In this article we will go over a couple of the prop bets that you can make.
Prop bets are fun and gives you a chance to pick who you think will win a trophy before the season starts.
We will talk about the top 3 and give our pick as to who we think will win at the end of the season.
Vezina Trophy Betting Tips:
The Vezina Trophy is awarded to the best goaltender. It is voted on by the 32 general managers of the league. It is given to the most outstanding goalie of the year not just the goalie or goalies who allowed the fewest goals against, that trophy is called the William M Jennings.
The top three favorites to win the award, and their odds to do so, are:
- Vasilevskiy, Lightning – 4.40
- Fleury, Blackhawks – 10.00
- Hellebuyck, Jets – 10.00
The top 3 favorites are also the last 3 winners of the Vezina.
Fleury is the defending Vezina Trophy winner but he won it as a member of the Golden Knights who are a much better team then the Blackhawks are. As a Hawks fan that was tough to write.
Hellebuyck is in the same boat as Fleury. He’s a phenomenal goalie but it’s the team in front of him that has me worried.
Vasilevskiy is the favorite and for good reason. He’s a great goalie on a great team. Only concern I have for him is he has played more hockey then the rest of the goalies in the league. Winning back to back Stanley Cups will do that. But they were shortened seasons so it shouldn’t affect him as much as it would have were it a regular length season.
Our pick, and the safest in our opinion, is Vasilevskiy to win the Vezina Trophy

Jack Adams Award Betting Tips:
The Jack Adams is for Coach of the Year. The winner is selected by a poll of the National Hockey League Broadcasters Association at the end of the regular season.
This can be a Coach who’s team just dominates or a coach who improved their team versus the previous year.
The top three favorites to win the award, and their odds to do so, are:
- Cooper, Lightning – +500
- Evason, Wild – +600
- Brind’Amour, Canes – +650
Cooper hasn’t yet won a Jack Adams Award but his team has won back to back Stanley Cups.
Evason was a finalist for the award last year, since he took over the head coaching job of the Wild they have gone 43-20-5 and have made the playoffs twice. Curious to see what he can to with a full 82 game season.
Brind’Amour is the reigning Jack Adams Award winner. But they will be going with a new tandem in goal with Mrazek and Reimer gone being replaced by Freddy Andersen and Antti Raanta so they may have their work cut out for them this year.
In my opinion as long as Cooper can keep his team competitive, which he will as this team is still stacked, then he should win the Award as he for sure has earned it.
