A 2-0 winning night yesterday.
Had the Jets in regulation to beat Utah, and it took them a little bit but they got the job done.
Had the Avs in regulation to beat the Kraken, and it was certainly a little bit of a sweat at the end, but the Avs pulled away.
To be honest I’m most happy about my Canes analysis yesterday, that that one would rely on an empty net goal to go over the handicap, and that’s exactly what happened.
Quick tip for anyone looking to run for office in the US in 4 years time – run on the promise that you will sort out the NHL scheduling, and it’ll be another landslide victory. From 11 games on Election night noless, to 3 today? C’mon. Balance that shit out.
Alright let’s look at todays three:
Capitals vs Predators:
Washington coming in off that tough Canes loss. They’ve picked themselves up multiple times this season. Nashville had that 3-0 loss to the Kings.
Actually a bit surprised at the odds, considering the results and my current thoughts on both teams. Looking at the metrics, CF% and FF% is basically a wash. Washington scoring more than expected but they still have a very high 3.91 xGF/60. Preds conceding more but their xGA/60 is still 3.03.
Washington seem a decent enough play here. I mean with the odds, there’s not an absolute ton of value or anything but I do like the Caps in this spot.

Blackhawks vs Red Wings:
Blackhawks much better CF% and FF%. Scoring moare and expected to score more, conceding slightly more but a better xGA/60. Yet they are underdogs. Huh.
What the Red Wings have going for them, is Cam Talbot. He’s confirmed in net, he’s 3.11 with a solid 0.923 SV%. If he’s able to stop the Hawks then so be it, but their offense is trending upwards right now as it should be.

It’s funny but I had to really push myself with both of those. It’s a weird feeling going 2-0, then immediately having two picks where I could lose it back. Usually with the way NHL scheduling is, that isn’t an issue. It can be tricky at times to distance yourself from previous results. One reason I feel good not having the record posted and updated every day.
OIlers vs Knights:
Happy to pass on this. Oilers are erratic, the Devils loss might be the end of their McDavid-motivated run. Knights are just weird af on the road.
What a run Greame! I’m surprised you chose two plays out of three.
Thanks mate. I have been fortunate so far this season that variance hasn’t reared its ugly head. But it will eventually 🙂
Thank you guys for your picks. Tough day in the US right now. Glad there’s still nhl betting!
I thought Red Wings would be a smart play today.
Because u have picked Blackhawks, I take a look into it…
No, I don’t think the Blackhawks will win 3 in a row.
Red Wings will handle it.
But no nhl bet for me today.
Nashville Josi to score +420
Orlov was able to pick up a couple goals against Washington last game out for Carolina. Josi could have similar success.
Chicago Bedard to score +175
Hasn’t scored in last 4. Shooting the puck though. Picked up 3 assists last game vs Ducks. Could net one here.
Detroit Raymond to score +240
There could be heavy focus on DeBrincat and Kane to score, but it’s tough to choose between and they are priced lower than Raymond. I’m seeing them paired together with Larkin on the top line. However, Detroit is going to have to start getting offensive production from somewhere else.
He’s not shooting enough so that’s a concern. But I think he has best chance being paired with Compher and Copp, who aren’t high volume shooters either.
I really contemplated Detroit’s Berggren, but this might be more of a Kane and Debrincat game, with their ties to Chicago. Also of note, Tarasenko who plays on his line, hasn’t gotten a shot on goal in 5 straight games. So they might look to be getting him involved as I don’t know what the issue is.
I looked ahead and Detroit has two tougher matchups vs Toronto and Rangers on deck. I might take a shot in one of those on Berggren just because the odds should be even higher. And he’s already high at +450. Where I really want to use him in bets is probably Pittsburgh and the West Coast trip. I think Detroit might let him cook there. So I’m actually rooting that he doesn’t score here.
To Score Props
Nashville Josi +420
Chicago Bedard +175
Detroit Raymond +240
