It was a nice winning night last night, although a nailbiter with that Penguins/Bruins over 6 goals. We had to wait till almost the end of the 1st period before that one went over!
Wish every bet could be that easy. We had to sweat a bit on the Preds/Oilers game as the Oilers took a 2-0 lead, and I was ready with my “I told you so” texts to Scott about the Preds. Luckily I held off as they mounted a big comeback and won. Man – so even with a 2 goal head start the Oilers can’t win. What a brutal team.
Our 0.5u play didn’t pan out as the Wild lost their lead and the Coyotes got back on the winning track with a great 5-3 victory.

Islanders vs Canadiens Betting Tips:
Defensively both teams are very poor especially on the home/road split we’ve got tonight. Offensively the only negative really is the Habs however their last few road games we’ve seen them produce goals more often than not. 3 against the Knights, 2 against the Coyotes and 3 against the Flyers – with them being shut out against the Avs in there.
Islanders offense can be hot/cold and these teams only racked up 4 in Montreal a couple of days ago, but I do see a better offensive performance from the Islanders. With the Habs actually competing a bit better lately I like them to battle to keep up with them.

Panthers vs Sabres Betting Tips:
if the Sabres play spoilers tonight so be it. They actually have a good record on the road in terms of at least forcing a game to OT so that’s a bit of a concern.
However I like the Panthers at home – always have, and after the Sabres wins over the Bruins and Lightning I’d like to think the Panthers don’t underrestimate them.

Hurricanes to win in regulation -0.5u. It feels a bit macabre betting on the Hurricanes due to the passing of Jordan Staal’s infant daughter, but it is what it is. This is their first home game since the incident and it’s going to be an emotional one. We’re going to bet the Hurricanes get the W on this one in regulation.
