Only 4 games yesterday.
Had the Isles incl OT against the Devils and they did win 4-3 in overtime on a nice give and go. Was nice odds for that play.
The Oilers went off yesterday. They took 50 shots and beat the Pens 4-0. Every member of the Oilers took at least 1 shot.
The Knights scored the last 3 goals of the game and came back to beat the Sens 6-4 and the Preds beat the Hawks 3-2.
14 games today.
Wild vs Flyers
Two teams headed in opposite directions.
The Wild are 5-0-2 and killing it on the road going 4-0-1. And the wins they have on this 4 game win streak were against some decent competition with wins against the Lightning, Panthers, Blues and Jackets.
The Flyers are 1-5-1 and have lost their last 6 in a row. Looking at their stats and you can see why they are in the slump ranking 29th in GPG and 32nd in GAPG.
I want to take the Wild here but the Flyers have better numbers in corsi and fenwick but the Flyers have better numbers in GF and GA.
Just looking at the recent results I have to go with the Wild here. If Flyers show up than so be it.

Wings vs Sabres
Wings on a 3 game win streak after beating the Predators, Islanders and Devils. The Sabres on a 2 game streak after beating the Hawks and Stars.
Both teams are playing well. If I was to pick a winner I would lean towards the Sabres but it would have to be in regulation.
Utah vs Kings
Utah has dropped their last 2 games but will want to win when they can as the schedule gets tougher in a couple games. They play the Sharks next and then its the Flames, Knights, Jets the list is difficult.
The Kings are having a tough time. Sure they are 4-2-2 but their 3 most recent wins were against Sharks, Ducks and Canadiens so it’s tough to read to far into those wins.
Looking at the stats these teams match up fairly well and I’m happy skipping.
Leafs vs Bruins
These are usually great games between two original 6 teams and long time rivals.
The Leafs have lost 2 in a row and are 4-4 so far this season. The Bruins have dropped their last 3 and are 3-4-1 so far.
These teams are actually close not only standings wise. For GPG they both average 2.88, the Leafs powerplay is 27th and the Bruins 25th. On the road the Leafs are 1-2 and at home the Bruins are 2-2.
So as we can see it should be a good close game. I was looking at taking the over but it’s been a while since one of these games went above 6 so I unfortunately have to pass.
Ducks vs Rangers
The Ducks are 3-2-1. They have a decent team but their youngsters seem to be stuck in their progression.
The Rangers have been a great team so far. They are 5-1-1 and on the road where they have gone 4-0-0.
On paper this should go the Rangers way. They are ranked 1st in GPG and 4th in GAPG.
But needs to be -1.5 and 2 of the Ducks last 4 games needed overtime so I’m nervous.
Capitals vs Lightning
The Caps are playing amazing right now. They have won 5 straight. It’s amazing to see them have this success after their limped through the season last year.
The Lightning are 4-3 and 1-3 in last 4. Even without Stamkos, Kucherov continues to be the beast that they expect him to be with 13 points in 7 games.
For GPG the Caps are ranked 4th with 4.33 and the Lightning are 5th with 4.00. Let’s hope that continues.

Jets vs Flames
This could and should be the game of the night.
The Jets have been the class of the league so far going 7-0. They are 2nd in GPG, 1st in GAPG, 1st in power play and 8th in shots per game.
The Flames are 5-1-1 and have looked good. They are ranked 9th in both GPG and GAPG. Only concern i have for them is they have already needed extra time 3 times in the 7 games they have played this season. But Wolf has been amazing going 3-0 with a 2.30 GAA and a .936 save percentage.
This may be a better game to just watch instead of bet on as it’s sure to be a fun one.
Blues vs Canadiens
Really nothing I see or like from this game.
Panthers vs Islanders
Panthers are 5-3-1 and in 1st place in the Atlantic. They are middle of the league in the stats ranking in GPG and GAPG, 13th in SOG and 12th in SOGA.
The Isles played last night and are 3-2-2 and in 5th in the Metro. They rank 28th in GPG, 6th in shots, 6th in GAPG and 4th in SOGA.
With the Isles playing yesterday and the Panthers recent results I’m passing.
Blue Jackets vs Predators
Another game where nothing jumps out at me.
The Jackets are 3-3 and 1-1 on the road. The Preds are 1-5 and 1-4 at home.
Blackhawks vs Stars
The odds are going to make the Stars the heavy favorites.
Looking at the home record I do like their chances. Seeing their play against weaker competition and it doesn’t exactly give me the faith needed. They beat the Sharks 3-2 in a shootout and the Kraken 2-0. So either was blowouts. Hawks played yesterday and are riding a 3 game losing skid into this.
Would need to be -1.5 and odds for that aren’t worth it
Hurricanes vs Kraken
As far as in the standings, these teams are close. The Canes are 4-2 and in 4th in the Metro, the Kraken are 4-3-1 and in 4th in the Pacific. The Canes are 15th in GPG, the Kraken are 14th. The Canes have the advantage in most other stats like GAPG, Shots, shots against and power play %
The Canes have won 2 in a row and are 3-1 on the road and the Krakens have lost 2 straight and are 2-2-1 at home.
Close game so I’m passing.
Penguins vs Canucks
The Pens have fallen in the standings thanks to losing 4 in row. The 4losses were against some strong teams though the Canes, the Jets, the Flames and the Isles.
The Canucks have won 3 in a row to give their early season some life. Thanks to the win streak they are now 3-1-2. Cause for concern for them is their home play where they have gone 0-2-0.
Sharks vs Knights
The Knights won their last game but are 1-2-1 in last 4. They have been good at home going 4-0.
I would think that the Knights would win this game and we would have to take them -1.5. That’s completely possible but this is the Knights first back to back of the season for them so I’m passing.
I think the LA Kings win today. My system is also pointing to it, but there isn’t much data on Utah. Anyway, the last game (pre season) was close and today the Kings have the home ice advantage. I just don’t really like the odds, so I’m not betting on it today.
A little writing error in the Wild v Flyers analysis, but we understand so it’s fine.
Got Wild, Panthers, Stars -1.5 and Knights -1.5
I took Columbus on the reverse puckline of +2.5, at X1.44.
I’m expecting them to win the game, so +2.5 looks like free money (but always willing to be surprised).
LA/Utah looks like Over 5.0, but not taking it.
Rangers moneyline win looks like a given.
Not touching the Canucks/Pens game, but expecting the Canucks to win there, and probably a full game Over 5.5 situation, as the Pens are letting in goals: a league-worst 39 goals so far! The Pittsburgh Penguins are the most horribly managed team in the league, now that Arizona is in the history books. Crosby should demand a trade, the franchise is done with their current owner and GM.
