Two games yesterday, and both games forced a Game 7.
The Boston Bruins came to Toronto and left with a 4-2 victory. The Bruins deserved the win as the majority of the Leafs just didn’t put the effort in. A very frustrating one for Leafs fans.
It was a crushing blow for the Vegas Knights with a shorthanded goal from Hertl in double overtime and the Sharks take the momentum, and Game 6. What a game that was. Double overtime playoff hockey. Can’t beat it.
It’s Monday, April 22nd 2019 and we could see two series wrap up tonight although from an entertainment perspective, we hope that’s not the case.
The Carolina Hurricanes host the Washington Capitals and the Dallas Stars host the Nashville Predators. The Capitals and Stars both hold 3-2 leads in the series.
Let’s get to it:
Capitals vs Hurricanes Game 6 Betting Tips:
Scott: The Caps looked amazing in game 5 despite being without TJ Oshie. They dominated the Canes winnng 6-0. Devante Smith-Pelly took Oshie’s spot in the lineup and the crowd in Washington went nuts for him. He was a crucial piece for last years Cup team.
The Canes need to find a way to rebound. They had won 2 in a row at home but answered that with the asskicking they took in game 5.
I do like the Caps chances to win the series but each game has been won by the home team. The Canes home fans are crazy and will help them in this game but after game 5 I’m not sure how this one will go

Graeme: When you see a series like this with the home/road split in terms of wins, it makes it so hard to make a bet on anything other than the home team. The way I approach it is the odds make it that I can’t bet the Capitals – so can I find enough confidence to bet on the Hurricanes?
The big thing is how do they respond after a huge loss like they experienced in Game 5. Looking at the regular season, unfortunately it’s sort of mixed. I see a more common trend there where the Hurricanes take two big losses in a row before turning it around. 6-2 loss at NYR, 4-1 loss at home to the Sens before 7-4 over Oilers. That sort of thing. But then later in the season there was some solid bounce back as well. Some of course were opponent dependent.
Studying it all – I just think there’s more of a chance that the Caps take it. But I can’t bet them at that price. I’ll be rooting for the Canes for a game 7 even though we took the Caps for the series ha. No Bet
Predators vs Stars Game 6 Betting Tips:
Scott: The Stars are coming off of two big wins by a combined score of 10-4. The Preds are a good team and need to find a way to get the “JOFA” line going. They have only 4 points in the series after having 162 during the regular season.
But the Stars have been the better team. Rinne has been shaky for the Preds and that is going to hurt them and may ultimately be the reason they get elimnated.
After the last two games I have to think that the Stars have the momentum going for them. If the Preds can win this game and take it back to Nashville then I would have a different opinion. But the Stars can’t allow that to happen.

Graeme: I’m very surprised by the Stars. Not so much the Preds. But I lost faith in the Stars around Christmas and never really regained that so I’m stunned they are in the spot that they are in.
It’s a desperation game for the Preds as it’s their Game 7. For the Stars they don’t want it to go back to Nashville. I’m good to back some desperation hockey.
