It was quite the disappointing performance from the Leafs last night, as they lost 4-2 at home to the Ottawa Senators. We had the over there but Korpisalo kept the Leafs at bay.
Jets also had a disappointing outing in Chicago. It was a pretty crazy day overall. That Avs/Coyotes game was mental.
After a big slate, we’ve now got just a 4 game schedule today.
Let’s see what we’ve got going on:
Hurricanes vs Canadiens:
We saw the Canes in action yesterday, with the win over the Preds.
If you’re backing the Canes, you’re backing them on the handicap and I don’t like that with how hard the Habs can push against teams. Plus the whole B2B.
But I don’t think it’s worth rolling the dice on the Habs either. Like – I can see it. And I could kinda justify it. Better xGF. CF/60 isn’t massive difference. FF/60 very close. But not sure I can really trust Primeau.
No bet on that one.
Canucks vs Flyers:
Both teams first game back. Canucks have been very impressive lately even with conceding goals they have been able to outscoure their opponents. Flyers have been quite interesting lately with just the one regulation loss in December so far.
It feels like a highly contested game where the over would be appealing but the data isn’t backing it up too much particularly to do with the Flyers GA/60 and SCGA/60. In saying they they do have a high xGA/60 and the Canucks do know how to score.
This is one where the data doesn’t really back it up, but I still like Kings/Canucks Over 6 incl OT/SO. Flyers with that resurgence against the Wings, Canucks leaky lately but teams are not stopping them scoring. We’ll go against the data for this one.

Knights vs Kings:
Knights just terrible at the moment. Kings picked up a couple of wins and hope to go on a run again no doubt. Dicey game. I’d lean the Kings, but the Knights high variant offense and defense makes it tricky. If I had slightly better odds I’d probably take the Kings.
Sharks vs Oilers:
Before the break the Oilers got two wins on the road against Rangers and the Devils. But I am NOT taking Oilers -2.5 on the road. No way jose. I mean with the Oilers offensive metrics and Sharks defensive metrics I could see it – but no bet here.
