And we are off. Day 1 of the NHL season is over. We had 4 games yesterday and its great to have the best sport in the world back.
Game one was the Sens vs the Leafs. The Sens scored first early when Tkachuk scored 25 seconds into the game. But in the end it was the Leafs winning 5-3. Matthews scored twice for Toronto and before the game started the Leafs announced that John Tavares was going to be the 25th captain in Maple Leafs history.
The last two Cup winners met when the Blues hosted the Caps. It was the Caps that came out winners in this one needing OT but it was 3-2. Ovechkin scored for the Caps.
The Oilers beat the Canucks 3-2. Draisaitl scored and had 2 assists and McDavid also got one. Quinn Hughes had an assist for Vancouver.
The final game of the night was the Sharks vs the Golden Knights. We had went with over 6 due to the rivalry between these teams. After I had posted the tip, Evander Kane was suspended 3 games for his actions in the preseason finale. His absence definitely hurt the Sharks and this game stayed under, and in control, when the Knights won 4-1. Smith scored twice and Stone scored one in the victory.
Day 2 of the season tonight and its a full night of action with 8 games. With it being so early in the season we again will have only 1 tip as games are tough to call at this point.
With so many games it would be a good night to discuss in the comments the nights action and work together to find other games to bet.
Panthers vs Lightning Betting Tips:
The Lightning are going to be looking to do damage after getting swept in the first round of the playoffs. The had a historic season only to have all of that work during the season go to shit at the hands of the Blue Jackets. The teams core remains from last season.
The Panthers made some moves in the offseason most notably bringing in Bobrovsky to be the starter.
But with the Lightning at home and eager to show the home crowd that they are still a powerhouse I like their chances.
