It was a winning night last night as we took the LA Kings to beat the New York Islanders. We took them with overtime/shootout and although we didn’t need that, it was still nice to have that insurance just in case.
It was a quiet night for goals with all 3 games going under. The Knights put in Subban but he only had 22 shots on net against him as the Knights went 4-1-0. The Knights are now 2nd place in the Pacific and 3rd place in the West on 8 points. That’s pretty damn impressive.
Buffalo got their first win of the season on the road in Anaheim. The Ducks have been a very inconsistent team and hard to back from a betting standpoint the last couple of years and it looks to be the same again this year. Bets on them may be few and far between.
Kings/Islanders had a tight game. We had based our pick on Quick being in as we thought we saw that confirmed earlier – so Kuemper being in net had us sweating. Luckily he got the W.
Tonight there’s just one game with two 4-1-0 teams.
Lightning vs Red Wings Betting Tips:
We spent way too long discussing this one earlier. That can be the thing with just one game – a tendency to overanalyze.
End of the day we didn’t like anything. Only thing we were leaning towards was the Over 5.5 but it looks like Jimmy Howard will be in net and he’s on a roll right now.
Instead we are going to do a bet just for fun tonight – a player prop.
We are going to bet Kucherov to get a goal.
The odds for that are about 2.40. You could go for the less riskier get a point but it’s 1.50 odds.
Kuch has scored in all 5 game sfor Tampa this season as well as picking up 3 assists. He has a great record against the Wings with 7 goals in 15 games as well as 5 assists.
We hate to watch a game without a bet so that’s what we’re on tonight.
