I hope everyone had a great Christmas or whatever it is that you and your family celebrate.

The World Juniors got off to a great start.  Canada beat Finland 4-2.  The United States destroyed Denmark 9-0.  Sweden beat Belarus 6-1 and the Czech Republic beat Russia 5-4.

We have a nice busy night of NHL games for us with 11 games.  It will be interesting to see how teams respond to the time off.

Sabres vs Islanders Betting Tips:

The Isles can score.  They have been all season and are the 2nd higest scoring offense in the league.  Rookie Matt Barzal is starting to catch fire too.  He scored a hat trick on Saturday and has 7 points over over his last 4 games.

These teams can’t stop others teams from scoring.  The Sabres are ranked 29th allowing 3.31 GPG while the Isles are ranked in last place in the league allowing 3.50.

They played each other early in the year and it was the Isles winning 6-3.

I expect this game to be a high scoring one so I’m going with  Over 5.5 incl OT/SO

USA: -120 Odds at Bovada
Everyone Else: 1.87 Odds at BetOnline.

Red Wings vs Devils  Betting Tips:

The Wings have won only 3 times in their last 15 games and sit in 28th place in the league.  They have a bunch of work to do if they are to save their season.  I don’t think they can do it.

The Devils are riding a 4 game win streak into this game.  They are in first place in the Metro Division.  This is the 5th game in a row for New Jersey at home and when you add in the Christmas break they are well rested and rejuvenated.

Devils win in regulation

Predators vs Blues  Betting Tips:

This should be a great game.  The Predators are in 2nd in the Central and the Blues are in 1st.

Nashville is on a 3 game losing skid and were outscored 14-8 in those games.

The Blues picked up a win in their last game heading into the break.  But had dropped 6 of their last 7 games.

Jake Allen has been strong at home going 10-5 with a .915 save percentage.  So with him in net I am going to back them to win this game.

Blues win incl OT/SO

Everyone Else: 1.86 Odds at Bet365 (Americans: We recommend http://www.bovada.lv

Looking for NYI O5.5 & PIT ML parlay @3.00 odds 2 unit

Half unit on NJD-0.5 NYI-0.5 parlay @3.70 odds half unit

COL O5.5 NYR ML parlay @3.30 odds half unit

Here’s some different perspective. Really like the NYI & Pit parlay mentionned above.

Thanks – made the bet and a nice profit 🙂

Johnny Hockey

Yeah, nice odds! Congrats – you’re welcome 🙂

Morning everyone,

Last edit was WPG vs BOS in a disapointing loss in shootout. Jets had PP opportunities but couldn’t make it. For those whom took the under it was a good spot. This night was -7.7 units overall but 2-1 in the tips. Heading into tonight.

»BUF vs NYI O5.5 @1.85 5 units

Nice odds for such firepower. Barzal the next McDavid?

» CLB vs PIT
Pens ml @1.64, ***POTD*** 10 units
CLB TTU2.5 @1.76

Letang has been ruled out for Pens, but Werenski, Wennberg and Atkinson are out for Colombus and I think Pens will take adbantage of it. In the same thinking, I pick TTU2.5 because of these key injuries for the Jackets, as Werenski is huge lost to puck-transition at even strenght and on man-advantage.

»MTL vs CAR
U5.5 @1.95 2 units
Canes ml @1.70 2 units

Last five games for this matchup went 1-4 on the O/U5.5, Hurricanes got destroyed 8-1 against Toronto and they seem to have clicked since then, beating struggling Buf at home and taking care of Nashville on the road. Montreal is underachieving and there isn’t really much to say.

»OTT vs BOS
Sens or draw @1.91 1 unit
Sens ml @2.65 half unit

Healthy Bruins should dominate, roll over Sens and bla-bla-bla. So what if not? Sens won 3 out of the four last meetings.

»NSH vs STL U5 @2.25 ***POTD #2*** 4 units

2-4-3-3-4, that is the Total goals for the past five games in this matchup. I will blindly bet U4.5@2.65 for 1 unit.

