Well its back to business as usual now that the All Star game is finished.
The Flames placed Jaromir Jagr on waivers which he cleared and the Flames then sent him to HC Kladno of the Czech League, a team he co-owns. I think this may be the end of his incredible NHL career. He sits 2nd all time in points behind Gretzky and 3rd in games played behind Howe and Messier. If this is indeed the end of Jagr he will go down as one of the greatest to ever play the game.
A nice night of hockey for us with 12 games which is a great way to get the playoff races underway.
Canadiens vs Blues Betting Tips:
The Habs have a lot of work to do if they are to make the playoffs. They currently sit 10 points back of the final wildcard spot. Weber and Danault are out and there’s no timetable for their return. Andrew Shaw has now joined them on the IR where he is expected to be out for 4-6 weeks.
The Blues are wrapping up their 4 game home stand where they have gone 2-1 so far.
The Habs lousy road record, 8-13-1, and the Blues decent home record, 17-10-0 suggest that this is a game the Blues should win. And I agree

Ducks vs Bruins Betting Tips:
The Bruins are on an incredible run an I normally would be taking them to win this game. They have earned a point in 18 straight games.
But it’s the Ducks success against Boston that has me off of picking the Bruins in this gamw. The Ducks have won 8 in a row against the Bruins.
The last three games between these two teams have hit 6 or higher and 4 of the last 5. I expect that trend to continue in this game.

FIRST thoughts:
> Isles reg
> Blues reg
> Avs ML
Ok so faves should roll on the second 1/2 of season right??
At first glance Boston Stars NJ and Bolts!!!
Golden Knights -1.5 (+230)
Dallas Stars -1.5 (+155)
Tampa Bay Lightning -1.5 (+240)
Nashville Predators -1.5 (+175)
New York Islanders -1.5 (+180)
Let the games begin ??
Today’s picks:
Blues ML
Knights ML
Penguins ML (yes every time I’ve picked them they’ve screwed me over but I think they’ll get it done tonight)
Canucks ML (gut instinct)
Best of luck everyone!
Ps. Can’t wait for Super Bowl 52! Pats nation boys!!!
I have also pens why do you pick them if they screw you all the time, now they screw me to? haha
that’s because you two have a bromance over Sid
You drunk?
LoL
Bromance over Sid?! You mad bro? I’m more of a Malkin fan lol
go Pats! I’m a little worried; there have been some monster bets on Eagles ML
Yea everyone I know is placing their bets on Eagles. I believe it’s because of the odds for the Eagles but most importantly because everyone hates the damn Patriots and just want to see them lose. But hey, didn’t they think the same thing about Atlanta last year who’s offence was killer…how did that game turn out? Haha 😉 Patriots take it for sure, Brady gets his 6th ring, wins MVP, and they cover the spread as well!
Only thing I’m concerned about is whether Gronk will be clear to play!
I certainly hope you are right. When it comes down to it we have the GOAT QB & coach so hopefully experience wins out
Thanks Scott.
NJ/Buf
Like the Sabres chances tonight. Before the All star game, Lehner had a double shutout, albeit against the Oilers & Canucks and W3!
In their last 5gms, Sabres GF 15/ GA 8. Devils GF 7/ GA 15 and L5. Hall might be in but Kinkaid has a 3.28GA.
LA/Stars
Believe the Stars will rebound from their loss against the Leafs. Hitchcock said the team was tired prior to that game and it showed. Based on their home record 17-7-1 Bishop’s stats at 2.46 GA and 4days off I like their chances against LA. Their road record is 14-9-2 (decent) but 3-7-0 last 10.
Good luck tonight!
I was leaning Stars ML, although the odds were weak, but needed to place my bet before I could consult the betnhl community.
I’m thinking Over 4.5 is ‘safe’. Famous last words.
AGree on Sabres, they have momentum from that great road trip and they definitely have the better netminder
Great to be back to business as usual…
I had a freebet which had to used this morning so did
Ducks v Bruins Over 4.5
Islanders v Panthers Over 5.5
Blue Jackets v Wild Over 4.5
Stars v Kings Over 4.5
GLA
Wow you’re lucky your bookie has the Isles/Panthers O/U at 5.5. My bookie has the O/U at 6.5 which I can understand based on the goalie stats:
Halak 3.16 /Reimer 3.04 & Sateri 4.59.
