Was a busy night with 10 games yesterday.
Ovechkin scored again when his Capitals beat the Bruins 4-3. He is now only 4 away from the record. The Jackets picked up the decisive 8-4 win against the Preds.
The Lightning beat the Islanders 4-2 and the Panthers lost 3-2 in OT to give the Lightning are 1 point lead of the Panthers in the Atlantic. Sens lost a big one to the Sabres 5-2 and the Kings beat the Jets 4-1
For tonight we have 5 games.
Wild vs Rangers
Big game for both teams here.
The Wild have lost their last 2 games and are 4-4-2 in last 10. They are in 7th place in the West and 6 points behind the Avalanche who are in 3rd in the Central.
The Rangers are 4-5-1 in last 10 and are in 9th in the East. They are 2 points behind the 8th place Canadiens.
With 2 crucial points on the line I expect both teams to show up.
Capitals vs Hurricanes
Another big game. The one is between the top 2 teams in the Metro.
The Capitals are in 1st in not only the Metro but the East. They played yesterday and won with Ovechkin getting 1 goal closer to the record.
The Canes are in 2nd in the Metro with 94 points which is 11 behind the Caps and 7 ahead of the Devils. They are 8-2-0 in last 10 and on a 2 game win streak.
At some point the Caps can probably let their foot off the gas and coast for a bit but not until Ovechkin hits the record and the Canes also are looking to clinch a playoff spot so this should be a good game.
Panthers vs Leafs
This is going to be a great game.
The Panthers played yesterday and lost 3-2 in OT to the Habs. They are in 3rd the Atlantic and are only 2 points back of these division leading Leafs.
The Leafs are in 1st in the Atlantic and have won 2 in a row. They have been decent at home going 23-13-1.
The Leafs are scoring more than the Panthers over the last 10 games. But this is also a game where it could go either way with positioning in the Atlantic on the line.
Avalanche vs Blackhawks
The Avalanche are in 3rd in the Central. They are 8 points back of the Stars and 6 ahead of the Wild. They are on a 2 game skid and are 6-2-2 in last 10.
The Hawks have been eliminated. They are on a 3 game skid and are 1-9 in last 10.
I would think the Avs win but we would have to take the -1.5 on the road bad odds so I’m passing.
Kraken vs Canucks
The Kraken have lost 2 in a row and are 4-4-2 in last 10. They have been eliminated from the postseason.
The Canucks have also lost their last 2 games. They are in 10th in the West.
These teams last played month ago and the Kraken won that one 6-3.
Would take the Canucks but it would have to be in regulation and 3 of last 6 needed overtime so no thanks.
Lean: Kraken win moneyline
Looking at the last 10 games each of Seattle and Vancouver, and who they played, Seattle hasn’t been playing that bad and show resilience. Vancouver is the big question mark. More likely to take the full game OVER though.
