I had one tip yesterday and it didn’t come through for me.
I had Over 5 in the Wild vs Coyotes game. The Coyotes did their part but it wasnt enough as they won 4-0. With the win the Coyotes are now only 1 point behind the Avalanche for the 8th spot in the West.
Overall it was a good day of action yesterday.
The Flames beat the Sharks 5-3 and with the win they clinched the top spot in the West. It’s the first time since 1989-90 they have clinched 1st. This guarantees them home ice through the Western Conference playoffs. The last time they clinched the West, the won the franchises only Stanley Cup.
The Blue Jackets beat the Sabres 4-0 for their 5th straight win. With the win they moved into the 1st Eastern Conference wildcard spot but only 1 point ahead of the Hurricanes.
Speaking of the Canes they lost 3-1 to the Penguins. With 3 games left for them the Penguins now need only 2 points to clinch a playoff spot for the 13th year in a row which is the top current streak in the league.
The other games of the night were upsets. The Rangers shutout the Flyers 3-0 and the Red Wings beat the Bruins 6-3.
A busy Monday with 8 games scheduled. Despite the number of games we couldn’t come up with a tip. But here’s what we had discussed on some of the games.
Rangers vs Devils – Always good games between these teams but with both elminated it could go either way.
Capitals vs Panthers – The Caps have won 4 in a row, have clinched a playoff spot and Ovechkin is flying. I would say I think they have a great shot at winning this game but the Panthers have some players going for personal bests so who knows what happens here.
Maple Leafs vs Islanders – Tavares makes his second visit to Long Island as a Maple Leaf. The Leafs have lost 7 of their last 10 while the Isles are 6-4. Should be a good game and the crowd will let Tavares hear it the whole game. The first time Tavares came back the Isles pounded the Leafs 6-1. Leafs will be looking for revenge.
Lightning vs Senators – Lightning should pound the Sens here but Ottawa is coming off of a win against the rival Leafs so they have embraced the spoiler role
