A 1-1 night last night for an exact push. Sharks got the win over the Stars, while Casey DeSmith surprisingly had a shutout to hold the Ducks out. Good for him.
I was very close to taking the Blues -1.5 yesterday but changed my mind at the last second. Hopefully some of you backed that one.
Similar with the Sens. Like I said I was betting on them but just couldn’t advise it. They got a big win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Like I said yesterday – a lot of road games for Tampa and they just looked weary.
Holy crap was the F1 something else today – what an ending. I’m a Max fan but by god they just handed him the championship today. The FIA are an absolute farce.
Let’s get into todays – with back to backs, not sure we’ll have much:
Blues vs Ducks:
Depleted Blues squad on a back to back. Ducks just got shutout by the Penguins.
Getzlaf back with the Ducks. I’ve said it before but often it takes time for the team to adjust when a player has been out for a few games.
I feel like there is value on the Ducks here but it just feels like too much of a roll the dice type situation. Hard to back a team coming off a loss the previous night when the other is coming off the win.
In saying that Stolarz is in net and he has been solid this season. Blues might go with Gillies.
Crap. I actually think the Ducks are a play here. Solid road performances recently. Will be motivated after being shut out. I think the value may just be there. When you look at the advanced metrics over the last 10 on 5 vs 5, Ducks are slightly better mostly across the board. Ducks also last game of this road trip – might help give them that extra effort needed.

Rangers vs Predators:
I’m still iffy about betting any games involving the Predators. I think this is a good spot for the Rangers to get the win. Rangers had a tight one against the Sabres and a loss against the Avs – have to wonder if we are going to see a little bit of a struggle from them. Rangers got lucky against Buffalo too as that should have been a goal.
No bet here as Rangers are throwing up warning signs. If I was betting, I’d go with Rangers in regulatio assuming Georgiev is in net. But you see these warning signs with teams – such as the Hurricanes – and it’s best to skip them.
Avalanche vs Panthers:
A big game between two top teams in the NHL. Bookies give it home advantage with the Avs hefty favourites.
Both teams had the night off. Avs come in with a lot of wins but they have that one issue of conceding goals. A LOT. Panthers are one of those teams that often win these types of games.
Landeskog possibly out too. The one big concern of course is the Panthers road performances which have been weak. Just 4-3-4 while 14-1-0 at home.
This is one of those games where if I lose the bet I feel it is an educational moment if that makes sense. I’ll know from here on out to avoid Panthers on road games.

Golden Knights vs Wild:
Knights coming in off that loss to the Flyers. Wild suffered the loss to the Kings. Knights are too heavily favoured for my liking but Wild on their 4th road game, on a back to back just isn’t my cup of tea either.
Canucks vs Hurricanes:
Amazing seeing how close the odds are here right now. These wouldn’t be the same a month ago.
Canucks with a night off. Hurricanes coming in off that Oilers win.
Odds seem quite right here – should be a tight one but you give Canes the slight edge due to team quality.
No bet.
What FIA did was disgusting and complete shame of the sport. Big career peak for Max, congrats for his first Championship (I am glad for his personal achivement) but that’s not the way to win it.
100% agreed on that.