»EDM vs WPG O6 @2.17 2 units
O7 @3.50 half unit

Last five games O/U is 3-2 with

Blind bet on VGK ml @2.00 odds? Blind bet on the O6 @2.17 odds?

Well done man. Really thought pens were going to drop that after going 2-0 down. Jackets have a bad habit of giving up leads lately. I wanted to take NJD badly but apparently my damn bookie had other ideas, and just wouldn’t load the NHL tab.

soothsayer

I put a huge bet on Oilers ML today, very good value.

Good luck to all!

SanDiegoBruinsD

what’s your reasoning?

Oliver Trigg

Yeah I like Oilers, but Jets home form is enough to make me pass this one.

Islanders+Colorado in reg!

Oliver Trigg

Hi guys, sorry I’m late. Still on holiday. Made a nice little bounce back in the last day of NHL a few days back. Have to be short today as it is 1am here and I’m knackered from being on the beach all day (hard life). Probably not going to have time to add detailed stats to my to all my picks today so do your own homework before picking.

Bruins Reg- Rask is the better goalie here, Bruins have been exceptionally strong on the defensive end. Won 7 of their last 9. Ottawa can’t get it going on the defensive or offensive end and have been outscored 25-8 in their last 7 away games. Bruins have been great on extended rest, and even with Krejci out Bruins have enough to beat the Sens.

Avalanche ML/Reg- Routinely dismissed the Coyotes in Arizona in their last game. Avalanche is even better at home and shouldn’t struggle to put up a repeat performance. The Avalanche are a team that is better than their record shows. The Coyotes are as bad as their record shows.

Dallas ML- Value play. Dallas managed wins against the hawks and Preds to start getting back on track. Wild have lost their defensive stability which was winning games and their offense is quiet. I am more inclined to take the extra money and the shot with the team trending the positive way.

Islanders Reg – Odds aren’t fantastic considering Isles have not been that great lately. That being said the Sabres offense is anemic averaging just 1.9 goals a game. The Islanders have a habit of leaking goals, but can also score them in bunches. Simply put even though I think Sabres have an edge in the crease, they lack the edge everywhere else. Islanders finished the break on a high note thumping the Jets 5-2 and I would surprised if they struggled against the Sabres who they have routinely beaten. Islanders have been sliding but know they need to pick themselves up after the break and win the points in these easy games.

Oilers ML- Value play. Oilers are playing much better lately, and their line changes have had great effect. The Oilers have managed in 5 of the last 6 visits to the Jets. Jets have been good at home, but also are becoming a bit of a tempremental team. Sometimes they just disappear with their loss to the Islanders and thumping by the Hawks demonstrates. I like the look of the Oilers at the moment, and enough to play them. However play this with caution, the Jets are one of the best home teams in the league, and as is the case with all of the games tonight who knows what this many days off and the Xmas break will do to teams.

Vegas ML- Yes the Ducks are looking healthy again, but remember this is a Vegas team which always shows up. Vegas has beaten the best the NHL has to offer, and has not looked that bad on the road this season. Three prior victories against the Ducks also has to weigh in here. Ducks are a threat again but are against some stiff competition tonight. I know money wise Vegas has shown a talent for ruining your day when they’ve been underestimated. Everyone thought Tampa, Caps and Preds would be the ones to knock them down to size. Wrong. Even on the road Vegas has enough to win this game, and they’re a bargain as an underdog.

Caps ML- As good as the rangers have been at home, a lot of that has been down to Lundqvist. With Pavelec in net, I’m happy to take the Caps as an underdog. Grubauer is in my opinion a better goalie. I reckon Washington will be fired up after dropping both their game to the Coyotes and Vegas. They weren’t really interested in the Yotes game, and I thought sacrificed it to play harder against the Knights. For the Knights to go and then shut them out, and brush them off they’ve got to feeling motivated to beat the Rangers for the second time this season (winning 4-2 in Washington).

Leans – Devils, Canes, Preds (considered playing this but I’ve been too loyal to Preds lately and it’s been a losing strategy for the moment) , Jackets.

