There was some road bumps along the way, but last years two Stanley Cup finalists made it to the next round of the 2017-2018 NHL Playoffs.
The Penguins got the W in a thrilling 8-5 game. Couturier was in absolute beast mode for the Flyers and while they are losers, that guy came out a winner. He had a torn MCL in the last couple of games and that’s unreal. Major respect to the guy for that.
The Preds got a nice and dominant win over the Colorado Avalanche as the Avs lost their fight. That’s the type of momentum boosting win the Predators need as they go into the next round.
We went 1-1 with our series advisement on those as we had Pens -1.5 and Preds -2.5.
Now we turn our attention to tonight. It’s Monday, April 23rd and the Leafs host the Bruins down 2-3, while the Jackets host the Capitals and are also down 2-3.
Going to be a very interesting night as both games seem like they could go either way.
Bruins vs Maple Leafs Game 6 Betting Tips:
Scott: Freddy Andersen had a huge game and the Leafs are still in it thanks to the 4-3 win. Babcock mixed his lines up and it worked for him and the Leafs.
With the Leafs having a chance to force a game 7 and this game also being in Toronto I expect the Leafs to be ready. I like their chances of a win here and the odds are good for that including OT so I’m going with that and hope we will have an awesome game 7 to enjoy

Graeme: A lot of this really comes down to Andersen it seems. If the Leafs are going to perform, they need him to perform. Even though he let in 3 goals in the last game he was still in excellent form and deserves most of the credit for the Leafs win.
When the Leafs have the confidence of that goalie behind them they can attack more and get some more creative offense going and that’s a game changer.
In saying that I felt the Bruins took awhile to show up for the last game. I wasn’t impressed with their performance.
Andersen bounced back strong a couple of games ago when he was pulled, and I actually think Rask will do the same tonight. I still think the Bruins are the superior team.

Capitals vs Blue Jackets Game 6 Betting Tips:
Scott: This has been an incredible series and 3 of the 5 games have needed OT to be decided.
With it being so close I’m not sure who will win. The Caps have won the last 3 so it would seem like it’s their game. But with their backs against the wall we cant count out the Jackets just yet.
I’ll go with the Over in this one as I personally feel more confident with that

Graeme: The Capitals have put up 3 wins in a row to completely take over this series. Both games have been extremely tight and now it’s must-win for the Jackets.
This is one of those games where I generally toss the stats out the window, and get an idea of the dressing room atmosphere instead. I spent time reading all the media and I LOVE the atmosphere from the Jackets at the moment. This is a team who want to win this game so freaking bad and if that translates to the ice, they’ll probably match the Vegas Knights in terms of work ethic.
