Well I took the night off from tips yesterday. And after seeing the results from last night I’m ok with that.
The Hawks kept their slim playoff hopes alive when they beat the Preds 5-4 in overtime. For the Hawks it was a win but the Preds also gained a single point in the loss and are still 3 points behind them.
The Wild beat the Coyotes 4-1 and the win moved them to 61 points which is 17 points more than the 5th place Blues and 16 more than the 4th place Coyotes.
The Knights beat the Sharks 5-2 and with the win became the first team to clinch a playoff spot this season. They have gone 7-0 against the Sharks this year with one more game to play at the end of the season. They became the fourth franchise in NHL history to make the playoffs in each of its first four seasons. Really is an incredible feat.
The final game of the night was the Canadiens vs the Oilers and the Canadiens won 4-3. It didn’t take long for a member of the Habs to fight Chiasson as Corey Perry got ahold of him early in the 1st to have him answer for injuring Price.
A full night with 10 games scheduled. We managed to come up with one tip. Another we were close on but got looking and decided to avoid.

Canes vs Panthers
The Canes have won 5 in a row against the Panthers. Over the last 10 games the Canes are 6-2-2 and the Panthers are 6-3-1.
This is a big game for both teams. The Panthers have won 3 in a row and sit in 2nd place in the Central Divison tied for 1st with the Hurricanes at 65 points. The Canes have two extra games in hand on the Panthers.
Bobrovsky is expected to start for the Panthers and has gone 0-1-1 with a 2.91 GAA against Carolina this year. This will help the Canes if he does start.
Knowing that they have 2 in hand over the Panthers, the Canes can’t afford to lose this game which would drop them to 2nd place in the Central.

Avalanche vs Blues
Wanted to take the Avalanche in this one and it would have to be in regulation. They haven’t played in a week and would be looking to reclaim their spot in the West Divison.
The Avalanche had gone 9-1 in their last 10 before the break and had won 4 straight. The Blues have lost 2 in a row and have gone 3-6-1 over their last 10. The Avalanche have beat the Blues in 4 straight games. All signs point towards a Avs win.
But Dubnyk hasn’t been that good for the Avs and we need him to find his game. And after having an extended break we aren’t sure how they will come out in this one. It’s the break and goalie situation that put us off of this one.