Do you reckon Over 5.5 is solid?
Hi jmskippy,
If you’re asking could the 5.5 O/U increase, I would assume it depends on the bookie. They may be waiting to see who the starter is for the Panthers. Either way, both goalies have terrible stats. Reimer is 3.02 and Sateri is 3.59 GA. Not to mention Sateri has only played 4gms. Daily face off has Halak 3.16 GA confirmed. Hope that helps:)
Helps fully dude!
Like the stats pull.
Where do you find starting lineups / goal tender starts?
leftwinglock and dailyfaceoff track starting goalies
Never heard of leftwinglock. Thanks for the tip:)
Check the daily face off site for goalies. Sometimes the NHL or TSN sites has them listed in their written previews as well as the ‘projected’ lineups. Other sports sites you could try are Espn or CBS sports. The Oddsmaker site gives great statistical data on both teams head to head. Forgot to mention that you have another option. You can also bet on TTG (total team goals) My bookie has it set at 2.5.
WHL-DOUBLE:
> Swift Current Broncos ML & Kelowna Rockets ML
Backstretch gang! In my opinion the ASG is silliness and the worst hockey ever. It’s even worse than regular season 3 x 3 because no one wants to get hurt. As far as I am concerned they can have it.
Tonight I’m on 4 of the NHL’s hottest teams: Avs, Knights, Preds (reg) and Bruins. Great value for Avs and Knights as road dogs. Vegas is #2, Boston #3 and Preds #4 in the first half of the season. Avs are back at #12 but before the ASG break they ripped off an 8-2 streak. I have a nasty cold so I’m not in the mood for deep analysis other than I expect the best teams in the league to continue doing what they’ve been doing.
I also like a couple of overs today:
Wild-CBJ – This is a bit of a stretch but both teams are extremely hungry for points and CBJ has gotten a good part of their offence back from the IR.
Avs-Nucks – Both teams have fast, young, skilled forwards and I see a wide open game with plenty of shots.
Bolts-Jets – this is mostly a goalie play. Domingue’s GAA is pretty high and Hutchinson hasn’t played in the NHL this season. He’s got a lot of NHL experience but the game is a lot faster in the show and both teams are going to be pressing tonight.
GLTA SDB
Hi SDB,
In their last 5 gms, The Nucks are 11 GF/ 14GA and shutout 2 times. Hope they come through for ya. On the other hand, the Avs can make up for their lack of offence:) GL
Hurricanes in regulation, one unit.
To WIN in reg: Nashville, Colorado
OVER: Islanders, Winnipeg
PARLEY, all OVERS (with minimal $): Vegas, Pittsburgh, Islanders, Colorado, Boston
The strong OVER trend for first games back after the All-Star break is important to note, so any game I can see getting to about 5 goals normally, I’m considering the Over for today. Goalie tonight for LA is Kuemper. Quick is out with injury. However the scoring and defense in the LA/Dallas matchup scares me off an Over pick.
Hiya Boys,
Made some good cash off the NBA in the days off, but eager to get back on some hockey. Today’s picks:-
POTD- Preds Reg- (80%) – Preds ended the first half of the season in the avoid category and hawks in the fade. That being said the avoid was largely regarding the Preds road form. This pick is simple – the Hawks have a tendency to be crap, and the Preds are far and away the better team. In the this case, the fade of the Hawks outweighs the avoid of the Preds, especially with Forsberg back for the Preds. This is plus money (albeit on Reg) on the Preds against a backup goalie, and both Forsberg or Glass are pretty bad and the Hawks defence (Keith looking at you) don’t do anything to help their cause. Preds are the better team on all ends of the ice, and have the home form and motivation to kick the useless Hawks around. Additionally, Preds cane out the bye week to shutout the Knights and win the game, and I like their chances to come out the break and beat the Hawks. Preds kill the Hawks.
