It’s almost time for a new NHL season, and we’re going to ease ourselves in as is standard via divisional picks.
This is where we go through each division and thoroughly analyze the teams and their chances.
The NHL season does officially begin tomorrow with the Global Series. We won’t be covering that but feel free to use this post for any bets or thoughts you have.
We’ll officially be back Tuesday, October 8th.
Pacific Division Betting Odds
All the teams in the Division are listed below and also listed are the odds for them to win the division. The odds will change but this is a list of what we find on average.
- Edmonton Oilers – 2.00
- Vancouver Canucks – 4.00
- Los Angeles Kings – 6.50
- Seattle Kraken – 18.00
- Calgary Flames – 23.00
- Anaheim Ducks – 126.00
- San Jose Sharks – 201.00

Pacific Division Winners Betting Tips
The Oilers are my pick to win the Pacific Divison.
The team is still stacked offensively and when you team has McDavid, Draisaitl, Nugent-Hopkins, Hyman and now have Jeff Skinner and Arvidsson they are that much deeper.
For depth they have Perry, Henrique and an injured Kane they are are scary team.
Bouchard and Nurse are capable of doijg the heavy lifting defensively. They are joined by the underrated Ekholm, Kulak Emberson and Stecher to form a strong top 6.
In goal is where the questions become obvious. Skinner is the starter and she he go down or get into a rough patch it’s Pickard .
It’s hard to bet against them. They are a machine offensively and good defensively it just comes down to goaltending but I think they have enough to win the Pacific.
Pacific Division Betting Analysis
Vancouver Canucks
Up front they are led by Pettersson, Miller, Boeser and Joshua. They brought in help for the them grabbing DeBrusk, Heineken and Sprong. That gives them 2 solid lines with Hoglander, Garland, Suter and Blueger for depth
The team is lead by defenseman and superstar Quinn Hughes. Hronek is another who will put up points. After those two they have Myers, Soucy, Forbort, Desharnais. Solid group but depth will be an issue.
In goal is where things together tricky. Demko is out and no time line as to when he will be back. They will be going with Lankinen and Silovs until he returns and either gives much hope.
Vegas Golden Knights
The Knights are a team that’s tricky to get a read on. They seem to always put a strong player on LTIR use the free cap space to add a star and come playoff time they are stacked
This year they are led by Eichel who is joined ,for now, by Stone, Karlsson, Barbashev, Hertl and Dorofeyev.
On defense it’s Pietrangelo, Theodore, Hanifin, McNabb and Whitecloud. I’m curious to see how well they do with no Marchessault, Stephenson, Mantha, Martinez and Carrier.
With Thompson gone its Hills goal and he has Samsonov as his backup. Going to be a strange looking team to begin the season.
Los Angeles Kings
The Kings are a team that keeps getting older yet fails to add important pieces to stay relevant.
Kopitar, Byfield, Fiala, Kempe are they guys counted on to do the heavy lifting offensively. They added Foegele and Jeannot who aren’t known for the goal scoring.
On Defense Doughty is listed as month-to-mounth and their next best dman are Anderson and Gavrikov.
Kuemper is the starter and Rittich and Copley will back him up.
Personally no faith in this team.
Seattle Kraken
The Kraken, seemed like a team that was making the necessary moves to be a better team.
They added Stephenson, Mountour and Mahura and are hoping for continued improvement from Beniers, Kartye and a full season of Shane Wright.
They have a decent team with McCann, Schwartz, Tanev, Dunn, Larsson and Oleksiak. So maybe these added pieces will take them to the next level.
Calgary Flames
The Flames are such a confusing team.
They have some talented players but it seems as though they just keep waiting for Huberdeau to have that bounce back year.
They added Mantha and Lomberg but that’s not going to cut it.
Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks young core need time to mature.
Looking at the team they have assembled this could be the year for them to do it.
Look for Carlsson, Zegras, Terry, McTavish and Vatrano to get better.
San Jose Sharks
The Sharks are going to have a rough year.
They do have Celebrini to show for their struggles but that’s about it.
They have another rookie Will Smith who’s sure to make the team.
The team they have is going to be bad.
