hard. Plus they always play Seattle tough. 22 points is a mountain!

Nah I lost on both mine. Had Kings, Jets, Leafs ML and the Leafs totally should have won that game and of course lose in the shootout.
On my other I had the Rams +15, Under 39.5, Blues ML, Stars ML
You have to admit there is no way in hell the Seahawks should have covered that. The Rams literally gave them their first 10 pts and most of all that was an INT in the endzone late in the 3rd when it was 10-3. I literally could not believe they didn’t call it a pick after review…

Yeah they are, aggravating honestly. Those Seahawk calls bring back awful memories as a GB fan as well. They always seem to get so lucky. Its uncanny

Yeah, i’d say Ducks ML isn’t a bad play by any means. I think even if the game goes to OT they win it in the end – no pressure on the Ducks atm and the Bruins should feel the pressure/fatigue.
Also, the Ducks won the last time they were underdogs at Boston.
I had 4 OT picks tonight. Ducks-Bruins, Hawks-Islanders, Leafs-Coyotes and Jets-Panthers. I decided i’ll pick 2 to post here because OT’s are such high variance that there’s always a chance everything goes wrong. Well of course i picked the ones that went wrong -___-

Sometimes i like to do system bets where i pick 4 possible OT games and do a double. So if i get 2 right, then those 2 games are multiplied with eachother. If i get 3 right, then it’s basically 3 doubles, etc.
Single bets are better if i get 1 right and 3 wrong, because with the system bet that would be a losing bet. But most of the time it’s either none right or 2-3. I might just post those system bets alltogether from now on.
Sometimes I also do 2/3 system bets! But they are only fine with high odds.
Yeah, i think the only place to do this effectively is Nordicbet, where the baseline OT odds for NHL are set at 4.00, head and shoulders above rest of the bookers.
