A great night last for the tips.
We had two tips and went 1-0 with a push.
We had over 6 in the Lightning vs Isles game and the Isles won 5-3. The Isles were up 4-0 at one point but then the Lightning scored 3 of their own. An empty net goal for the Isles was the final goal.
Our push was over 6 in the Maple Leafs vs Habs game and the Leafs won 6-0. This looked like a complete loss for us when it was 2-0 for the Leafs after the 2nd. The 3rd was a great period of hockey even better if you’re a Leafs fan. Toronto scored 4 in that period. The 3rd was a rough one with a couple big hits and fights.
And we also have our first snowfall of the year in Ontario, Canada. So that means everyone on the roads forgets how to drive in snow and to expect plenty of delays as morons slide off the road.
A decent day of hockey for us with 5 games. So let’s get to the tips.
Islanders vs Hurricanes Betting Tips:
These teams just played each other on November 16th and it was the Isles winning 6-4.
The Isles have been playing some great hockey winning their last 3 games. Over those 3 games they have scored 16 goals. On the season they’re averaging 3.68 GPG.
The Canes have scored at least 3 goals in 6 straight games.
This should be a good game and I expect it to be a high scoring one as all signs point to that.

Avalanche vs Red Wings Betting Tips:
This is one that I’m not a fan of – I don’t trust the Red Wings and can’t really find a reason – but Graeme really likes it today and he’s written up below. As it’s not a unanimous bet it’s not an official tip.
The Avs have had an up and down season with their offense doing well but they tend to struggle on the road. They’re going up against a Red Wings team who haven’t lost at home in regulation since October 22nd when the Canucks beat them.
The Red Wings have been on a nice run as of late with victories over the Flames, Sabres and a SO loss to the tough Blue Jackets.
Wings are a team who seem to play a lot better at home than on the road. The home/away stats is enough for Graeme to advise taking the Red Wings in regulation today.

Firstly, a shoutout to SDB – yesterday he called right on Kings and I didn’t jump on it and then wished I had. I as a result immediately went away from betting Ottawa v Coyotes (I had a funny feeling) and went with Leafs at his suggestion. Eventually took Leafs, Tampa, Predators and St Louis. Tampa obviously didn’t pan out and wish I’d listened to the NYI ‘lit’ offence argument…Thank goodness for Preds, Leafs and for the Blues pulling through in OT- so I did pretty well in all. Celtics at -6 in the NBA also added to the bank (after being behind 15 points at one point). Here goes today’s tips and hopefully more of the same!
Rangers ML – This is a tip I’ll also be taking in reg. The Senators couldn’t stop the worst side in the NHL in the Coyotes, and don’t see them stopping a rolling Rangers team who are notoriously hard to beat at home. I went with Leafs yesterday, because I had 0 faith in Montreal who lost in reg to Arizona beating a Leafs team who have been winning game after game. The same goes here, the Rangers only lost to a strong defensive Bluejackets and desperate Blackhawks team- on the road. At home they’re much better having won their last 5. The Senators have leaked goals like crazy , 3 or more for the last 5. Considering those goals were leaked to teams such as the Avalanche, the impotent (for the moment anyway) Penguins and awful Coyotes you get the point. The Senators can score, but boy can they concede. None of that spells good news for them against a high powered Rangers offence backed up by Lundqvist at home.
Detroit ML – I’m taking this for the same reason I took the Preds yesterday, the Avalanche suck on the road. The Ads have let in 4 goals on more in their last 5, being shelled 5 by the Preds last night , 4 by the Senators and 6 by the Islanders. In contrast, the Red Wings have posted back to back dominant wins at home beating the Sabres 3-1 last night and the Flames 8-2. For what its worth, their last meeting the Red Wings won 5-1, and the Red Wings a re far improved team this season.
Islanders ML- This is a play based on the immense value. The Islanders proved their quality last night, beating the best team in the league 5-3, scoring just 51 seconds into the game. Winning 3 games in a row, and winning the last 3 meetings you have to like their chances here. They’ve just beaten the best team in the league in style, and are the underdogs? Carolina have only won 2 of their last 5 at home, and coming up against a confident Islanders team will be one hell of a challenge, and in this case too much of a challenge.
Vegas ML – Say what you like, but I’m taking Vegas because they’ve lost just once at home. The Kings have only won 1 of their last 5 and when they met in preseason barely beat the knights. Until the Knights start to register losses at home you’ve got to take them. The Kings have won 4 of their last 5 away, but those wins came against far weaker opponents – a weakened ducks side, a very poor Bruins team, the inconsistent Canadiens and a Senators side that loves letting in goals. I simply have more faith in the Knights even with their goalie troubles.

I really liked Isles performance yesterday vs Bolts. That 1P was just awesome! Bolts are better team overall, but they just decided to show up on the 3P and it was to late!
