A 1-0 night last night with the NHL Tips.

We had the Blackhawks vs Red Wings game to go over 6.5 goals and it went over in a 9 goal thriller. Blackhawks went into the third with a 4-1 lead and then the Red Wings clawed their way back amazingly. Hawks took it in OT.

Avs blew the Jets away yesterday 7-1. Winnipeg are having some serious self-confidence issues and that doesn’t bode well. I honestly think all that talk about them having an easy schedule to begin the year has gotten into their heads.

We had over 6 in Islanders/Flames and that one was a push thanks to a big third period. That was one I was very relieved by as I wasn’t going to tip that one initially then made a last minute decision. Funny how just breaking even can feel so good.

It’s Thursday, February 21st 2019 and we’ve got 11 games on the board. Nice thing is we also have a busy Friday with 5 games tomorrow so that’s good.

Big game in the East with the Habs vs Flyers. Flyers are drifting in the wild card battle so they’ll be hoping to pick up all the points there.

Lot of big games in the West too. Stars vs Blues should be an interesting one for sure. Caps and Leafs are stuttering a fair bit and they face off as well.

Looking forward to tonight from a viewing perspective although from a betting perspective it looks a bit trickier. The trade deadline is looming too. Just in case there are any late trades today you may want to hold off on betting until this evening. Let’s get to it:

Oilers vs Islanders Betting Tips:

Oilers still aren’t getting the results. McDavid missed their last game and missed practise yesterday. Not sure if he will play tonight or not but even if he is he won’t be 100% and hell even if he is, it’s the Edmonton OIlers.

Islanders have been solid on 2nd legs of B2Bs, have shown a lot of fight and motivation on bounce backs and the price is nice.

Gotta think they can take out the Oilers tonight.

No More Tips Today:

I’ve went through every game and there’s nothing else I am feeling really confident about. I even wrote up a big one on Rangers vs Wild that I’ll post below just so I didn’t write it all for nothing ha. One of those where after writing it all, my confidence left me.

For the record I liked Canadiens vs Flyers over 6 Goals. Huge game for the Flyers and they have also shown a lot of fight and a good offense on the bounce back and during this run. Habs are usually competitive at home.

I have a sneaky suspicion the Stars will win but can’t bet against the Blues right now. They’re finding ways to win and that’s always impressive.

Here’s my Rangers vs Wild write-up:

I’ve been very hesitant to back the Rangers or anything involving them after that 3rd period showing against the Carolina Hurricanes. However since then they have shown a lot of fight and even if they are losing they are battling hard.

They’ve got a long ways to go if they want to actually make the playoffs and I can’t see it happening, but they’ve got a bee in their bonnet about something and are playing motivated.

Then there’s the Minnesota Wild. They just can’t get anything going at the moment and are dropping down the standings. Boudreau walked out of the conference after that loss to the Ducks. They’re struggling to score.

I just see no reason not to take the Rangers here. I do believe a large part of it is puck luck and the Rangers were lucky not to lose against the Canes. But you’ve got to think confidence for both sides will be a factor. I will admit this is one where when I spend some time with the advanced metrics, I do get slightly concerned as the Wild are still creating the chances. I’ve almost talked myself out of it ha so we’ll go with just a small play and then I can kick myself tomorrow if the Wild win.

(And then I DID talk myself out of it)
