3 games yesterday.

The Isles were up 3-1 after the 1st in their game against the Ranges in the Stadium Series series but the Rangers ended up winning 6-5 in OT.

The Kings beat the Penguins 2-1 scoring both of their goals late in the 3rd and both by Kempe.  MacKinnon scored and had an assist to gain a point and he now had a point in all 26 home games this season when the Avs beat the Coyotes 4-3.

10 games today.  With it being Family Day the games start early so will have to keep these short to get them out in time.

Ducks vs Sabres Betting Tips:

Nothing here.  Either team have shown me a reason enough to back them at the moment.

Leafs vs Blues Betting Tips:

The Leafs are playing well going 7-3-0 last 10 and have won their last 3 and Matthews has had back to back hat tricks.

The Blues are also 7-3 in last 10.

On the road the Leafs are 14-6-6, at home the Blues are 16-10-1.  These teams played each other on Tuesday and the Leafs won that one 4-1.

With the recent win against the Blues and the momentum they should have with Matthews scoring so much I like the Leafs chances here.  I wish it was including overtime but it has to be regulation.

Leafs win in regulation

Stars vs Bruins Betting Tips:

With the Bruins on a 4 game losing skid its hard to back them at the moment.  But it’s also hard to bet against them after the season they have had.

The Stars are 7-1-2 in last 10.  Some of the wins they have over the last 10 haven’t been against very strong teams with wins over the Canadiens, Predators, Sabres, Capitals and Ducks.  So although the record in the last 10 is good it also isn’t as impressive.

Canucks vs Wild Betting Tips:

The Canucks lost their last game but are still a respectable 6-2-2 in last 10.

The Wild also lost their last game and are also playing well in last 10 going 7-2-1.

The Canucks are better in most stats with shots per game the exception.  Their road record of 18-8-4 is much better than the Wilds home record of 13-11-4.

Canucks win incl OT/SO

Wings vs Kraken Betting Tips:

These teams are in 5th in their divisions.

The Wings score more goals and the Kraken allow less.

Looking at their records for where they are playing the Wings are 13-12-1 on the road and the Kraken are 11-9-4 at home.

Could be a close game and I’m happy to avoid it.

Oilers vs Coyotes Betting Tips:

Oilers are 7-3 in last 10 and 5th in goals, 3rd in shots, 11th in goals allowed and 4th in shots allowed.

The Coyotes played yesterday.  They’re 26th in goals, 30th in shots, 19th in goals allowed and 25th in shots allowed

They both have a 15-12-0 record based on where they are playing.

Would have to take the Oilers -1.5 on the road so I’m out.

Jets vs Flames Betting Tips:

Nope.

Knights vs Sharks Betting Tips:

Knights the favorites here as was expected.  They are 6-3-1 in last 10 but have lost their last .

The Sharks are 5-3-2 in last 10.

I want to take the Knights here but with them on a 2 game skid I’m going to pass. Also if going that way we would have to take them -1.5 and on the road no thanks.

Senators vs Lightning Betting Tips:

Similar records over last 10 and also they rank close in both GPG and GAPG.  The Sens shoot more but the Lightning allow less.

It’s the home and road records for each team that could be the difference here with the Sens 7-14-0 on the road and the Lightning 18-6-3 at home.

Seems like a game the Lightning should win but the Sens have had 3 of their last 10 need extra time so I’m skipping.

Blackhawks vs Hurricanes Betting Tips:

Hawks coming in off of the win against the Sens but are still 2-7-1 last 10.  They have played better with Bedard back but still not touching them.

Canes are 7-3 in last 10 and have won last 2 games.

Hawks have been brutal on the road going 4-23-1 and have lost the last 20 road games straight.

If taking the Canes, and really that’s the only option,  we would have to take them -2.5 so I’m passing.

Yes, yes, yes. Canucks vs Wild good pick.
I want to bet this today, too.

It’s a 33.3, 66.6 situation. 66.6% probability Canucks for me.

And I feel becoming crazy, because I would like to flip the odds and then to bet with even more confidence. Don’t get crazy, dude, don’t no, just bet.

