Three games last night but we didn’t have any tips.
The Oilers beat the Blues 3-1. After winning their first 3 games the Blues have now dropped 2 in a row. McDavid was held without a goal for the 3rd game in a row.
The Islanders shutout the Rangers 3-0. This was the Rangers 4th straight loss and the Isles snapped their losing streak at 3 games with the win.
The final game of the night was the Lightning vs the Ducks and the Lightning won 4-2. This was a close game that saw Hagel score a late powerplay goal to take the lead and they added an empty net for the win.
Another busy night with 10 games.
Canadiens vs Sabres
The Habs have lost their last 2 games against the Stars and Wild and were outscored in those games 8-3. The Sabres had their 3 game win streak snapped by the Kraken.
I’m not sure who wins this one.
Panthers vs Flyers
These teams are both coming into this game off of a loss. Both have similar records so far too.
The Panthers are 4-2-1 and are on the road where they have gone 2-2. The Flyers are 4-2 and are at home where they have gone 2-1.
The played each other last Wednesday and the Panthers won 4-3. The loss was the Flyers first of the season after winning their first 3.
With the last game being decided by a goal I don’t have enough confidence in taking the Panthers as it would need to be in regulation
Wild vs Senators
The Wild finally played defense and won 3-1 against the Canadiens. The Sens are on a 4 game win streak.
With the Wild playing a better game defensively will that translate to them going on a win streak? Can the Sens keep up their strong play of late and push their win streak to 5 games. They are at home where they have gone 4-0.
There are just to many questions about this game so I have to skip it.
Red Wings vs Bruins
The Red Wings have had a decent start to the season. They lost their last game but are still a respectable 3-1-2. The Bruins are on a 3 game winning streak, are 6-1 on the year and are at home where they have gone 5-0.
With the way the Bruins are playing it’s hard to bet against them. And they are at home and have been successful.

Oilers vs Blackhawks
The Oilers won last night against the Blues. They are now 4-3 in the early part of the season.
The Blackhawks have been a tougher team to play against then many, including myself, expected. They are 4-2 and are at home for this game where they have gone 3-0.
I would lean towards an Oilers win but the Hawks have shown that they can win games against teams that are better than them.
Blues vs Predators
The Blues played last night and lost to the Oilers. The Blues need to snap this funk they are in or risk dropping to .500.
The Predators have lost 5 straight and their only 2 wins came in Prague. It seems like playing in North America just doesn’t work for them.
I’m skipping the Preds yet again
Capitals vs Stars
The Caps have won their last two games when they beat the Kings and the Devils. The Stars have dropped their last 2 losing to the Senators and the Bruins. They are at home here where they have gone 2-0 so far.
The records for both of these teams is similar. The Caps are 4-3 and the Stars 4-2-1. I feel safer just skipping this game.
Canucks vs Kraken
The Canucks are a mess right now. They have lost 7 in a row and are ranked 29th in the league in GPG with 2.57 and ranked 28th in GAPG with 4.29.
The Kraken are 3-3-2 and won their last game against the Sabres ending their win streak at 3 games.
With the Canucks having such struggles it’s hard not to bet against them until they can get their stuff together.
Kraken win incl OT/SO

Jets vs Kings
These teams have had similar seasons so far. The Jets are 3-3 and on the road for this one where they have gone 1-2. The Kings are 4-4 and are at home where they have also gone 1-2.
It’s tough to predict this game. Both are coming off of wins and both have beaten some solid teams so far.
No advantage in the home and away records either. The Jets score less and allow less where the Kings score more and allow more.
I’m skipping this game.
Leafs vs Sharks
The Sharks are at home for this game where they have been bad going 0-4. Overall this season they are ranked 32nd in GPG scoring only 1.88.
The Leafs have been up and down so far. They are 4-3 and have the next three games in California to wrap up the first month. This is the easiest game of this California trip so do they take advantage of it or take it easy?
The Sharks have allowed the most shots in the league this season and the Leafs should use this game to get their offense going.

Hello guys, been looking at Flyers vs Panthers and Kings vs Jets.
Kevin Hayes to score for the Flyers
P. Luc Dubois to score for the Jets
Have both players in a combo with 2.5 units
K. Hayes had 2 assist but dident score himself, Dubois scored 1.
Swayman is confirmed to start for Boston tonight. Det still hasn’t announced their goalie. Dunno if that changes yours or anyone else’s opinion on the game tonight. Not trying to take anyone off a play just wanted to provide the update.
You guys are wrong on the Canucks/Kraken. I don’t think it’s wise to bet against the Nucks against Seattle. In fact you should probably pass on that matchup. Vancouver might be 0-7, but most of those losses were close after being ahead going into the third period. They have a ton of offense and I can see them beating a team like the Kraken.
“You guys are wrong” is an interesting statement as I don’t believe in terms of outcomes within hockey, there is any absolute like that.
Personally, I’m not the biggest fan of the play and I did lean towards skipping it, but there is certainly merit to it. Krakens main issue at the moment is goaltending. Other than that, they were generally underperforming prior to the Sabres game. We saw that change when they hosted Buffalo who were drastically overperforming, as the ship was righted on that night. Their defensive metrics are very good.
I’m not sure about a “ton of offense” for the Canucks. Bottom 10 overall this season in CF/60 and FF/60. 6th worst for GF/60, and 5th worst for xGF/60. What’s very concerning for the Canucks is that their GF & xGF are about the same, meaning at least so far this is what to expect from their offense.
All good, I’m going to pass on this one. I get the feeling the Nucks are due. When I say tons of offence, I mean offensive power with the likes of Pettersson, Miller, etc… Both teams can’t keep the puck out of their net, and I do believe the Canucks deserved a better fate in some of those losses. This screams pass. Let’s see how it plays out. 🙂
Full Game OVER 6.5: Wild/Senators
To WIN moneyline: Sabres and Bruins
Lean only > full Game UNDER 7.0: Flyers/Panthers
I’m off the Canucks/Kraken game. When a team sinks into horrible play and the whole organization looks bad, before they blow up the roster, there’s always a chance some kind of adjustment or particular situation has effect, and against a cross-border new rival, on the road, the very desperate Canucks may have a gasp of fresh air needed to win. Game by game, and a wounded animal is dangerous.
I’m expecting Boston to take the Win, Marchand is likely back, but I’m not expecting results out of him immediately. Bruins are just playing so well, and at home.
Oilers: two games back, McDavid crashed backwards into a goalpost. He’s still playing, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes it easy in some ways around the boards, for a week or so, if back tightness or muscle bruising happened. Who knows.
Van/Sea over 6.5 at -110.
Shaky goaltending by both teams here. Demko has been bad by all metrics. Martin Jones metrics have been just as poor and we get him tonight with Grubauer on IR. Grubauer has also been just as awful so it may not even matter. Jones game logs have him conceding 5 goals twice and 4 in another start. He does have two one goal games however one was opening night and his most recent vs buffalo was a game where the sabres were held to 16 shots. Desperate Vancouver at home should muster more of an attack than that. Seattle powerplay is above average and both teams penalty kills are way below average. Then we get to the injuries to vancouver d line with both Hughes and Poolman being placed on IR for them. Hughes being the more important but cluster injuries and both have positive DPS currently. Now we just need someone to tell me I’m wrong and take the under and we should have all sides of this game covered.
