It was a 2-1 night last night with the tips.
Over 5 goals has to be my favourite bet in the NHL honestly. We have over 30,000 people reading these tips on a daily basis so whenever we tip, there’s always that added pressure for each game. Even if a team is up 3-0 or 4-0 we still can’t relax until it’s over. That’s why I love Over 5 so much. In both games last night where we had Over 5 goals, they were at 2-2 after the 2nd period which meant at worst they would be a push. It was so nice to relax and not worry about those games anymore and be able to put full focus on the Ducks game.
Funny one from yesterday – we were very tempted by the Leafs/Avs over. However I was concerned about the Avs offense and I said to Scott “I just don’t know if we can count on the Avs to even score. And it’s not like the Leafs can score 6 goals on their own.” And then they did just that with that huge 6-0 win on the road in Colorado. Man do the Avs have some problems.
Alright so the last day before a much needed Christmas break for us – and I guess the players too. Before we get into the tips I just want to send out a personal thank you to everyone who comments each day. I love reading them and interacting and it’s great to see other peoples opinions. More importantly is it’s a real positive place with a lot of good discussion and it’s always enjoyable to read. I’ve added many bets due to you guys and I love seeing new betting systems etc discussed.
Alright on with the tips and Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Hanukkah and whatever the hell else you all celebrate – have a good one!
Todays tips are brought to you by Banana Bread beer:
Quite bloody delicious actually.
Flames vs Canucks Betting Tips:
The Flames have a slightly better record than the Canucks and are generally just slightly better over all of the major stats. The Flames are at home where they’ve actually got a poor record of 7-9-0 but the Canucks have the worst road record in the league at 4-11-1. Flames are running a bit cold at the moment but I’ve liked most of their performances at home. Their last two losses at home were to the Jackets who are just unbelievable at the moment, and to a well rested Tampa team who came out hungry.
Canucks have had some better performances lately but we like the Flames to get the win here. We’d actually bet this one at better odds much earlier today but we’ll post the current listed price as even though it’s not as good we still think its a good bet.
Flames in Regulation.

Hurricanes vs Bruins Betting Tips:
This one is strongly goalie dependent. Take Hurricanes to win if Ward is playing and Rask is NOT. As of now it’s not confirmed. There’s rumours Leighton may start and we can’t trust him. Rask can also stand on his head at times and the Canes offense is very formulaic and it may be hard to beat Rask. If it’s Kudobin vs Leighton we’d say take the over 5.

Minnesota Wild vs New York Rangers Betting Tips:
It’s possibly Dubnyk will be in net tonight but if so well we bet over with him versus Price last night and we feel similarly confident tonight. Rangers are heavy favourites for a reason – the bookies expect them to come out hot here after that Penguins loss. We agree but we love the Wild offense at the moment as well and so the play for us, regardless of who is in net, is Over 5 Goals incl OT/SO.

Lightning vs Capitals Betting Tips:
Two wins on the trot but this is a big test for Tampa. Vasilevskiy will probably be in net and hey he’s design enough at times but the Capitals are a damn good offense and even his A game won’t be enough to stop them. We like Tampa to get some goals against the Caps too though. Holtby has a nice winning record over Tampa but he still concede the goals and I like the Tampa offense to light it up a few times.
Over 5 Goals incl OT/SO.

The last three days these are the 1st period picks (with odds) I’ve posted on the board, all three have cashed.
Wild 1P PL (2.35)
Capitals 1P 3-Way ML (2.80)
BOSvsFLA 1P DRAW (2.40)
Let’s see if we can get 4 in a row!
Blackhawks 1P 3-Way ML (2.05)
Hawks are +9 in 1st period goal differential and average .9 G/1P at home. The Avs are -14 in the first period goal differential on the road and allow 1.44 G/1P in road games. That number is a little inflated because of the Habs game were they gave up 6 goals in the first, but even after removing that game it is still above 1.1 G/1P on the road.
CBJ reg. Montoya is in net for Habs
I don’t know why but I’m afraid of a letdown after the beatdown of the Pens last night. Surely Montoya will be better and defense better than the last 10-0 whipping.
What about Blue Jackets-Canadiens going Over5,5?
I am taking again Arizona to win and over 5.5 goals because I want to hit these 6+ odds lol. Arizona might want to enter the holiday break with a bang winning big over Toronto.
I agree with you. I’m pretty sure MapleLeafs have a poor record against AZ. Toronto on B2B and Matthews will be in awe of Shane Doan. It’s a bet that makes me throw up by I’ll back Coyotes here.
Why arizona ?
Habs, Rangers, Panthers, Coyotes and Sharks.
Wow! I cannot disagree with any of your picks! Usually I’m opposite of you, no offense!
I’m curious about your thinking on the Habs. Bounce-back/revenge?
CBJ are due for a loss and the odds are nice, my opinion is that the habs will come out strong tonight, they always do when it matters, I feel they underestimated the Wild last night and that was partly to blame for their loss, I also don’t think Price has played amazingly lately and maybe Montoya will perform tonight, Price just looks off to me, but I guess he is hyped up to be more than he is too.
Not sure I agree about Montoya, but I do agree that Price needs a break because he has been off the past week or two.
I mean the game is hard to predict regardless, but the jackets did stomp the penguins, while the habs lost to wild, not sure what’s going to happen here, might stay away from it.
Yeah, still two strong teams, should be a fun game to watch! Worth noting though the last 3 times these teams have played each other, the Habs have been outscored 20-4 (10-0, 5-2, 5-2).
So many games and back to back situations it’s crazy. I like the following:
CHI -1.5 + in Reg
Pitt in Reg
NYRANGERS ML
TB/Wash Over/ Wash in Reg
FL ML
Calgary ML/ Over
Good Luck!
Confident Picks for Tonight :
Can we all agree on Chicago -1.5 vs Avalanche
Columbus either Regulation and/or by -1.5
Minnesota WILD + 1.5
SJ SHARKS Over 4.5
Pittsburgh in Regulation Time
Wild Card :
Carolina Hurricanes on the MoneyLine
Toronto Leafs MoneyLine
Buffalo Sabres MoneyLine
Pick em as you please. Make sure you feel confident bcs there’s nothing worst than placing a bet against your gut. The sting of that loss hurts much more than if you had made that mistake on your own. That’s how you learn i realized in this business. THANK YOU to @betnhl.com, you guys are awesome.
Peace and Love to All and Good Luck.

I started following you guys last year – the comments and positive vibe are rare for a blog on the internet. My favorite plays are value bets with top tier teams on the road or home dogs. Happy Holidays, I look forward to 2017.
