Only a few games last night but we’ve got a busy Saturday when it comes to the NHL, for February 23rd 2013.
Yesterday the Penguins got a nice victory over Florida, but it was overshadowed by a possible season-ending injury to Malkin.

Ouch! He’s apparently experiencing concussion-like symptoms. Hopefully it’s just a bit of whiplash and he’ll be back on the ice within a week.
The Blackhawks also made history, with a huge come from behind victory over the San Jose Sharks. Congrats to the Blackhawks – just an amazing achievement. The other game on Friday was the Canucks game which was a complete snorer.
12 games on the board today. A lot of very interesting games as per usual – most teams are close in terms of points this season. Leafs visit Ottawa with both teams on 22 points, and Tampa Bay visit Carolina, with both on 17 points. Rangers visit my Habs for an interesting game as well.

Toronto Maple Leafs vs Ottawa Senators Betting Tips: Under 5 Goals
While I’m not a big fan of betting the “under 5” I quite l ike it with the Leafs vs the Senators. Just be sure to check out our live betting odds page to make sure you get the best value for this one. I’m currently seeing +118 at Pinnacle.
Leafs vs Sens games are notoriously low in scoring, and even more this season with both teams performing exceptionally well defensively. Anderson in particular is sick with just 1.49 games conceded against him.
The Leafs also are struggling to score a lot except for Van Riemsdyk who is really strutting his stuff lately. I can see this one being a nice low scoring game with 3-4 goals max. And if it hits the 5 then at least we get a push and our money back. So bet the Under for Leafs vs Sens.
Montreal Canadiens vs New York Rangers Betting Tips: Habs To Win
The Habs easily beat the Rangers on the road on Tuesday, and with Rick Nash still out I’m very confident about this pick. I expected the odds to be about -140 or -150 for the surging Habs, yet instead as long as we shop around we’re getting -120 at 5Dimes.
This is great odds – not much has changed since last week. If anything the Habs are stronger than on Tuesday, PLUS they are at home.
I’m all over the Habs here – bet them to win.
Tampa Bay Lightning vs Carolina Hurricanes Betting Tips: Lightning To Win
The last time these two teams played was back in January, where the Lightning destroyed the Hurricanes 4-1. Going into this game Tampa haven’t been on the best run, but they’ve got a great opportunity here against Carolina.
The Hurricanes are struggling defensively at the moment due to injuries. They’ve also lost two in a row and I just can’t see them winning here, with the Lightning starting to look like they know how to play again. If it wasnt’ for Staal the Hurricanes would be in a worse spot, but one man can only do too m uch.
Best odds for this one are at 5Dimes – +110 odds compared to even elsewhere. Would you prefer to bet $100 to win $100 or $100 to win $110? That’s what I thought – bet this at BetOnline..
