Had one tip yesterday.
Had the Sabres to beat the Canadiens in regulation but the game went to overtime so it was a loss. The Habs won 4-3 in a shootout.
The Sens kept their slim playoff hopes alive while hunting the Panthers chances when they won 5-2.
The Oilers beat the Coyotes 5-4, the Isles beat the Devils 5-1 and the Wild beat the Kraken 5-1.
With the Panthers losing the Leafs clinched a playoff spot for the 7th straight year and the Rangers clinched a spot with the Sabres loss.
It’s a Tuesday so there are a bunch of games on for us. As I said yesterday it’s getting tough to find tips.
Jackets vs Rangers
The odds are obviously bad here.
The Jackets are 3-5 over their last 8 games and the 3 wins were all in overtime.
The Rangers have won their last 2 games and are 8-1-1 over last 10.
Would have to take the Rangers -2.5. The Jackets have been getting beat bad lately but they do have 2 games in their last 3 where they won in OT. Just can’t back the Rangers to win by 3.
Lightning vs Hurricanes
Should be a good game between two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.
The Lightning have gone 4-5-1 in last 10, lost the last 4 and 17-19-1 on the road. They are in 3rd in the Atlantic and are 7 points behind the 2nd place Leafs.
The Canes have gone 5-4-1 over last 10 and 25-9-3 at home. They have clinched a spot in the postseason but have only a 3 point lead over the 2nd place Devils in the Metro.
Either team has been that good over their last 10. They have played twice this season with the Canes winning both including a 6-0 win earlier this month.
I’m passing on this game and instead just watch what’s sure to be a good one.
Canadiens vs Flyers
Habs played last night and won in a shootout and the Flyers are on a 3 game win streak.
I really don’t see anything I like for this game between two teams who won’t be playing playoff hockey.
With the Flyers going about .500 at home this season, 16-16-5, and the Canadiens road record 13-21-3 I would lean towards a Flyers win. But Montreal has won both games against them this season.
Predators vs Bruins
I hate tipping games with the Preds involved. They have lost their last 2 games
The Bruins, if you haven’t heard, are a pretty good team. They are all but guaranteed the Presidents Trophy with the 16 point lead they have on the 2nd place Canes. They have won 7 in a row.
I would need to take the Bruins -1.5 amd their last 2 games wouldn’t have covered amd 3 of last 4 too. I like them to win but can’t do the spread with them so far ahead in the standings they may take it easy going forward so I’m passing.
Penguins vs Red Wings
The Penguins are in the wild card but need to gain points to distance themselves from the Panthers.
The Wings are 11 points back, on a 2 game losing skid and are 3-7 over last 10 games. They have only won 3 times in their last 15 games.
With the Pens needing points to get themselves closer to the postseason they should show up here.

Canucks vs Blues
The Canucks continue to play well under Tocchet. They are 12-4-1 in the last 17 games and have allowed three or fewer goals in 14 of them.
The Blues are 6-3-1 over last 10.
These teams are close in the standings with both playing 73 games and the Canucks have 73 points and the Blues 72.
The odds are a coin flip so it’s an easy pass for me.
Stars vs Blackhawks
Would need to take the Stars to win by 2 here.
The problem for me is that the Stars have had 2 of their last 4 games go to overtime and have lost 4 of their last 6.
I have to skip this game due to the odds. I would have taken Stars in regulation if the odds were there.
Kings vs Flames
Kings have earned points in their last 12 games.
The Flames are 4 points out of the playoffs. Their home record hasn’t been the greatest either going 17-15-4.
They played about a week ago and the Kings pounded the Flames 8-2.
I want to take the Kings to win here but with the Flames up against the wall they may show up looking good and for some revenge after the beating they took last week. Also the Kings almost lost the last game they played after having a 5-1 lead against the Blues.
Oilers vs Knights
The Knights are in 1st in the Pacific but the Kings are right behind them and on fire collecting points in 12 straight games. If they want to stay there then they need to continue to win.
The Oilers won last night. They are in 3rd in the Pacific and only 5 points behind the Knights.
These teams just played on Saturday and the Knights won 4-3 in overtime.
This could go either way and I feel safer just skipping it.
Jets vs Sharks
Jets are in the final wild card spot. They have 85 points and are 4 points ahead of the Flames.
The Sharks have lost 9 in a row and are tied with the Jackets for last place in the league.
With the Sharks playing so bad and the Jets needing points get away from the Flames I like the Jets here. And looking at the Sharks home record of 6-20-10 I think the Jets are the play.

To WIN moneyline: Rangers
Strong lean: Dallas and Winnipeg to win moneyline
I see many problems in the matchups today. Can’t take the Bruins or Hurricanes to win because they’ve both played 3 back-to-backs in their last 10 and preventing fatigue and injuries at this time of year is very important for being playoff-ready. Both will already be a little fatigued.
If Winnipeg beats San Jose and the Flames lost to LA, the Flames are basically out of the playoffs at 6 points back again. LA is reasonably secure in a playoff position, so may not be showing up 100% energized, and a Flames win is more a possibility because of that. Flames have had two days off.
Winnipeg doesn’t impress me recently, I can’t see them being an easy pick anywhere, but yes, the Sharks really are that bad this year.
Pittsburgh and their sinking ship have only won 4 in their last 10 and recently lost bad to Montreal and Ottawa, so they’re still impossible to bet on, even in games that look high importance or like gravy. Detroit has beaten Pittsburgh this season and also recently beat Boston, so playing the spoiler against better teams looks like their thrill.
Habs show casing Primeau tonight ? He’s been good for Laval lately , but I don’t think he’s NHL yet
I felt the same when I saw him confirmed. Montreal had been playing competitively beating Tampa, Columbus and Buffalo last night and it almost feels like management said hey guys you’re supposed to be losing these games. Philly countering with Sandstrom though, and I’m not eager to back him.
Thanks for the work you guys do. I’m too much of a coward to ever post my own bets. Mine all lose anyway lol.