Bruins Reg (70%) – This shouldn’t surprise any of you who follow me. The Bruins are a superb team, and even with their injuries have enough to handle the ducks. The ducks have won the last 8 meetings which does concern me, but the Bruins have won their last 8 games on 3 or more days rest. The All Star rest should definitely help the Bruins here. The Ducks have only won 3 of their last 15 games when their opponents have allowed 2 goals or less in their last game. With those stats and from what I’ve seen from both sides, I have no problem taking reg on the better team and best defensive side in the league in Bruins for a reg win at home.
Knights ML- POTD2 – (75%) – The Knights are so good they deserve pick of the day most days. Calgary has been on some what of a slide, and this is the first meeting between the sides. Considering that, I doubt the Flames like most teams in the NHL will know how to handle the Knights.
Isles ML- Sateri in net, and Isles looking somewhat better. I’ll play this because of the Panthers bad road form, and 3rd choice goalie in net alone.
Avs ML (60%)- Pure simple value play. Avs have the Wild hot on their heels and want to keep their playoff spot. They have more than enough potential to down a Canucks side which hasn’t been at its best at home.
GL!
Adding Dallas Reg- Too good at home to lose again especially to a struggling kings side.
what do you think about carolina against sens?
+ for nba if youre planning to play: hezonja +7.5, cleveland 2
Taking Cavs -5.5 definitely. Hezonja ncaab?
no, orlando mario hezonja free af, gordon is out
also randolph +10.5 should pass as well
still what about carolina? 😀
I hope you’re right I like all your picks?
I am not really sure about the Boston, the streak has to end eventually, and if you also consider that Marchand is out, I will rather pass that game.
It does, but I still prefer their play without Marchand to the Ducks. Cash until I crash.
The reason for this is that I used to bet on Marchand to score and I won approximately 80% of those bets. So I can imagine that it can be a fairly significant loss for Boston.
Hey people, i hope it will be a pluss ➕ night for my picks 🙂
Ducks Reg
Sharks ML
Jackets Reg
Blues vs Montreal over 5.5
Jets vs Lightning over 5.5 and have a feeling that Jets win
Good luck everyone!
I’m not about feelings but good luck on your plays ?
Jets score 3-3 and Jets win after OT 🙂
Excited for the “real” 2nd half to start. Even though we’re past the midway point, i feel like the all-star break is always a turning point for a lot of teams. It’s the last break and teams get to reflect where they’re at, often guys come back from injuries, and the playoffs are getting closer so everybody knows they have to make a push which brings out the best in good teams – and the worst in pretenders. Not everybody are able to kick it into gear right away, but at least you see more urgency on a nightly basis. And what makes it even more fun this year is we have a ridiculous amount of teams in the race and a lot of good teams outside looking in, so virtually every game should be very competitive.
What i usually like to do is sit back for a few days to see how teams get going here. Although i did make a few bets, i liked the Preds mostly due to how much fun they have had playing the Hawks since the playoffs, Stars should take care of the Kings due to their great bounce back form in the past month or so, and the Pens im expecting to put up a solid performance in front of Murray who gets back in the crease after his dad passed away. But i wasn’t overly excited about any game tonight, mostly due to the break. Sometimes teams get out of their recent tendencies coming off a break like that, shaking things up moving forward.
Anyway, teams im mostly looking to back in this 2nd half is the teams that work the hardest. Not only does it make predicting easier when you know what you’re getting, but it creates consistency and possibly some win streaks.
Good luck !
Good evening all.
Trust you “enjoyed” the All Star Game as much as i did(n’t).
Playing low, half units due to my bookmaker refunding an earlier risk free bet.
Bruins/’Canes/Avs ML 0.5u
Press/Blues/Stars/Knights ML 0.5u
Ok returns on both.
Good luck all.
Note – my best odds (ML) were found on Vegas. 2.00 is killer. They are the best team in the NHL. Fact.
Night picks,
Ducks win,
Devils win,
Sens win,
Panthers win,
Pens win,
Hawks win,
Canucks win,
Kings win
Good luck
7/8 I think it is not bad at all for starting to 2nd half
Nice !!!! Your by far the best on here. You have a winning week every time !
Congrats a lot of dogs there.
Thank you although I would not call myself the best. 🙂 Sometimes it goes opposite and I may the one who provides worst picks. We have really very good guys here who makes deep analyses on games and share all these their knowladges with us. Whatever they say makes sense but as we all know this is NHL.
Bravo lion!
