A massive momentum switch yesterday saw the New York Islanders go down 2-0 at home to the Carolina Hurricanes. They now have to head to the PNC arena where the Hurricanes are 3-0 this year in the playoffs.
They had the disallowed goal that seemed to affect both teams mentally – Islanders in the negative, Hurricanes in the positive. Canes came out in the third and rattled two goals and that was it. Islanders offense is struggling and they’ll be hoping that the change in venue will help.
The Sharks and Avs had a fun game with the Avs running out 4-3 winners to tie up the series.
For Monday, April 29th we’ve only got the one game as the Blues vs Stars series moves to Dallas.
The Blues won the first game off the back of a Tarasenko performance, but lost Game 2 as Binnington got lit up.
Stars vs Blues Game 3 Betting Tips:
Graeme: The home venue wasn’t anything great for the Stars in the first round. One big blowout victory, a tight OT win and then a loss. Blues on the road was of course big as they won all three of their games in Winnipeg.
The bookies are aware of that though with the Blues widely available line being around 1.95.
I just find that is too fine a line to tip or bet. I think if the Blues were 2.15 it’d be a marginal play but worth the bet but yeah the price just isn’t right for me.
Game 3s tend to see the goals and I think even if this one doesn’t go over, we can at least see a push. Over 5 goals incl OT
Scott: This has been a good series with the teams tied heading into game 3.
This series seems like its going to come down to the goalies. Binnington was strong in game 1 making 29 saves for win. Bishop had a good game 2 making 32 saves for the win.
Although the series is now in Dallas for games 3 and 4, I’m not sure who comes out the winner of this game. Either team has shown that they have the edge yet so I’ll avoid a tip for this game.
