It was a busy Tuesday as usual last night with 12 games. Had 2 tips and went 1-1.
I had the Canes to win in regulation against the Jets and they did. Kotkaniemi scored 2 including the overtime winner. The win moved them back into 1st in the Metro.
I also had the Stars to beat the Canucks including overtime/shootout but the Canucks won 5-2.
The Lightning beat the Devils 4-1 and the win moved the Lightning within 2 points of the Leafs. The Knights beat the Flyers 5-3 to remain in 1st place in the Pacific and the Western Conference.
The Rangers beat the Capitals 5-3 and the Habs beat the Pens 6-4. The win gave the Rangers a little bit of breathing room now as they have a 6 point lead over them
Only 4 games for us tonight.
Sabres vs Capitals
I did find myself rooting for the Sabres this season. They were able to stay competitive and have been one of the higher scoring teams in the league. They are currently 5 points out but have 3 games in hand over the 8th place Isles.
The Caps are in a similar spot as the Sabres. They are also 5 points back but have only 1 game in hand.
Both teams are 4-5-1 over last 10.
I wanted to take the over here but it’s tough to expect the Sabres to put up 4+ a night. Both teams have crap defensive metrics. But the Sabres, without that Stars game, still have a 3.733 xGA/60.

Avalanche vs Maple Leafs
The Avalanche need to continue to play the way they have to stay in the top three in the Central. They have won 2 in a row and 6-3-1.
The Leafs aren’t catching the Bruins so they are playing to stay in 2nd place in the Atlantic to give them home ice in the first round. They currently have a 2 point lead over the Lightning with 2 games in hand.
The Avs are outperforming their expected goals per game and that has me worried. Both teams are great offensively but what they score and what the numbers say they should score has me worried.
Wild vs Blues
The Wild are playing well going 7-0-3 and are on a 13 game point streak.
The Blues have gone 3-5-2 and are way out of the playoff picture.
The Wild are within reach of top spot in the Central and need to continue to play the way they have to do that.
I would like to take the Wild but they are without Kaprizov which makes backing them tricky. And the Blues have nothing to lose at this point with them being 16 points out.
Islanders vs Ducks
The Isles played last night and lost 5-2 to the Kings . They don’t have a great road record.
But they are playing the Ducks who have been bad all year and at home have gone 11-16-3.
The main problem here for me is I would have to take the Islanders to win in regulation. And with them playing last night and their road record this season I just can’t do it.