Goalie will be probably better on Vancouvers side too.

I have decided to post another bet. And to be honest, without the odds I wouldn’t necessarily believe it either, but the stats aren’t as bad as the odds seem to indicate. I’m fully on board here and curious to see what will happen.

Anyone have any info on why the Canucks are coming right back with Casey DeSmith especially after giving one away on Saturday night in which they blew a big lead with him in the net? I hope Demko isn’t dinged up!

Edmonton McDavid to score +100

There are some concerns with this play so maybe waiting until vs Boston could be better.

This one is really just situational. He gets to face an Arizona team who while they will be home for this game, just had to play at Colorado yesterday. Another afternoon game here for them and McDavids speed should present opportunities.

McDavid hasn’t scored in 5 games. His longest span of games without a goal was 8. This was back when Oilers were struggling, and he was playing through an injury. Since then his longest streak without a goal has been 4 games.

He’s also likely to face Matt Villalta, with Ingram out injured. I’m actually a little surprised that Arizona didn’t choose to give Villalta game one on the road and Vejmelka this game here. At least he would have had a fresh team in front of him.

There are some concerns I have with the play however. McDavid has just 8 goals on the road as opposed to 13 at home.

Over his last 5 games he’s shooting less. With the line changes he might be just adapting to the personalities of his linemates. He’s been much more of a facilitator the last 5 games taking just 12 shots and recording 13 assists. New addition Perry has scored in two straight both assisted by McDavid. And having Draisaitl takes some of the pressure off him as well perhaps.

An afternoon road game might have McDavid look to conserve energy and continue to get teammates involved. As he looks ahead to a tougher matchup vs Boston in front of his home crowd.

Because of the situation and the even money odds, I’m willing to take two cracks at him scoring. He currently sits at 5 percent shooting for the month of February, and has been 13 percent or better every month so far. And he may only need just one or two opportunities to cash in here today.

Tampa Bay -155

I priced this game Tampa -180. It opened -175 and has been bet down since. I’m hoping that’s a bit of an over reaction to the drubbing they got from Florida. And not something else that I’m missing.

I might be on the wrong end of this one, but the one loss isn’t enough for me to stay away from Vasilevskiy and Tampa Bays recent performances at home. They’ll be off until Thursday, so they should be eager for a chance to answer for that poor performance vs Florida. There wasn’t anything super crazy in the advanced metrics vs Florida for me to flag either.

Also Look for goaltender matchups as Dallas, Ottawa, Minnesota, Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Vegas all play again on Tuesday.

NiceDudeD

What are goaltender matchups and where do you bet this? I’m just curious.
Today I saw someone betting on shot on goals. My bookie doesn’t cover this.

DeNaposD

Sorry I should have clarified this better by saying check goalie confirmations for all those teams I listed in particular because they play again tomorrow.

So they may elect to play their backups today, and a lot of bettors here are goalie dependent.

Which I think was also what Trottin Tom was asking if Demko was hurt because DeSmith started. I don’t think Demko is hurt I think they are just playing him tomorrow vs Avs.

So that’s what I meant by that.

For what you asked though, In New Jersey shot props are offered at pretty much every book here. Though I would recommend when you do find them check multiple places, because they are priced very differently.

As far as goalie props they aren’t as widely available. But there is one book that has Over Unders on listed goalies Saves and Goals Against. And a Yes or No on Shutout.

If you reside somewhere else out of America, it’s probably harder to find. The best way I can compare this is soccer options are way more in other Countries then they are in America.

My state is catching up somewhat, but there’s still a well known book I use that still won’t offer Asian Handicap lines. They don’t want the action, and it’s not popular with most Americans because they can’t understand it. Whereas in Europe, this is very popular and every book offers it.

Trottin Tom

My bad on that one… I had been told that DeSmith was in the net on Saturday night by a buddy. I now see it was Demko. Sorry about that one.

NiceDudeD

Hey dude,

DeSmith was in net, look here:

But what a crazy game. I didn’t see it but what the fuck just happened, lol.
