The final game of this round of the NHL playoffs takes place tonight, as the Vancouver Canucks host the Edmonton Oilers.
This series is tied at 3-3, after a massive win by the Oilers in Game 6.
This game takes place in Vancouver. The Canucks have won all three games at home in this series thus far, taking advantage of their fantastic home fans. In saying that, they dropped two at home against the Preds, including that critical Game 5.
Makes for an interesting one. Oilers are fairly heavy favourites at 1.62 on the road approximately.
Here’s our thoughts:
Canucks vs Oilers Game 7 Betting Tips:
Scott: The Oilers needed the big guns to show up and they did in game 6. Bouchard scored a goals and had 2 assists as did Nugent-Hopkins. McDavid had 3 assists, Draisaitl had 2 and Kane and Hyman also scored. They went back to Skinner who wasn’t really tested but did make 14 saves.
This has been a great series and these teams have traded wins up to this point. If this continues then the Canucks should win this game. But, with game 6 an exception, all the games have been decided by a single goal. The Oilers seemed to have figured out Silovs so not sure if that will be a factor or will the Canucks go to DeSmith with Demko ruled out for this game. Silovs has gotten them to this point so I can’t see them go to DeSmith who hasn’t played since April 26th.
No Bet. I do like the Oilers to win here but so do the sportsbooks.
Graeme: I’m regretting taking the Canucks to win the series. Massive odds at 3.25 but if I had Canucks +1.5 for the series I’d be able to relax tonight.
That last game I think will change things up. The Oilers ripped them apart after what was a tight series and I think they can roll with that.
Looking at the metrics overall for this series – the Oilers are quite simply the better team. Better Corsi, Fenwick, Shots, Goals, xGF, SCGF, HDCF. Canucks are only leading on HDGF but have had a bit more PDO.
I don’t know if the Canucks can bounce back after that trouncing as well. I’m not a fan of the Oilers odds so will go with a No Bet on that one, but I’ll be surprised if Vancouver can pull this off. I think Oilers take this in regulation.
