Only two games yesterday and we had no tips. Congrats to my Argos for winning the 109th Grey Cup when they beat the best team in the regular season, the Bombers, 24-23.
The Jackets beat the Panthers 5-3. The Panthers outshot the Jackets 50-23 so it was a big game from Jackets goalie Tarasov who had 47 saves in the win.
The other game of the night was the Penguins vs the Blackhawks and the Pens won 5-3. Malkin scored in his 1000th career game.
A busy night with 10 games.
Bruins vs Lightning
The Bruins have been incredible so far this season. They have won 6 in a row, are ranked #1 in GPG and #1 in GAPG and are in 1st place in the league. The Lightning have also been playing well winning their last 4 games. They are ranked 11th in goals for and 14th in goals allowed.
I like the Bruins to win this game but it’s on the road against the Lightning so it’s tough to call. I feel better skipping this game and watch what’s sure to be one of the better games of the night.
Flames vs Flyers
The Flames have been struggling. They have gone 3-5-2 over their last 10 and are on the road for this one where they have gone 2-3-1 this season. The Flyers are also struggling losing their last 6 games scoring only 13 times over those 6.
The Flyers can’t score and are ranked 32nd in the league in GPG with only 2.47. They are ranked 29th in shots per game, their powerplay is ranked 27th and they are 26th in shots allowed. All of these things are strong indications of why they are having a rough go.
I’m skipping this game but would lean towards a Flames win. I just can’t fully back it thanks to their play over the last 10 games.
Oilers vs Devils
The Oilers are in 4th in the Pacific, 6th in GPG and have the 2nd best powerplay percentage in the league.
The Devils are playing incredible hockey. They have won 12 in a row, are ranked 3rd in GPG, 4th in GAPG and they allow the fewest shots per game.
As much as I want to back the Devils here I can’t. I would need to take them in regulation which probably won’t be a problem for them. But this is the Oilers who may show up for the challenge.
Hurricanes vs Jets
The Canes have lost their last 2 games and the Jets also lost their last.
These teams records are similar with the Canes 10-5-3 and in 2nd in the Metro and the Jets are 10-5-1 and in 3rd in the Central.
Both teams are ranked in the top 10 in goals allowed per game. The Canes road record is 6-3-2 and the Jets home record is 6-2.
It’s surprising to see the Jets statistically on pace with the Canes. It’s for that reason that I have to skip this game.
Islanders vs Leafs
The Isles have dropped their last 2 games but have gone 6-4 over their last 10. The Leafs won their last game and have gone 6-1-3 over their last 10.
The Leafs looked good in their last game when they beat the Sabres 5-2 and Nylander scored twice. The Leafs are at home where they have gone 7-2-2 this season. With the Isles struggling I have no problem taking the Leafs in this one.

Coyotes vs Predators
There really isn’t anything I like from this game.
The Coyotes have lost 3 in a row and have gone 4-5-1 over last 10. The Preds lost their last game and have gone 5-4-1.
I have no confidence in the Coyotes and if taking the Preds I’d have to take them -1.5 and I can’t do that.
Ducks vs Blues
The Ducks have been bad. They are in last place in the league, ranked 29th in goals for and 31st in goals against.
The Blues have won 6 straight but haven’t been scoring a pile of goals ranking 28th.
These teams played each other on Saturday and the Blues won that one 6-2.
With the way the Blues have been playing I can’t bet against them and they are at home here so I could see them pushing their win streak to 7 in this one.

Avalanche vs Stars
This is going to be a good game between the top 2 teams in the Central.
Both teams are on 2 game win streaks. Both are ranked in the top 10 in GPG and also in the top 10 in GAPG.
I would normally take the Avs and not think twice about it. But the Stars are playing well right now and are at home where they have a 5-2 record this season.
I have talked myself into picking a team and then switching to the other a few times. Going to just watch this one.
Senators vs Sharks
Ya this game is a tricky one to call.
Both teams are low in the standings and have similar records.
The Sens are 6-10-1 and on the road where they have gone 1-4-1. The Sharks are 6-11-3 and at home where they have gone 1-7-3.
When both teams are doing so poorly it’s really hard to try and predict a winner.
Knights vs Canucks
The Knights lost their last game but have gone 7-2-1 over their last 10. The Canucks have won their last 2.
I had mentioned before that the Canucks know that their play this season has put their head coach in a bad place as he is likely to fall on the sword before anyone else.
I want to take the Knights here but with the Canucks playing with purpose and also at home I can’t do it.
Islanders ML

Islanders have better goalie in the net.
And Toronto won last 4 h2h, good time for a flip.
Good value to bet on Islanders for me!
