Quite the night of NHL action last night.
The Florida Panthers absolutely HAMMERED the Flyers goal and Mason stepped up big in that one. He racked up a whopping 42 saves overall as the Flyers squeaked out the win in overtime.
The Calgary Flames got a gritty 2-1 win on the road in Dallas which extended their winning run to 4. The Flames are now 3rd in the Pacific and with Johnny Hockey back things are going to be interesting there especially with the Oilers struggles.
The Predators struggled to hold a lead but managed to get the regulation win against the Colorado Avalanche. The Avs are now on a 6 game losing streak.
Tonight we’ve got 4 games on the board kicking off with the Leafs vs Wild. The Capitals take on the Bruins, the Hurricanes are in Anaheim and the Senators visit San Jose.
If you’re looking for confirmation on starting goalies, we highly recommend LeftWingLock.com.
Ducks vs Hurricanes Betting Tips:
The Anaheim Ducks are coming off that shocking loss on the road in Calgary and will be looking to turn things around tonight. Ducks have been solid at home.
The Canes have struggled to score on the road and are without Jordan Staal again. Cam Ward is in net which is a bit of a concern – I’ve really liked his performances lately – but I just think the Ducks are going to be too much for them.
Ducks to win in regulation IF Gibson is in net.

Sharks vs Senators Betting Tips:
We’re going to go with the Sharks in regulation. A bit concerned because Logan Couture might not be playing but we like the Sharks fire power regardless.
Jones has been on fire and we think the Senators will struggle to score against him. Condon is in net for the Senators. To his crdit he’s been damn good so far this season for them and he’s not a bad goalie by any means but we think the Sharks will be too powerful for him tonight.
Sharks in regulation if Jones starts.

3-1, +2.04u last night (+3.47u in Dec.) So close to a perfect night again. Another blown 3rd period lead with less than 5 minutes, this time by the Flyers, kept me from a perfect night. Still any +unit night is a good night. Only 4 games today and it is really tough to find something I feel confident about, so just one pick tonight.
Sharks in Regulation (1.80)
I have the same bets! So far I dont’t know what to pick for Caps/Bruins & Leafs/Wild…
> Yesterday was just AMAZING for me! Maybe somebody went with me & my picks 🙂
Yesterday’s post/picks:
” Finally I’m ready:
> Devils in regulation (@1.86)
> Rangers/Islanders OVER 5.5 (@2.05)
> Flyers in regulation (@2.05)
> Predators in regulation (@1.86)
Adding some bets here:
> Islanders in regulation (@2.70)
> Flames in regulation (@2.80)
> Red Wings in regulation (@3.00)
> Blackhawks in regulation (@1.76)
> Sabres/Oilers OT (@3.65)
> COMBO 1: Hawks/Coyotes UNDER 5.5 & Blues ML (@2.74)
> COMBO 2: Red Wings ML, Islanders ML, Flames ML (@9.69) “
Nice hits last night 🙂
Yeah, thx. Highlight was Combo 2 🙂
Good job 🙂
3-1, +2.04u last night (+3.47u in Dec.) Close to perfect again last night. Another blown 3rd period lead with less than 5 minutes, this time by the Flyers, gave me 1 in the loss column. Only 4 games today and it’s tough to find something I feel good about, so just one official pick.
Sharks in Regulation (1.80)
Not super confident, but if you need some action in every game (not an official pick/parlay):
Leafs FT, Bruins/Caps OT, Ducks/Canes OT, Sharks FT (52.73)
I dont know what to pick either maybe leafs over 2.5g but then wilds defense looks solid enough.
Yeah, it’s really a battle of strengths tonight in that game, Leafs offense (especially at home) vs Wild D, which has been solid.
Down to my last hope tonight before I have to give back everything I won and pay back my credit card. Awful reality of being in school and almost broke.
Thinking $22 on Ducks and Sharks in regulation
$3 Golden State -5, Leafs, Caps Ducks Sharks ML
Good?
