I had no tips yesterday.
The Sens were up 3-0 after the 2nd and the Habs scored twice but it wasn’t enough and the Sens won 3-2.
The Wild beat the Wings 4-1 with Gaudreau scoring twice for the Wild.
The final game of the night was the Canucks vs the Flames and Canucks won 4-3 in a shootout
A bunch of games again tonight.
Ducks vs Canadiens
The Ducks continue to struggle. They are in last place in the league and scored the fewest goals and slow the most in the league.
The Habs made an effort last night but fell short in their loss.
With Gibson and Stolarz both injured it looks as though Dostal will be the starter moving forward.
I want to take the Habs here with the Ducks being the Ducks but the Canadiens aren’t much better. And with the 3rd string goalie in net the Ducks may rally around him. I’m skipping
Kraken vs Hurricanes
This should be a good game between two of the better teams in the league this season so far.
The Kraken are in 2nd in the Pacific and the Canes are 2nd in the Metro.
The Kraken are the better offensive team where the Canes are better defensively.
They played once this season in October and the Canes won 5-1.
The Kraken last 10 games 6-4, the Canes 6-1-3. On the road the Kraken are 9-3-1, at home the Canes have gone 5-3-1.
The Canes are favored to the point that if we take them we have to go with at least regulation and against the Kraken that’s not a sure thing. I have to skip.
Stars vs Capitals
The Stars have gone 5-3-2 over their last 10 and won their last game against the Devils.
The Caps are 7-2-1 over last 10 and enter this game on a 5 game win streak.
After Ovechkin made history in his last game and he now has a chance to tie Gordie Howe for 2nd on the all-time goal list he and his team are going to be pumped for this at home not to mention the home town fans.
The Caps are underdogs here and they are at home so I’m good with taking them to win.
Capitals win incl OT/SO

Leafs vs Rangers
Both teams have won 4 in a row. Both are ranked in the middle of the league in GPG and both rank high in GAPG with the Leafs 2nd and the Rangers 10th.
This should be a good game. The Rangers will have momentum after beating the Devils, Knights, Avalanche and Blues. The Leafs are flying too with 3 of their 4 wins on this streak shutouts.
With both teams on winning streaks it makes it tough to predict. I feel it’s better to just avoid this game.
Kings vs Bruins
The Bruins still haven’t lost in regulation at home and enter this game 15-0-1 in Boston and 7-2-1 over thier last 10.
The Kings have gone 4-3-3 over last 10 and 8-7-3 in the road. They are 5-6-4 over last 15. They have lost 2 in a row and have given up 6 per game in both of those.
With Kings recent play and the fact that the Bruins still haven’t lost in regulation at home I have to back them here.
Bruins in regulation

Flyers vs Devils
Lopsided odds make this a pass for me with the Devils heavily favored to win.
Penguins vs Panthers
The Penguins are riding a 6 game win streak into this game and haven’t lost in December.
The Panthers are 4-4-2 and won their last game 4-0 vs the Jackets.
The Penguins are 8-5-2 on the road and the Panthers are 8-3-3 at home.
With the Pens playing so well currently its tough to bet against them. But the Panthers are no joke and have played well when in Florida.
I have too many questions about this game amd it could go either way. I’m fine skipping this.
Jackets vs Lightning
The Jackets have gone 3-6-1 over last 10 and the Lightning have gone 7-3 and won the last 3 games.
At home the Lightning have gone 11-4-1 vs the Jackets road record of 2-6-1. The Lightning have they 5th best goals per game while the Jackets are ranked 31st in goals against.
The odds for this make it not playable.
Predators vs Jets
The Preds are on a 4 game losing streak against the Jets who have lost 2 straight.
At home the Jets have played well going 10-5-0 and on the road the Preds have gone 5-7-1.
I’m not sure about this game. One thing I’m sure of is that one of the losing skids will stop here.
Knights vs Blackhawks
The Hawks have lost 4 straight and are 1-8-1 over last 10. The Knights are 5-5, on the road where they have gone 13-2-1 and are in 1st in the Pacific.
The Knights should win this game. They have been a strong road team and against the Hawks I don’t see that changing.
I would have to take the Knights in regulation which they probably do but I fell safer to just avoid this game.
Blues vs Oilers
The Blues are having a rough time this season. They are 13-15-1 and are one of the lower scoring teams and one of the worst at defending.
The Oilers are ranked 4th in GPG with 3.63 and 22nd for GAPG with 3.40.
At home the Oilers have gone 9-7 and on the road the Blues have gone 7-8.
The Oilers have had only 2 games go to overtime this season and both were wins. So when the Oilers do win its in regulation so let’s go with that.
Oilers win in regulation

Sabres vs Avalanche
The Sabres are 5-3-2 over their last 10 including winning their last game 6-0 against the Kings. The Avalanche have won the last 2 games and are 4-5-1 over last 10.
The Sabres are ranked 1st in GPG with 3.93. The problem they are having is keeping the puck out of their own net consistently where they rank 25th allowing 3.55.
With MacKinnon and others out it gives the opposition a chance even night but the Avs are still making a run with so many players out.
I have to skip. The Avs are at home so they should win but the Sabres can show up some times.

St. Louis is not doing well these days, but not sure what’s going on with them, and I expect them to start playing higher than basement level, but who knows when or what that means; it won’t be a major change. Oilers should win, but I’ll give both teams a pass tonight. I still see New Jersey in need of a short rest, and can’t put money on them tonight. I figure 90% chance Montreal wins tonight, but they’re so full of question marks and injuries right now, not going for it, even though they’re playing a bantam beer league team.
