The Chicago Blackhawks finally ended their long losing streak, and they did it in typical ludicrous hockey fashion by blowing out one of the top 5 teams in the East.
It was a massive 7-1 as all of the shots the Hawks have been piling up on teams finally worked out – and they were able to stop the goals going in at the other end too.
It was a night full of shocks and upsets with Tampa and Boston also losing. What a 1st period performance that was by the Canucks. We cashed with our 1u play of the Leafs/Penguins over in what was a great game which went over with ease which was nice.
There was some good live betting chat during the games and some good tips flowing around so be sure to hang around in the comments and check that out during todays games. I only posted the one suggestion which was the Wings to win. They were actually underdogs when they were 1-0 up on the Preds and I looked at the math and it looked like an +EV play.
We’ve got games all day today starting at noon EST. Honestly nothing I really like today that much. Just a couple of 0.5u plays – one where I see value in a big underdog, one where I’m too hesitant to pull the trigger on it being an official tip.
It’s one of those days where I could argue for both sides on a lot of the games and see a lot of tight games. I’m just doing a fun bet today where I bet all 7 games to have overtime. I bet them in doubles & trebles. It’s an -EV bet in the long run but always a fun bet for me on a day like this with potentially high rewards. Something to do while I have a lazy Sunday watching the final round at Pebble Beach along with the hockey.

Panthers to win: 0.5u. A good price here considering the Panthers recent run on the road. They’re a team fighting for wins and with confidence. Jets got that big win on Friday which we backed but they’ve been a bit shaky and I think the Panthers have a good chance of taking this game.
Avs to win: 0.5u. MacKinnon is back which is great but something like that can also temporarily upset a team. Avs were playing a bit above the mean on that run anyway and so I’m hesitant to fully back them here. Just the small play.

It was an awful night yesterday as both Bolts and Bruins lost, but I’m just trying to forget about all that lol..
Right now I’m struggling to justify the odds that are given on San Diego Gulls (AHL) to win in reg, atm it is 4.00 and 1.65 on Regin! Yesterday Gulls beat the Reign 5-2 at home meeting them again away tonight. Gulls has 8 straight wins, with two matches going to OT. On the other hand Regin are 3 – 2 – 3 last 8 matches. H2H this season is in Gulls favor (3-1-1). This can go both ways but for 4.00 I will try.
Combining Gulls with North Bay Battalion and the Leafs all in reg. Good luck guys!

Hope all the ‘live’ bets came through for ya and any of you (starting out) that tried the ‘next team to score line’ on the Van/Bos’ line didn’t lose a lot of money. Perfect example where you see the ‘underdog’ (Van) who don’t score a lot, go up a couple of goals and pick the fav (Bos) to score next (logical prediction) but Van scores 5 in a row! Who could predict that? Rare yes but goes to show ya when you’re watching any game and the fav is playing well, it doesn’t necessarily turn into goals. One bad bounce and before you know it, the dog scores! ! Anyways, just part of the learning experience…and trying to stick to your bankroll. Good luck tonight guys:)

Hurricanes were shutout vs the Isles but played well. Puck didn’t bounce their way. Jersey on a btob and could be tired playing the Bolts last night so the Canes could come on top:)

