We stepped around the land mines of the post all star weekend break to get ourselves a win last night.
We had the over in the Rangers vs Devils game and despite not a ton of shots on goal, both keepers struggled and the Rangers ran out 4-3 winners.
There was a hard fought battle in Boston with the Flyers taking it in OT and another hard fought game with the Jets beating the Jackets.
And now we come to February 1st, 2019 with the majority of the teams coming off the prolonged break.
Ugh.
I’ve really been dreading going through this one today I must admit. Part of me just wants to skip all the games but looking at them I do see potential bets.
So it is with much reluctance and with a lot of wariness I present to you todays tips.
Capitals vs Flames Betting Tips:
Who would have ever thought we’d see the Capitals as home underdogs? Yet here we are.
They are on a sensational 7 game skid. What’s worse is for the most part it was against good opposition so that’s got to hurt the Capitals confidence. Now they’ve had a week to mull it over.
There’s multiple issues with this team and of course they are without Ovechkin tonight. For the record Caps are 13-14-2 in games without him.
Despite the Caps results I do feel looking back at the last few games they’ve been putting in the effort. And I feel like we will see maximum effort tonight.
This is one where early on I liked the Caps and spent most of the morning playing devils advocate and at the end of the day – sticking with them.

Penguins vs Senators Betting Tips:
I’ve no idea how much the “bye week” curse will prevail this season but I think there is a good chance it kicks in on this game.
The Penguins came back from the break and lost to the Devils. They had a team meeting on Tuesday and that’s something I always love. They came out fired up and beat Tampa.
I like that to continue and I think they are focused. Overconfidence is the only real issue I have here.
Sens are coming off the break. I’m thinking they’ll be rusty and Pens can do a good job on them here.
