1-0 last night. We went 2-0 with the unit bets.
The Sens vs Leafs game easily went over when the Leafs won 6-3. Marner scored twice and had 3 assists.
We had the Lightning to win in regulation and they did when they beat the Kings 4-3.
Sorry for the delay in these. My son was up all night getting sick and I slept in today.

What bothers me is that I chose Boston to win yesterday and didn’t see the trap first. MOTIVATION level is the great final mystery to solve in sports, after you’ve found the stats, trends, injury list, lineup changes, home/away situations and other “facts”. NHL players are generally spoiled rotten, undisciplined party animals in their mid-20’s, with a very short attention span. Yesterday, Boston was playing the first game of a back-to-back, followed up by today’s game against New Jersey. Boston players would be possibly focused on NJ as a legitimate threat and Conference rival, and consider Buffalo such a non-threat they couldn’t get up for the game. This situation keeps popping up in sports and deadbeat teams win over the top 10% when the top ten% are at home. This can’t usually be found in stats, but the reasons supporting these results are just as solid as the reason why Buffalo won’t win the Stanley Cup this year. Betters have to consider the whole picture, and I swear that motivation level on a given day is 50% of the pie determining the result. Yesterday I didn’t see the trap, I was fooled by the stats. I think it was possible to see the strong clue that a Boston motivation problem was highly likely.

Sorry you lost your bet. You’re right, motivation is key and can’t be measured by the stats. Of course the stats, goalies, injuries, schedules, factor in when trying to predict the winner. Sabres were physical (33 hits) and took advantage of 18 giveaways. Bruins had 27SOG but the Sabres blocked 20. They were disciplined too with 2PIM. Think the Bruins have the edge in the crease today. Devils gave up 50SOG to the Jackets! Unless they tighten up and support their goalie (not confirmed) they could lose this one. Anytime you lose a bet it sucks. Harder to swallow when your pick is a heavy favourite. Anything can happen and there’s no guarantees. Keeping that in mind, (hard to hear) but the onus is on the bettor to decide the pick, line and amount. We’re angry at the team for losing our bet but aren’t we just angry at ourselves for losing our objectively and getting caught up in the prospect of making lots of money? Take it easy:)

I’m a firm believer in Jets but I’ve been wrong before.
Everyone underestimates the Sabres and the Coyotes. They’re two teams that are better than their results often show. Last night was a game I took on the over instead of a side. Bruins weren’t worth the chalk. I expected they might not take the game very seriously (as the wild did against the Yotes).
Say that before the game and not after, thats easy!? everybody can do it that way.