I don’t have a great feel for the games tonight. My system leans towards the Ducks and Shark, but also the under in both games, which means my model thinks they are going to be close games. I definitely WOULD NOT parlay anything in your situation, especially tonight, mostly because I think this is a tough slate of games, and I think I can construct a decent argument for each team to win their respective games tonight. I’m making small play on the Sharks because that is the team I have the most faith in tonight, but I’m not as confident as I have been the past couple of nights.
Don’t you think though that the Ducks after that debacle in Calgary will come out hard and that their superior roster will take it to the Canes? And in San Jose the Sharks have a huge goaltending advantage. Thought by keeping my main bet to these 2 picks I should be safe
Ducks ML for insurance
Sharks in regulation
I think the Canes can compete tonight. Everyone thought the Preds would come out firing yesterday because of the bad beats they had the previous two nights, and they still almost blew the game to an inferior Avs team. I agree about the Sharks. But I’m not sold on the Ducks tonight, just like I had an iffy feeling about the Jets yesterday. You do what you have to do, and I wish you the best of luck, BUT if I was in your position, I wouldn’t be going for the boom or bust strategy of parlaying.
Even if it’s just the two picks together? So you would split the two picks up then?
If I split them up I don’t see the value though that’s the only problem. What are your suggestions on how I can do this right today?
And you’re right. Man if i had the backing to be able to go with single picks I would be killing it. You’ve seen for yourself how many times I hit 3/4 for example already
I feel like you’re not going to like my suggestions because they are not going to win you a lot of money quick. First, I think you are looking at value wrong. Yeah, parlaying 3-4 teams together gets you awesome odds, but that’s not great value, because you are most likely going to lose 1 of those games, and then the books win. The value in single bets doesn’t come from the odds, but the likelihood of return on interest. My suggestion is to place small single wagers and try to build your bankroll back up slowly.
I agree with you and that was going to be my plan moving forward, that’s why I was so choked last night when I it looked like I was going to win the whole time. But yeah I’m finally starting to fully realize I need to go that route. But with $25 to play with at this very moment I figured those 2 picks (I never only go with 2) would a pretty safe method of going about it. But if those picks seem shaky then maybe I change how I about this today
I don’t mean to be blunt or anything, I feel for you. I’m just telling you what I would do in your situation. And like I said, in my opinion today is not the day to risk it all, I hate today’s games in terms of betting. 10 games on the schedule tomorrow, should provide some better options.
No its fine, I fully understand. So you really think I should go with $5 on each game kind of deal? Do you know anything about basketball, Golden State has been on fire lately and thought perhaps GS -5 with Sharks might be better than Sharks and Ducks? Just a thought
I don’t really watch the NBA sorry, just NHL, NFL, and MLB. Yes. With a $25 bankroll I would say $5 is the max I would do on a bet, and you have to hope for a good run because that’s 20% of your bankroll still.
How do you feel about the Caps tonight? Actually if I’m going on pure instinct and gut feeling (which is a strength of mine) I feel like the Caps are more trustworthy in this spot than the Ducks?
Caps and B’s are both evenly matched in terms of G and GA/game the last two weeks, but Caps are getting Oshie back which should give them a boost up and down the line up. If I had to play something in that game, it would probably be Caps ML, but that’s because I feel like that game could go to OT.
I agree with that analysis. Okay how about I ask you this. In each of the four games, give me your confidence level in terms of percentages on a scale of 51-100 on the winners. 51% being the slightest of edges and next to a guarantee of extra time and 100% being automatic. You can include totals too. So i guess your 8 picks with a gun to your head and their subsequent confidence levels
If that makes any sense?

Until you are in a better financial position you should just STOP gambling. Chasing when you are not winning is the worst thing you can do. I have been in the handicapping business for over a decade and I have become pretty hardened by how brutal this business can be. Reading your story made me cry…..
Hei, can you postsome games I should bet on?
I have a busy day at work today but I’m hoping to post something later this afternoon.
I haven’t had time to really study the games today so these picks come with a not fully endorsed warning, but I like the over in the St. Louis game, I think the capitals and jackets win. I do like the sharks tonight assuming jones is in net against the ducks back up goalie.