Devils are bad playing on no rest, but that being said Devils are pulling rabbits out of hats right now. Devils beat them 5-2 a few weeks back, so they may be a fighting dog here.
Well yesterday was f*cking sh*t. I went far too heavy on a bruins/vegas parlay, and suffered to the tune of £500 including my losses of the wild, bruins, sabres,bolts and Preds. Horrendous night with some ludicrous upsets. I will freely admit my bankroll took a massive hit because I was far too confident in the wild and especially the Bruins. I had quite a few parlays with Vegas,Bruins Vegas, Bolts Vegas, Wild etc. So as you can imagine everything went tits up. I made about £100 back on Kvitova in the tennis, by betting her when she was down, but recovering 1/5th of what I lost last night isn’t anything to shout about. Oh and yesterday I had a bet on Kvitova to beat Wozniacki (which she did) but I accidentally cashed it out for £2 when she was losing (I had bet £50) so things have started sour this weekend. FML.
Todays picks-
POTD- Avs (75%) – Avs are a home fortress and currently sit 3 points out of a playoff spot. They need this win badly. The Oilers just keep losing, and after a long losing road trip are most likely tired and pissed off. MacKinnon is back, and that should boost the team. Simply put, I thought the Oilers would bounce back against the Yotes, but instead found themselves shutout. The Oilers are too bad to back- take the Avs who have more to play for.
Pens Reg/ML (65%/70%) – The Pens are in superb form right now, and despite being weak on the road should manage just fine here. The Jackets are being overestimated by bookies, considering they’ve won just 4 of their last 14. The Pens have lost just 5 of their last 20. The Pens offence is firing again, whilst it seems the Jackets can only score against subpar opponents. The Pens won their last road game as a dog, and regardless of rest think they’ll do so here again. Im not trusting a jackets side that has scored 2 goals or less in regulation time at home in their last 11 games.
Jets Reg (60%) – I wasn’t sure about the Jets in their game versus the Avs, but they swept they aside with ease. The Panthers are no pushovers, and have been on an excellent run lately winning 7 of their last 8. I was very much not a fan of this pick until I noticed one thing. The Panthers wins have all come against fairly weak opposition, or against sides who struggle to win at home. Wins against the Flames, Canucks(x2),Oilers, Wings , Sabres and Islanders are not about to impress me that much. In their last 3 games the Panthers have given up 11 goals. The Jets are a home juggernaut, and in a different league in terms of home performances to the sides listed above. They also have no problem putting the puck in the the net on home ground. That being said I think the Panthers get shot down back to earth here, and have their streak cracked by the Jets
TTO 3.5 Jets- With this having cashed in 14 of the last 20 games the Jets have played at home, I think its worth a play against a Panthers side who aren’t the best defensive team in the NHL.

Over 5.5 is also a good play with Jets! Very rarely low scoring games.

Whoops, as I write that Flyers score. Ffs too late.
Still taking Flyers ML now that Rangers have equalised.
Adding – Leafs ML (65%)- Leafs have lost just 3 of their last 13 games, and neither side has a rest advantage here. What the Leafs do have right now though is an electric offence, having scored 3 or more goals in all but 3 of their last 13 games. Detroit isn’t bad per say, but with Leafs wanting to get back on the win column I’m not sure Detroit has the guns to stop them.
More travel time from Nash to Pit;) Howard plays more than McElinney so Wings could sneak a couple past him but Leafs offense is better. Even if both are on a btob, think the Leafs have the edge.
I think Leafs are too offensively aggressive right now not to back.
Considering matchups and recent play, I see five strong leans:
1) Toronto and Colorado to WIN, and
2) Toronto and Winnipeg games go OVER
3) Colorado UNDER (because Edmonton will not contribute more than one goal and Colorado will be able to coast after scoring three.)

G&S, and anyone else. What do you think of a Devils win tonight? I know its a back to back, but Devils beat the Canes 5-2 just a few weeks back and should be motivated after that Tampa win surely?
Looking at the odds I’d say its a play for sure. Canes are one of those teams where if you bet against them at 2.00 blindly every time, it’s probably an +EV bet. And I’m seeing as high as 2.65 so yeah it’s a play and I’d advise a 0.5u play on it for our tips unit sizing.

It’s a tight one and I think the odds are dead on for this one. Love the way the Pens are playing at the moment but still not convinced on them on the road. Add in B2B, potential over confidence etc. If I was betting I’d rather be on Pens for sure in that one but I think the price is just right on them. But then I’m being overly cautious of them on the road atm
I think they may have turned their road play around in St Louis. That 4-1 game, they dominated in all areas of the ice. Besides, the Jackets have been really poor lately. Beating the Islanders and Devils is nothing to shout home about. The Flyers conceded 4 to the Rangers today, and all the jackets could get was one??? I think Pens are a strong dog play.

McElhinney has a strong record so far this season going
6-4-0, 2.27, 0.932, including 2 SO. I think Babcock wants to win back in Detroit. Add to this that Mike Green is ruled out, TOR’s road record of 16-12-3 vs DET’s 12-11-7 home standing, that’s worth it.
