Well it ended up being a rather busy day in the world of hockey.
Tampa Bay had to temporarily close its facilities due to staff memebers and players testing positive for COVID-19. Auston Matthews also tested positive for COVID-19.
That’s why the NHL has issued everything within phases like this, as opposed to just rushing back.
In the short-term it makes sense of course. Chances are none of these players are going to die from it. However it IS concerning in regard to the long-term effects on the lungs which is of course unknown right now.
Hopefully everyone comes out of this okay. Matthews is a hell of a player with a bright future and I really hope there are no long term effects.
I’m going to have a quick look at the Bundesliga games taking place tomorrow. If you’re looking for the action taking place in England, you can read my EPL Bets over at BetSoccer.ca.
There’s a crapload of games so I’m just looking at a couple games.
Bundesliga Bets for June 20th, 2020:
Dusseldorf vs Augsburg: Dusseldorf are favourites in their battle against relegation. They have struggled to win post pandemic but have picked up the points in various draws. Was amazing seeing them pull off the draw against RB Leipzig. They are either going to get relegated automatically or get in the playoffs. Augsburg are safe and will play without pressure. I’m fine backing against Dusseldorf here. Augsburg or Draw
Cologne vs Frankfurt: Frankfurt have been on a tear lately while Cologne haven’t won in 8 games so pre pandemic. Frankfurt don’t have much to play for but they seem to be the team who will finish the season strong I expect. I’m good to back Frankfurt to win.
I think that’s all I’ll cover. The Bundesliga is getting close to the end now. I think tomorrow I’ll start looking at Serie A on here.
