There was 5 games yesterday.

The Canes beat the Caps 5-1 with the Canes clinching a spot.  Ovechkin scored to move to 3 away and he has 7 games to score 3 more.   The Leafs beat the Panthers 3-2 in a crazy close game and clinched a playoff spot with the win.  The Leafs now have a 3 point cushion over the 2nd place Lightning.

The Rangers vs Wild game did have both teams show up as expected and the Rangers won 5-4 in OT in a back and forth game and the Kraken beat the Canucks 5-0

9 tonight.  Seems like, thanks to what point we are at in the season, all games have lopsided odds.  It makes finding something to tip even more difficult.

Bruins vs Canadiens

The Bruins have fallen in to last place in the East.  They have lost 9 games in a row.

The Canadiens are in 8th and have a 2 point lead over both the Jackets and the Rangers.

This is a long time rivalry so as much as I would like to take the Habs here it’s just tough with all of the history between these teams.

Lightning vs Senators

The Lighting are in place in the Atlantic.  They are 7-2-1 in last 10 and have won their last 4 games in a row.

The Senators have lost their last 2 games but are still in 7th place in the East.

The Lighting on the road haven’t been as strong as at home going 17-17-3 away from Tampa.  But it’s hard to bet against them with two crucial points in the Atlantic on the line.  Same goes for the Sens who are looking to clinch a postseason spot.  Should be a good game and a fun one to watch.

Avalanche vs Jackets

The Avalanche are in 3rd in the Central.  They are 6-2-2 in last 10 and on a 2 game losing skid and have gone 20-15-1 on the road.  They played last night and won 3-2 in a shootout to the Blackhawks.

The Jackets are in 9th in the East and only 2 points behind the 8th place Habs and they have game in hand on them.

With the Avs playing last night and the Jackets in need of points I’m not sure who wins this one.

Predators vs Stars

Predators have been eliminated.

The Stars are in 2nd in the Central and have clinched a playoff spot.  They have won their last 6 games and are only 4 back of the Jets.

I want to take the Stars here but it would need to be -1.5 which could happen but with them already clinched do they go as hard as that?

Penguins vs Blues

The Penguins are in 13th in the East.  They are 8 points back of the Habs who are in the final wild card spot.

The Blues have been incredible.  They are on 7th in the West.  They are on fire right now and what a perfect time to do so.  They have won 10 in a row and are only  points behind the 3rd place

Blues better in CF, CA, SF/60, SA/60, GF/60, GA/60 and both sides of the expected goals.

Can’t ignore the Blues success over their last 10 and with them still at home I’m going to take them.

Blues win in regulation

Kings vs Utah

Kings on the road so I have no interest in them.

Utah has won their last 2 games but are still in 11th place 9 points back of the wild card.

Just nothing I like from this game.

Ducks vs Flames

Nothing here for me.  They have the same records over the last 10.

Ducks are in 12th and 15 out and the Flames are in 9th but are 7 points back of both wild card spots.

Jets vs Knights

Jets are still in 1st place in the league, are 7-3 in last 10 and 23-14-0 on the road.  They obviously are in 1st in the Central but have only a 4 point lead over the Stars.

The Knights are in 1st in the Pacific and are 7-2-1 in last 10.  They have only a 5 point lead over the Kings who are in 2nd.

This is going to be a good game with the Knights favored.  This could go either way and you can’t count out either team here

Oilers vs Sharks

The Oilers are in 3rd in the Pacific.  They have won 2 in a row and are 6-3-1 in last 10.  They are 20-14-2 on the road.

Sharks are eliminated from the playoffs so not point talking about them.

Would need to take the Oilers -1.5 on the road and the payout for that just isn’t worth it.