Hey guys. Because of the thing with the starting goalies: Sbd. called it here some days ago. You can also use this app on Smartphone “OwnersBox”. I didn’t know it, but it is also fun browsing stuff when you have nothing to do. 😉
Picks will come later and I’m going to start an OT project, because I have this massiv OT hitrate and I can’t hold it back anymore. Haha 🙂
Just found this site to see how many times did teams win or lose OT games if it is any of help
https://www.sportingcharts.com/nhl/stats/team-win-loss-record-by-type-regulation-overtime-and-shootout/2016/
Like it! 🙂
I don’t feel comfortable in betting OTs, but for real man I have this 50% OT hitrate and it became even more the last 2 weeks.
The only thing I like is this combo. Would be funny if Caps go in OT and win the game. 😀
That would be extremly funny 😀 but from the other point of view how many games go to OTs lately and if you can predict which ones are more likely, it can be very profitable because of Odds.
Hahaha it just happened.
Had a nice laugh 🙂
Decent last night for me. 5-3 w/ 1 push. Especially happy with the Sabres-Oilers OT pick, as i felt like i did a lot of research on that. Even OT picks are sometimes possible to predict (said to my friend the Sabres would be down a goal in the 3rd and tie it up late).
I don’t feel that bad about the losing picks either as they were all pretty close. My last minute bet on the Panthers didn’t work out but man oh man it wasn’t for a lack of trying. Devils won in regulation as expected but failed to cover the handicap, and the Red Wings didn’t get it done in reg. but won in the SO. I wish i went with ML on that one and just in general i feel like i lose way too many underdog picks by going for reg straight up. Those are always the type of games that have a higher chance for OT and it doesn’t do much good to win one with 3-4 odds but then lose the next 3 bets.
Tonight:
Bruins @ Capitals
Pick: Capitals in regulation
– Caps snapped their 3 game losing streak, but they can’t be happy with the way they’re playing and whenever you lose 3, teams tend to feel like 1 win doesn’t cut it. You need to make up for those losses which makes sense. So im expecting the Caps to do everything they can to win it tonight. Bruins are getting the results lately, so you’d think they don’t have the same hunger. B’s offense got a bit of a spark in their last game, but the reality is they still average only 2 goals in regulation over their last 3, so i don’t think they could overpower the Caps with their offense. And check this out: Since Trotz became the Caps headcoach, Rask has lost all 6 starts with not-so-impressive 90.6% save pct. Holtby on the other hand, has won 11 of 13 career vs Bruins with a solid 95.2%. Worried about Caps struggles to score? Oshie is back, and so far this year it’s looked like he’s a huge piece to that forward group. Suddenly they become much more deeper team offensively. And wait, there’s more ! This season there’s been 3 instances of when the Caps lost and then played the next 2 games at home. All 3 times they won both of those home games.
If i lose this bet i can’t go back and say i didn’t have a case.
That’s the only pick i have for tonight. GL !
Oh and for what it’s worth, i have this tingling that the Hurricanes upset the Ducks tonight.
Ducks won 3 straight and got to that “good feel” point. And from my experience, losing 2 afterwards doesn’t necessarily mean they get into that absolute must win mentality again. Sure, they want to win this, but i’d argue that the Canes want it even more, especially when going up against a big team like the Ducks in their building.
These young teams (Oilers, Leafs for example) have had major success in these type of games this year. Where you go in as the underdogs and surprise everybody.
Of course this isn’t just enough to beat a team like the Ducks, but they also have the goaltending to go along with it. Ward is 98.5% over his last 2 starts and the Canes are excellent defensively.
My major concern is can the Canes score, as 1-2 goals per game is hardly enough to win hockey games, but at the same time the Ducks defense was horribad in their last game, so maybe that helps the Canes to pot in a couple of goals and keep the Ducks off the scoresheet for the most part.
So the consensus right now for me is either Canes come away with the upset in regulation, or the game goes to OT. Both options have good odds.. just can’t decide which one to pick making me probably avoid this game.
But either way, if the Canes can get off to a good start, capitalizing on their chances in the 1st half of the game, they might just have enough to keep the Ducks at bay.
I have the UNDER in mind for Ducks/Canes – But I’m not that good in these “goal-bets” ^^
Yeah i’d lean towards that too. But same thing here not really an expert on those and recently there’s been some games that were supposed to be locks for unders but ended up with 7+ goals, tough to say.