****Warning***** – Again with this many games on in a night it is sometimes hard to concentrate on each game enough. The extended break is also a variable which may affect teams in different ways. Don’t blindly follow my tips today- do some homework. This is why there is no POTD or confidence rating today. That being said – I am playing Bruins, Avalanche and Islanders myself- all three teams are playing the losers of the NHL. I am considering also considering a smallish play on Oilers . Comments more than welcome.

NYI TTO over 3.5 at +115 looks good too.

SanDiegoBruinsD

Hope your holiday is going well. It sounds like it’s been pretty restful so far.

In hindsight I should have taken Bs regulation, but I didn’t trust them to be sharp after the holiday. They are ahead 2-0 in the 1st so I guess that answers that question.

I liked the over in the Sabres-Isles for the same reasons S&G stated.

Also like the over in the CBJ-Pens game with both teams capable of explosive offence and the goaltending woes of Pens.

I think Preds pick up where they left off. Same with Preds, Knights and Stars.

GL

Oliver Trigg

Yes, it has been nice to get away from winter for a while (even though I was almost mugged!) . Anyway… I particularly like the stats of the Bruins with 2 days of rest or more. But I can understand your reasoning. I didn’t take Devils because I didn’t know how this young team would deal with all its recent success. I then looked over it again and tried betting it (about 3mins before they scored). For some bloody reason my bookie would not load the damn ice hockey page (maybe because I need to use a VPN to access it). Definitely going to be complaining about it though.

Islanders I will always agree with the over generally, although I hate betting them for some reason they scare me.

Pens I can’t give anymore faith to. They’ve just been so substandard, getting pumped twice by the Avs. Murray has just looked bad, and watching them is like watching paint dry.

SanDiegoBruinsD

Almost mugged?! what the hell? I like Preds and Knights to come out firing tonight. Compete level for both teams has been very high.

Oliver Trigg

Well in fact the airbnb I was staying, I was alone in and intruders entered the property. I was up late watching Ice Hockey so heard them come in. Looked out the curtains and saw them with flashlights and one had a handgun….. Thanks NHL for saving my ass lol

InkedFive0

I don’t know if I’d call that almost getting mugged. Lol

Oliver Trigg

It was a shorter way of explaining it. They were trying to get in the door and I was pulling on the door handle to keep them out. So it was pretty intense either way

SanDiegoBruinsD

LVGK came through but my other bets were duds. Good thing I had LVGK PL. I like them as dog tonight, otherwise slim pickings

Oliver Trigg

Well at least you got that. I really liked Vegas to win it, and yet I somehow couldn’t pull the trigger lol.

Oliver Trigg

On the Preds- blues seem to be struggling hard without Schwartz and yeah I believe Preds will take the game. I’ll hold off on betting it though because I’ve been caught in their losing streak lately, and Blues are no push overs.

SanDiegoBruinsD

Glad to hear you survived that close all. Pretty scary shit. Preds are looking better and better as game goes on. I think Knights are a great value tonight.

Hi, i’m new at this site so i will post here my bets for nhl, gl if someone follows! 🙂

#1 Colorado Avalanche – Arizona Coyotes
FT(OT excl.) Away (1X2) @ 3.050
10/10 188bet
Ice Hockey / NHL / Kick off: 28 Dec 2017, 03:00

fair value 2.482

* The Colorado Avalanche will be without defenseman Tyson Barrie for a while after he suffered a broken hand in his final game prior to the holiday break. The Avalanche are already struggling on the back end, ranked 24th overall in goals against per game.
——————————
#2 Colorado Avalanche – Arizona Coyotes
Full Event (OT Incl) Away -1.50 (AH) @ 4.370
10/10 PINNACLE
Ice Hockey / NHL / Kick off: 28 Dec 2017, 03:05

fair value 3.556

Oliver Trigg

Be careful not to over value the loss of one defenseman. The Coyotes aren’t exactly a potent offensive team and have managed just 4 goals in their last 5 games. Also Avalanche have outscored their opposition 60-48 in their home games this season….I’m not sure Yotes have the firepower here.

Juri Safoshin

Great prediction and the approach ?
