Another good day in the betting as we went 2-1 including a big 2.35 win with the Blue Jackets.
I’ll take that one but honestly my analysis was way off on that game. I took the risk that the Leafs wouldn’t show up as strong as they did in Game 2 however they clearly did and picked up a big lead. Unfortunately for the Leafs they have an utterly trash defense and protecting a lead is just not something they are made for. Jackets managed to pull it back and win 4-3.
Hell I even said only to bet if Korp was in net and although he was, he ended up getting pulled!
Dirty win but I’ll take it. Much prefer to get a win with incorrect analysis as opposed to those times I feel my analysis is spot on yet it ends up being a loss. Those are always crushing.

Predators vs Coyotes Game 4 Betting Tips:
A fun series thus far. Coyotes won the first game 4-3 then got generally dominated by the Preds in Game 2. However they bounced back and won 4-1 on Wednesday.
It’s kind of similar to the above series – feels very 50/50. My gut says the Preds even up the series and we saw what they are made of in Game 2. However they are heavy favourites and not someone I can back at that price.
Even the player props aren’t appealing for this one. Lot of bad odds like Hall Over/Under is set at 3.5 shots and Ekman-Larsson is at 1.5 but the over is just 1.50 odds.
I think Saros has been pretty poor overall. Kuemper however was excellent in that last game. Looking at historical Preds performances this season, I’m a bit concerned about their performances against the top goalies. If Kuemper is performing well they may struggle to beat him.
I do think there is value in the Coyotes line, but I can’t quite bring myself to back them. If you want to go with the value, the best odds are:

Canadiens vs Penguins Game 4 Betting Tips:
Big game here. The Habs have shown that they can go toe to toe with the Penguins. Hell 2 of the Penguins 3 goals were on a power play. Then the Habs were able to come back from 3-1 down when most teams would have tapped out.
However I think Pens take this one. It’s funny as the stats don’t jive with it at all. They were average on the bounce back this year. When they had to dig deep against the Islanders last year they failed to do it in every game. But I’ve got to go with my gut here. It’s led me well so far on this series.

OIlers vs Blackhawks Game 4 Betting Tips:
The over for this one is still 6.5. Interesting looking at the advanced metrics of the last one where the Oilers deserved to win 83% of the time. Yet watching the game I really never felt that. Blackhawks I felt generally deserved the victory as they hung in there.
I’m good with backing the Oilers. Plus I have many Oilers friends so even if they lose and they go out it’s win-win as I get to crap all over them.
This is not one where I can’t fathom the Oilers losing or anything like that. I have a lot of concerns about that team but I think they can take it here.

Nice to see that it doesn’t matter what month of the year it is. October. December. February. August. You can always count on the Leafs blowing a lead.
Leafs came out fast and furious in Game 2 however couldn’t get the puck past Korp early. They came out fast and furious yet again yesterday and did manage to score.
I’m fine backing the Leafs to do that again. It seems to be working for them. This is based just off the last couple of games as opposed to the regular season where the Leafs weren’t the best 1st period team by any means.
