Home ice ended up not being a factor in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals, as the Boston Bruins gave the St. Louis Blues a huge thumping, winning 7-2..
It was just an incredible performance by the Boston Bruins, and both of us loved it. We had felt pretty strongly about the Bruins in Game 2 and were surprised by the Blues winning, so it was nice to see the performance that we had been expecting – even if it was a game late. Little bit of redemption there.
Now it’s a massive Game 4 as the Blues really have their lifes on the line. The Bruins want nothing more than to win here as then they can go home and win which is always nice.
It was just a disastrous night for the Blues. They continued to give away the penalties and suffered because of it. Star goalie Jordan Binnington was even pulled in that one.
It’s going to make for an interesting game now.
Blues vs Bruins Game 4 Betting Tips:
Scott:Wow did the Bruins ever respond after losing game 3. The Blues penalty killing was shit. They allowed the Bruins to go 4-4 with the man advantage. And the Bruins managed to chase Jordan Binnington from the crease which was the first time in his NHL career.
With the way Boston went into St Louis and dominated the way they did its hard to bet against them. I do expect a better effort from the Blues though and with that being said I’ll take the over in this game.
Over 5.5 incl OT/SO – 0.5u
Graeme: When I analyzed the teams playoffs so far last time out, one thing that stuck in my mind was that the Blues are the team that you can generally count on when the chips are down.
When the odds are against them, that’s when they seem to perform. That’s why I went with the Bruins in the last game – as I didn’t believe that was the case.
Now? Well it’s an interesting one as they’re favourites in this game and by a much bigger margin than Game 3.
I think they bounce back tonight. Everything I thought going into Game 3 about them and how they do it when the chips are down – that’s the spot they are in tonight. Binnington has a point to prove here.
0.5u on Blues incl OT/SO. Very tempted to do in regulation tbh but after the way Game 2 went I’ll go with the safer bet.
