Only the 3 games on today and nothing is really standing out for us. I’ll give a brief breakdown of the games and hopefully you’ll be able to find something to bet on.  As always, be sure to post your picks in the comments

Canucks vs Blackhawks:

As a Blackhawks fan I look forward to these games and due to my allegiance to the Hawks, I hate the Canucks.

Vancouver has had some struggles so far this year but when they take on Chicago they seem to show up no matter what their record is.   They’re 6-3-1 against the Hawks over their last 10 meetings. But they’ll be without Dan Hamuis in this game after he took a slapper to the face and will miss the next 2 months with a facial fracture.

The Hawks are 5-3-2 over their last 10 games but have the momentum of Patrick Kane and his awesome point streak which will help them in their quest to win their 4th in 5 games.

Devils vs Islanders:

The Devils haven’t lost in regulation  in their last 5 games, the Isles haven’t lost in regulation since November 22nd.

Devils are 5-2-3 over their last 10, the Isles are 7-1-2.

On paper this would seem like the game would go the way of the Islanders but New Jersey has been a surprise team this year after the horrible season they had last year. They have a decent record but haven’t won  consecutive games in almost a month.

Avalanche vs Blues

The Avalanche have been ok over their last 10 going 6-4.  They played against the Predators last night and came away with the 3-2 win to have them at 4-2 in the month of December.

The Blues are wrapping up their homestand in this one and will be looking to break even after taking losses to the Flyers and Leafs.  The one positive from this though is they beat the Stars 3-0 on Saturday night.

I like the Blues to win but their isn’t any value and I’m not confident enough in them to take them in regulation.

Very tough night to choose. So i wil try some kind of lottery.
1unit on Devils@3.25
1unit on Avalanche@ 3.65
1 unit on Canucks @ 3.65
Will be enough to win one single bet to recover all the money.

ET

NJ/NYI: Isles have the edge; Playing the Isles on a btob will help Jersey but Schneider will have to come up big. Henrique & Zajac (top 2 centers) are out and possibly Stepniak all with 23pts each;
Van/Chi: The Hawks have the edge; Crawford has given up 3 goals in his last 3 games & losing Hamhuis (+7) won’t help either; It’s up to the Sedins…again to lead the team. Good luck tonight!

St.Louis-Colorado; Who will win another 24 hours in the Divisional calculation confirmed the rise in forms and emerge from the crisis? 2.C St. Louis (17-4-9) after 4 defeats in five games last night with the uncertainty of waiting for a leading club leagues Dallas, but then, thanks to unbeaten keeper Jake Allen (26 defenses) went 3: 0, captain David Backes after bad start Season certificates arrive in the right form with a goal and ball, missed, of course, is not the goal of the first superstar Vladimir Tarasenka (16 + 11/28). “Note” braijo high 2nd place Central Division, tonight will be again in the door of 25-year-old American Allen. 7.c. Colorado (13-1-16) in the bottom of the group with 11 points less than Bluesov, yet the beach is now a breath and started to reduce the backlog. 4 wins in 6 matches are encouraging proceeds, but even more so in an away victory last night in Nashville with 3: 2, wherein the second match in a row backache let the captain Gabriel Landeskog. Key deo last night passed Semyon Varlamov is provided in the door for the evening. It warms the supporting cast Avsov, so last night in the middle of the last third goal decides to Norwegian Andreas Martinsen (2 + 2/14). Everyone should give its opinion on who will be the winner of today’s game?

NY Islanders-New Jersey 0

St.Louis-Colorado 1

Chicago-Vancouver 2

My opinion is NY Islanders 0, St. Louis, Vancouver in regular work. 60min.

All you please for cooperation that can make the winning ticket.

With respect!

ET

Dusan, Just wanna make sure I understand. Are you asking for our cooperation to tell you who is going to win instead of commenting on who we think has the best chance to win?

New Jersey Devils vs New York Islanders

Islanders to win

Computer calculated win % for Islanders is 61.8% and so at their current money line price of 1.66 this it gives a +EV of 2.59%.
The Islanders are ranked 10 places higher than the Devils in my team rating system.
Islanders GF/G = 2.7 and GA/G = 2.3
PK = 85.4% and they have been low on times short handed.
Devils GF/G = 2.5 GA/G = 2.3
Lower PK of 82% and more times shorthanded than NY.
New Jersey are without top 2 centres tonight due to injuries. This could be a big blow for them.
Although the Islanders played last night in a overtime win against the Blue Jackets and could be tired, they have been on good form and have home ice advantage. Devils played 2 days ago in a tough fought OT win against the Wings.
New York have won 7 of last 10, with Devils winning 5/10.
Islanders have good previous record against Devils, winning last 4, 1 in OT, 1 in SO and 2 in regulation. All wins were with Halak in goal (who won’t be starting today) but Greiss is a good back up goalie and has pretty good save % too.

prfekt! very nice,

ET

All the research (stats, streaks, injuries, goaltenders)& the teams overall attitude are huge when you you make a pick & ultimately, you decide if you want to bet on it; This site is a great way to help each other with information & promote discussions. If someone is very confident & writes who will win that’s great but I don’t think you can expect it every night. The salary cap has changed the state of the game. The games a lot tighter, less goals are being scored & therefore harder to predict but it also means upsets are always a possibility and that’s where we can make more money. Bottom line? The game is decided on the ice by the players not by us. 🙂

Tony

Very true. If we could pick every winner all the time we would be very rich men haha ?.
The key is finding good expected value in our bets.

We can’t say one team should definitely beat another one. I mean, If I played Tiger Woods in a round of golf there’s a long long shot I would beat him in any one given day. He would destroy me over 10 rounds, a 100 rounds or 1000 rounds though. Ultimately humans can make mistakes, have off days, get tired and in a slump mentally and physically and it comes down to the team performance on any random given day.
But if we pick well enough over a course of the season we can make a tidy profit.

If sportsbooks can make money by the maths in the way they make their prices, then we as bettors can make it by the same principle, as the sportsbooks have to adjust their lines based on what the public are putting money on.

The other major advantage you have as a bettor is you have the option of not betting at all. As daft as it seems, this can make you a lot of money over time by you minimising a lot of potential losses or negative expected value bets.
