Only 4 games yesterday and we had 1 tip.
Had the Caps in regulation against the Sharks. The Sharks got on the board early and never looked back winning 4-1.
The Habs beat the Oilers with ease 6-2. They scored the 1st 3 goals, the Oilers got 2 back but the Habs scored another 3.
The Kraken beat the Flyers 4-3 in a close game. Not many shots in this game with the Kraken outshooting the Flyers 21-18.
Thanks to a strong 3rd the Knights beat the Ducks 7-2 outscoring them 5-1 in the final period.
5 games tonight and these are going to be quick as I’m hungover. Sorry about this but the Super Bowl had me drinking and eating like a fool. Congrats Chiefs.
Flames vs Senators
Flames last game they pounded the Sabres 7-2, the Sens got beat by the Oilers 6-3.
The Flames road record of 11-9-8 isn’t exactly giving me confidence in them when the Sens home record is 14-12-1.
They haven’t played each other yet this season but the last 4 between these teams each team has won 2.
The Sens are without Talbot and Forsberg so they will be riding Mads Sogaard who has 3 games in the NHL under his belt. Sometimes a team can rally around a goalie like this similar to what the Hawks did with Stauber. Skipping
Coyotes vs Predators
I have no idea for this game. Sure the Preds should win here but would need to take them to win -1.5.
They played once this season and the Preds won 4-3 in a shootout which is just another reason why I’m skipping this game.
Panthers vs Wild
The Panthers lost their last game on Saturday 5-3 against the Avalanche and the Wild are coming off of a 3-2 shootout win against the Devils.
The Panthers won 5-3 in the game on January 21st this season and the last 4 against them overall going back to 2020.
The Panthers are 3 points back of the wild card spots playing 3 more games than the Oens who are in 8th and the Wild are in 8th but can’t be comfortable with the 9th place Flames having the same amount if points as them. This game could go either way so I’m skipping.
Wings vs Canucks
These teams just played on Saturday and the Wings won that one 5-2.
With this game in Vancouver I would normally expect the Canucks to have a better showing this time. But with them trading Horvat and rumors of other key pieces probably getting moved it seems like they have thrown in the towel on this season.
The Wings are 7 points back of the wild card and need any and all points they can get. When the Canucks are struggling going 3-6-1 over last 10 and 10-13-1 at home I think it’s worth a play on the Wings
Wings win incl OT/SO if Husso starts

Sabres vs Kings
The Sabres got beat 7-2 by the Flames in their last game and will need to have more shots on goal than they did in the loss getting outshot 40-23.
The Kings beat the Penguins 6-0 in their last game with Kempe scoring 4 in a row.
The Sabres, at times, can be the highest scoring team in the league but have scored only 8 times over the last 4 games. The Kings have scored 16 goals over their last 4.
Thought about the over but the Sabres aren’t scoring as often as usual and Kings coming off that shutout. Sabres 5-3-2, Kings 5-4-1 last 10. I’m skipping.
To WIN moneyline: Flames
2nd Period OVER 1.5: Det/Van and Buff/LA
Lean: to WIN reverse puckline of +1.5: Arizona
Good observations by Scott that many of these games have issues. The pre-Trade Deadline situation is giving me the willies about Vancouver, but their scoring has been up recently.
Coyotes have been pouring it on recently and Nashville has scored 3 or fewer goals in their last 8/10 games. They won’t be well motivated by this matchup, facing Boston, Florida and Minnesota next. A good opportunity for the Coyotes to have a good showing.
I’ve been waiting all season for the Flames to snap out of their scoring frustrations (they have always produced lots of shots from far away), and their young punks may have just signaled the turning point where the Flames send in players to the front of the net to clean up instead of wasting all their potential wrestling along the boards for 50 minutes/game. I don’t see Ottawa able to stop that here in February.
I’m off the OVER in LA, with Buffalo’s scoring down recently, but otherwise this would be an instant OVER call for these two teams. Over 6.0 is tempting.
Calgary Mangiapane to score +250
Minnesota Boldy to score +210
Going with a couple higher risk picks today so it may backfire. Thought about Kaprizov +110. He’s probably the safest bet. And Matt Tkachuk +130. Didn’t really wanna take Tkachuk in this spot so I’m hoping there’ll be a better time to take him in a different game.
Thanks for the work you guys do each night. Much appreciated!
