In this article we will go over the Arizona Coyotes vs Nashville Predators series and who we think will win the series and in how many games.
Coyotes vs Predators Series Prediction
The Coyotes played in 70 games and went 33-29-8 for 74 points and finished in 5th place in the Pacific Division. The Predators played 69 games and went 35-26-8 for 78 points and finished in 5th place in the Central Division.
The Predators are the favorites here. For forwards they are lead by Filip Forsberg and Matt Duchene but have some decent depth to help them. Kyle Turris, Viktor Arvidsson, Ryan Johansen and Nick Bonino are all offensive players who can help the team in this round.
The Predators have always been known as a defensive team and this year was no different. Roman Josi, Mattias Ekholm and Ryan Ellis are a great top 3. They also have experience too with Dan Hamhuis and Korbinian Holzner so they are set on defense.
In goal the Predators, for the first time in years, have issues. Rinne has had problems staying healthy and this year he played in 36 games with a 3.17 GAA and a .895 save percentage.
The Coyotes now have players who are capable of scoring points. They have Phil Kessel, Taylor Hall, Clayton Keller, Christian Dvorak and Nick Schmaltz to do the heavy lifting. To help them out they have Carl Soderberg and Derek Stepen.
On defense they are led by Oliver Ekman-Larsson but also have Niklas Hjalmarsson, Alex Goligoski and Jakob Chychrun to form a decent top 4.
In goal they use a two headed approach with Darcy Kuemper and Antti Raanta. Both are good goalies and are comfortable with the rolls they are in. If one starts to struggle then the other is there to take the wheel
With the year that not only Rinne had but the Predators overall I am going to go with the Coyotes here. They have a deep group of forwards and if Rinne continues to struggle the Coyotes should be able to move on to the next round. I like this series to go long amd maybe even the distance but I’m going with the youth in this one.