Yeah. Sometimes it went COMPLETELY different! But after your post I’d lean towards the Canes too. Great value. Some chances for an upset here! Also I could see Leafs/Wild going go OT.
Indeed !
Oh by the way i still don’t see your FB msg, it’s probably on my end, don’t know if i have some settings enabled that prevent me from getting messages unless i’ve sent a friend request, but can’t find that anywhere. I don’t use FB that much nowdays.
Hm don’t know. Maybe it’s under “requests”?! There are messages from people who aren’t in your friend list. But maybe I can contact you elsewhere?!
Johnny Hockey you had a huge game last night and a stellar return, keep it up buddy 😛
Bruins/Caps & Ducks/Canes Under make a lot of sense
I’d say Ducks and Sharks winning in regulation are the best bets tonight
Haha I’ll try – I’ll give my best 😛
Cam Ward shouldn’t be underestimated either, he’s been playing very well lately and Ducks coming off of a loss, could hurt their confidence more than boost it, Canes have also proven that they can perform when it matters against teams that should beat them.
Agree across the board for all the same reasons. I’ve got Caps ML and Caps reg
No thoughts on Sharks? Condon is in net for the sens and Sharks have jones in Net, this seems like a game Sharks should win, I do agree with Caps pick though, I don’t even think Rask is confirmed tonight.
Well, i thought about the Senators actually. They’ve been very dangerous underdog team this year. They’ve been losing games lately, but it’s not like they’re playing terrible, and they’re not a deflated team by any means. They can score a bunch of goals and also defend well, Condon’s also been good. Sharks have tendency to sometimes get a bit complacent and can go dry offensively at times. Im actually probably going to go with a small bet on Sens ML, but at the same time, can’t count out the Sharks either.
Have some shity nights lately so no bets for me tonight.
I will try one combo with some picks from here.
Last Nights Picks:
– {2 Team}
Montreal / St. Louis u5 (+115) OT Included [Cancelled]
Calgary ML (+110) OT Included [Win]
– {3 Team}
St. Louis ML (-180) OT Included [Win]
Calgary +1½ (-280) Regulation Only [Win]
Chicago ML (-220) OT Included [Win]
I have a strong urge to take Minnesota @ +1.5 . Anyone have input?
I am taking Minnesota at +1.5. I think there is a good chance they beat Toronto tonight and even if they lose, Minnesota very rarely loses by more than 1 goal (I think only once this season). In my opinion that is a good bet.
good job getting Wild +1.5. Odds have changed and TML are now dogs.
Guys what do you think about these picks?
Caps/Bs under 1.5g 1st period
Ducks win
Ducks over 2.5g
I like Washington ML tonight. I think the Capitals will have their confidence back after ending their losing streak, and also TJ Oshie is back. Maybe Ovechkin will start scoring again. Boston is playing well right now but I like Washington to win in a close one.
Well, 3/5 @ + 2.15 units in December. I got unlucky with the 2 lost picks chosing the winner in regulation, but the win was only achieved in OT. One of them was yesterday… I picked Blues in regulation.
Wild ML @1.90
GL to everyone!
2-1 in action last night, with the Bruins and Blues my winners; Jets my loser.
Tonight I like:
Minn ML – Wild are 9-1 their L10 vs Maple Leafs. Dubnyk in goal and he has been outstanding. The Wild do just enough to win 2-1.
Wash ML – The Caps are one team that Tukka Rask has had trouble figuring out over his career. Oshie will play tonight and that means the Russians are back on the same line. I think the Caps can win this one 3-1
Wash/Bos Under
Good luck!
Why are the odds for SJ are raising? Well, Couture is out…
Have to back the Hurricanes tonight. Better goaltender as of late, and they own the league in puck possession time. Can’t deny the fact their defense is stellar as well. Anaheim has been too inconsistent for years now. Good luck Graeme

Toronto – 35%
Bruins – 20%
Looks like the Caps are fired up (for a change).
Those Ducks. I will keep on playing them so if I am unlucky, they are going to sink and sink fast.
Now that is better.
